Is anyone having a cookout or doing anything fun today??? My DH has to work so it is just a regular Tuesday for us.

Hope everyone is enjoying the 4th.

Welcome, Todd and your families!

Dennis and I are just quiet today. I weed and feeded the lawn and he was working on photos for my dad's memorial. That will be Sunday, we are driving up on Saturday. I'm cooking on Friday. I am making potato salad, watermelon, ice tea (sweet) and peach cobbler for 80 people. :teeth: Yep, by myself. We are buying the chicken though. Thank goodness for Wal-Mart supercenter!!

Angie you are too funny! Isn't shipping fairly cheap for you guys down there? (remember, it is 33.68 to ship to Canada, lol.)

Wow! quiet day on the thread! Everyone must be busy enjoying the fireworks and cookouts. We cooked out with FIL and his wife a little earlier and got home just before dark. Limited home based firecrackers were just made legal in GA so it sounds like we are under attack here.

Y'all have a SAFE and happy 4th.

Lisa,
I sent you my dining info to link. Did you get it alright?

Have I told you all that I hate unpacking almost as much as I hate packing.

Poor Brack! I feel for you! I hate moving. I moved back and forth during my days at Mansfield University. When DH and I built the house I said I would never move again! My children will have to drag my feeble body from the house!

Sunday evening it started raining (again) then it started hailing. I looked out the back sliding glass door (where my DMIL was standing) and noticed that leaves and limbs were flying around in a fast swirling motion .... O MY! .... it is a tornado!! in my backyard. I calmly asked my DMIL to come away from the window. Then the power goes out and it was out for 14 hours! Trees were down all around in our neighborhood and several cars damaged. I still have some limbs on the roof.

I told my DW that we left "Tornado Alley" (Oklahoma) where in 7 years I never saw a tornado up close just the after effects to come to a place where they rarely happen and see one in my backyard! It was funny .... afterwards.

ahh leave it in boxes until the next move.... :teeth:

I'm just saying that because i have a room full of stuff that is still in boxes since we moved into this house 2 years ago.

I have a goal to go through it all and try to get rid of stuff we don't need.

Welcome to MD, Brack....

Have you experience our nightmare traffic yet? :moped:

and where exactly is nottingham?

You must have PEPCO or BG&E for your electricity......again there's a welcome to MD.

We had some really bad wind/lightening storms three years ago and some parts of MD were left without electric for 2-3 WEEKS. Now's there's service.

Since i've moved to Frederick the only problems i've had were a couple short outages that reset the clocks but were only about a minute long.

GOOFYFORLIFE I drove through "Fredneck" on Sunday evening about 4PM and waved. That's three times in less than a week.

I have been down to the office which is next to the Inner Harbor but the traffic wasn't as bad as I remember.

Nottingham is northeast of the city just outside the beltway. It is very close to White Marsh Mall off Hwy 1.

Lisa: I have noticed that I can not click on a "smiley" and have it appear in my messages. I can write the "code" for it and it will show but I can not click on one. It is only on this computer. Do you know why?

A twister?!?! :faint: What a welcome!! :rotfl:

How is the new place? I hope everything survived the move! :thumbsup2

Tomorrow is my first full day in the office so I had better get to bed. Talk to you tomorrow.

ahh...the only i get over that way is when I go up 95 to Philly to see my Dsis.

Lots of shopping over that way....I think White marsh has about every store imaginable now......

Traffic should be picking up by the end of this week..... I dread going in tomorrow....

But just wait...next week i change jobs and drop from a 26 mile commute to less than 5 miles..... i should be less "goofy" after that change.

The POD delivered everything just like we loaded it; safe and sound. The house is nice .... if I can keep the storms away.
