OK, at the HS level, I get it. At 2nd or 3rd grade?

While we test in Ohio, there are not the high stakes at each grade level that you guys are describing. The tests NEVER hold a child back, they just are a measurement of the performance of the school.

In HS, the all have to pass the OGT (Ohio Graduation Test).

I have no idea how I made it through high school, got full scholarships to college, got a BS and MBA, and completed my thesis and defense without a standardized test every year of my school life. Boy, I must have been really lucky to squeak through life without that! I must really be deficent in my education. Stoping now, really I promise.

We are there for August and plan to do DL prior to the cruise ...August has no school worries for us ...May would cause way too many problems .....

August is a bust because DD might want to join band in HS (flags) and they do stuff before school starts even.

we booked the '07 onboard. Now, if we transfer that to the repo we get the 10% off and the stateroom credit right?
John is not wanting to cancel that just yet....so if I book the repo, pay the deposit, etc, have two reservations can I at a later date cancel 07 and have the discount and credit applied to the repo cruise?

also, I am not sure how to book, if I should go with a TA or just call DCL myself. I could always transfer to a TA later for a credit right?
I pm/emailed Sue Ellen who said she would set up a page but I haven't heard back from her.
My reg AAA TA, well, he's out of the office again. I am sure he'll be back before the 31st but of course I am anxious.

Luckily, we booked a 2008 dummy date. If we transfer that one, cancel 12/1, and 12/8 (yeah, we now have THREE reservations booked with deposits) that may pay for a good portion of the repo. But we are not cancelling 12/8 until we see who is going on the repo.

We will probably just handle it all through Disney, and then decide on a TA with who may have the best deal.

You will not be able to combine a repo booking with the onboard booking. The only way to get the discount on the repo cruise is to transfer it at the time you book it.

All the repo talk is exciting, even though we won't be doing it. Two weeks is a lot of school time to miss... in May, you're running out of time to make up missed work, and even though they're not in school until late August or early September, Elizabeth would miss field hockey tryouts/practices then. I'll love to hear about everyone's plans, though!
John1, I'll be watching for your Jan 09 plans. Elizabeth's new high school has a week off in January (between semesters/after first semester finals) so that could be a possibility. (Assuming they keep the same kind of calendar as this year!)

I too think I will call DCL myself for this one. John has high hopes of both but I don't see how he could be off a week in Dec and then more than 2 in May...although his vacation time renews at the end of Feb. At least we have a week or so to decide! I just hate the thought of canceling december.

Yep same thing. Pass the SOL or no next grade....especially at the HS level.

Wow , we don't have anything like that here. The closest thing is the test you have to pass to graduate HS.
