Thanks for the gimme. I can't buy one on the Western Repo thread. :confused3

Wow Brack! Do you get extra points for the full sandwich?

P.S.- We need your land address, somehow, to send a couple of (less than good) pictures discs. I still owe you.

Thanks, D

Ang is watching TV. I can't believe it. I even drove her off of the Boards.

Hello? Hello?

She has usually stolen my computer by now.

Well, I think I need to recline myself. I am coughing, headachey, and depressed. (Heavy Sighing).

   :upsidedow

You dear sweet man, I think you need some rest in the sun. Stay warm and in bed and do whatever Angie tells you to do.

Lisa,

Have they assigned another full time mod to your thread or do you have to do it all?

I made a long trek to my mom's today to go to a Dr. appt with her. It is a 2 1/2 hr drive each way, then the doc and lunch with my sis. Long day. My mom is 81 yo and has been having pain across her chest and down her right arm for months. Her provider (NP) has run every test they can and everything is negative. Treadmill - great. gallbladder - no stones and the more extensive test to check the output was perfect, orthopedist said mri showed nothing in her arm/shoulder, upper gi showed on problem with her stomach. So, we are thinking since everything imaginable has been ruled out and since she is on meds that can have joint and muscle pain as side effects that we ought to consider that. Dennis did an analysis of her meds, but she was afraid to make suggesstions. Her generation was taught to just do what the doctor said. So, she and my sis asked if I could go with her and discuss our concerns. Of course he was very receptive and said it is not unreasonable to look at meds as a cause. The pain is severe enough that it wakes her and bothers her all day, so it is affecting her quality of life. She - like most - is on a med for cholesterol. That is the most likely culprit and not life threatening if she does not take it for a period of time so she is stopping that today. At 81 she has only been on ANY meds for about 5 years and the number she takes went from none to 6 in not too long a time. Dennis thinks they have added med to treat side effects of meds, which happens often. Gave her 2 BP meds, her triglycerides went up to over 400 so put her on a med for that, but the literature that Dennis got showed that these two meds can cause triglycerides to rise and even more so in combination. :confused3

I did get to see my niece's baby girl. She is not quite 3 months and this is just the second time I've gotten to play with her. MMMMMM Love that baby smell.

Long post. Sorry

My mom was on medicine for cholesterol and she had to stop taking it because of the joint and muscle pain. She noticed the difference very soon after stopping. Hopefully your mom will notice th difference too.

I just found out yesterday that Sophia will miss only NINE days of school for the WB repo, as one of the days we are gone is a teacher in-service day.

With my mom's passing, that is the same amount of days she missed this year for our 7 day cruise!

Hi John and Amy! Glad to hear that Sophia will not being missing any more days then a normal cruise.

One of the WMs is helping me when I call her, but that thread & the website is about all I can handle. IDK what is going on with the rest of the boards and forget about WSP thing...I have no idea what is happening with that.

Good morning everyone! Just thought I would check in. It looks like it has been pretty quiet around here.

Aaron is on another marathon grocery trip. Things are getting easier because we know some things to get now. Nathan is trying lots of stuff and so far we are having some luck but he has tried lots of stuff he did not like. On our list for this week is to try to make our own chicken nuggets and I am going to try to make some brownies that hopefully will taste good. Those are two things DS has really been asking for so I hope it works out. I also found a honey garlic chicken recipe that sounds fantastic that we will try this week.

I am starting to plan some more for our November trip. I am slowly getting excited about it. Things have been so overwhelming that it has been difficult to get focused. I hope that is changing. Plus I don't want to spend too much time planning an itinerary before TGM does his November suggestions which probably won't be out for a few more months.

I hope every is healthy (or getting healthier) and I hope everyone had a great birthday if I missed it these past few days!

Caroline!!!! Are you going to come show off your shiney new tags to all the DIS Geeks? :)

Dennis can't take it either. Fights with his doc all the time. "We need to try another one"..."I've tried 4 alreadY! I'm not taking it". :sad2:

I talked with my mom yesterday morning and she sounded really good. It was because she got a good night sleep though because he gave her a "little anxiery pill". She said she slept all night, just got up 2 times to go to the bathroom and then went right back to sleep. She had been getting up 4 or 5 times and staying up for awhile each time. We will see if the pain stops in a week or so.

Very interesting article, John.

One question (and I realize this is a tiny part of the financial issue, but was just wondering): Did the districts cover field trips in the past? Here, parents pay for the field trips (museum admission, etc, at a group rate) and the PTO (fundraising) covers the bus costs. PTO also covers any low-income situations.

Marielle, I had the same question. We also pay for field trips & the cost of the bus is included in that amount. Of course the current principal has cut back the number of field trips per grade level to one per year. UGH! The teachers are begging programs to come to them in the school to compensate.
