evening guys, just got out of the pool and hot tub...left the ht on for later!! ;)

I hope to hear something tomorrow re my interview Friday. She did mention one way or another they would call....I am hoping they do and the salary is something I can accept. I truly think even if I break even re the day care issue, that this company would be a better match and have more opportunites in the long run.

I did send my resume to a few in Tampa/St Pete today but I don't want to drive...I hate commuting.

Pool and hot tub - hah!

Still in the 20's here, and snowing now . . . about an inch down and more coming.

Just came on to post

GO BEARS!

Bears had a great game Kim . . . almost forgot you were a Bears fan.

I would like to see Dungy and Smith coach against each other so they could share the first African American to be head coach in a Superbowl.

Sorry Carla, but I am a bit tired of the Patriots.

This is Bobby making himself at home .... in my chair!

Stay warm Bobby..... Glad to see that you guys got home ok....

It got really snowy and icy on the roads here about an hour or so after we left Panera.......

There were accidents all over the place.

You'd think these people had never seen snow before:confused:

Posting some pictures of the latest Mini-Meet. Here we are with Andy, Kristina, Devon and Abbey at Panera Bread in Frederick, MD picking up Bobby for his road trip with us to Ocean City.

Yes it's cold and that's snow Vanessa!

And just WHERE is Bobby's coat and mittens? The poor boy has only been to the tropics and you have him out there just about naked! He is going to catch his death of cold!

It was a bit hairy at times because some people got a bit crazy.

Angie and Dennis,

I just finished Bad Medicine by Dr. Hugs sister. It was very good! She is good at character motivations! Thanks for the recommendation!

Kim
Thanks, Kim. Glad you enjoyed it. We will tell her. She and Dennis are "collaborating on a screen play" now. ;) We'll see what becomes of this project.;)

Glad to see JoJo and Bobby are getting to visit. Hope he enjoys his trip with you, Brack!:lmao:

This is why they play two halves of a football game . . .

GAME TIED!

Lisa, I know John1 is "working on you" to go with us in May.....have you thought about how HOT, HOT, HOT it will be in August in the Canal Zone? :sad2: Possible hurricanes once you hit the caribbean. :scared1: You better work out somethig with the school and come with us. :)

Hey Marielle, any chance we can talk you into joining us in May?

John1

Wish it could happen, but no. Our school district will allow 5 days out for a trip (assuming you have gone through the preapproval process), but any more than 5 absences for a trip would mean illegal absences, and lots of related unpleasantries.

Absolutely Lisa, Hurricanes, Hot, and you know that giant squid and Davey Jones will be searching for CJS!

Can you take all those risks???

Want me to call your school board president as a colleague?

Maybe a member of your board is coming to Washington next weekend with me, and I can look them up there?

Do I need to call your school board too?

I have free nationwide long distance!

Now tell me, what would be more educational for those kids, sitting in school the last few weeks of school, or traversing history and the Panama Canal? No contest!

John1

Well, John1, when all of your school board gang gets together in DC, how about making sure every district realizes that Disney trips are more important than stupid NCLB-prompted end-of-year tests???

Check out the DCL pic of the day thread, there are all kinds of PC photos, the ruin along the bank are huge!

Pj

Ok . . . at the risk of sounding uncultured . . .

I really found little fault with the DCL food. Sometimes it was not as hot as I like food, but I thought it was fine. I thought the quality was good, and I really enjoyed the desserts. I did not find it bland, or spicy. I would have liked some ethnic flavor, but realize they are cooking for so many people - many of whom would probably not care for such selections.

On the other hand, I have not cared for any of the buffets on the ship other than breakfast (I don't count Palo Brunch as a buffet).

Of course Palo was a cut above all of that!

So . . . am I just not as discerning? Or too easily satisfied?

John1

I think my main problem was how heavy everything was. At home I cook with little or no oil, fat free milk, "light" margarine's, etc... Because of previous problems with cholesterol (DH and I both had very high and his family has history of heart disease). So eating so light for the last year and a half (when I really buckled down to get us healthy) kind of made it really hard for DH and I to stomach those foods that were cooked in lots of oil. Even the Penne Pasta Arrabiata, that I ordered for lunch one day at Lumiere's was just swimming in oil and I thought it would be a light pasta dish. It left us feeling bloated every night and for me the taste of oily dishes drowns out the true flavor of a dish.
