Sorry I havent posted over here in awhile ...As most of you may already know my real Father past away last Friday , Though I didnt even know about him till I was 12 I did have the chance to get to know him a little during my teens and early 20's . For me he was never really a "Father" and was difficult going back to Buffalo this week , but I did and for the most part made my peace ...The Positive thing that did come out of this was I finally met my brother and sister that I had never met and they were in the same boat as I , they also never had him around as a "Father" ...Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers ..

At my MIL's funeral DH gained an aunt and a cousin (cousin was from an aunt he did know about) he had never known about his whole life.

I don't have much time now but I have had THE worst day.

I got two bonus files confused and as a result over $200,000 in bonuses were not paid today. I got that news about 5 minutes after I got to work. I am exhausted, stressed, headache-y, etc.. I have spent all day scrambling and I am just worn out.

On top of all of that they are predicting major storms for us including tornadoes tonight so I don't think I am going to get much sleep. I really need a vacation!!!!

These may be late, but you may still need them!

I had to post this here too, because it is so awe inspiring . . .

So I went over there to check the EB thread . . .

What I do is, when I close my laptop, I leave my browser open with all the active tabs. I opened a tab to their last page at 10:30 last night, and refreshed that page today . . .

In 24 hours, they have done 101 pages . . .

So that is 1515 posts or there about.

That's just a little over one post a minute.

Now I know what Lisa means when she says that thread never sleeps!

I'm sure we hit that pace from time to time, but I have seen that be pretty consistent with them, about 100 pages a day!

It has slowed down some John. Yesterday was back up with chattiness. I can actually keep up now though.

It was ok around 10 am. After the street lights coming on because it was so dark with the rain & wind, the sun came out and it has been clear since. I had such a headache that I closed my eyes & ended up taking a nap.

I am so glad to hear what a good time you guys are having. It makes me feel good to see you getting such joy out of this, and acting like kids. It gives me hope that I am not the only one who still gets like this about such things.

I did a little shopping of my own today. The essentials like microwave popcorn! Also the foil, plastic wrap, cleaners, etc, etc. Just like furnishing another house! Then I got back to reality and dealt with the insurance. We have allstate for house and cars so I got a price from my agent, but decided I should shop around. I found same coverage for just a little more than HALF of the allstate price from progressive. I felt bad calling our agent and saying thanks but no thanks, but $500 per year is alot of money to spend just for loyalty. Anyway, went with progressive and got everything done online.

Well, since you all helped me get thru last year with Mike's graduate school...I just have to share this with you. This morning I tried to call him at work & someone else answered the phone. They told me that DH was in another position until the end of the year and gave me his new number. I figured that he was just filling in for someone. This afternoon a friend showed up at the door to visit and congradulated him. When I asked for what they said for his promotion. Well, that was news to me! So, we don't have to (or get to for now) move for him to be promoted. It is so nice for all of his hard work last year to be recognized. I am very proud of him.

I updated Bella's eMac in a few minutes as I had not run update on it so I needed the day light svgs thing. I then went to update my windoz laptop. I was so freakin frustrated I wanted to throw it out the window. Genuine windows stuff is ridiculous and the darn Update KB931836 wasn't in my control panel so I had to go find it. Find it and then it automatically takes you to explorer and activex- since I do not use explorer but firefox due to security concerns I then try to find the way to get it that way. Then I see add-ons and say forget it just load explorer and hope I don't get an exploit in the time it takes to do this thing.

Then I see I need 2 other exe utilities to move my out look calendars TMZMOVE and some other thing.

The whole process was ridiculous and I know my way around the system I have no clue how someone who does not is supposed to do all that foolishness.

I guess I'm just spoiled - Software Update ran on my Mac - what 2 weeks ago and that was it. It required no intervention on my part. my Mac.
Now I need to go update the iBook and I am not feeling the stress of what I went through just now on this thing.

Oh, i am a Buyer, think a geeky Rachel Green from friends. Very easy, get orders, make purchases on MAC retailer site, and support the service depart (all mac parts) = 80%. The other 20% is research, so I spend that time web surfing for new stuff, mac rumors, etc. Life is cool for now.

Carla, we have over 50 computers (plus 30 registers) at the stores, all windoze, and I don't think they have even thought about the new daylight savings date. We have inventory on Sunday and are still fighting with the new inventory and sales system.

Carla - isn't that the truth with the Windoz updates! I went through the same thing at work. I use Firefox too, even though our IT guy wants us all using explorer. I tried the new explorer and it acted all goofy with my wheel mouse at work.

Love my Mac. Still Hate Windoz.
