Well, John's got hitting practice tonight, but I know it will be quick as it is freezing out. So I'll have time to get my cuties and straighten up a bit before he gets home.

I have to say, I can't believe my baby is 2....this weekend, she was so funny, she loved the face characters and was not too keen on the furs but not as scared as usual, she did ask to see Flick though, maybe he looks a bit less threatening? Who knows....

Becka - hope you feel better soon, and all I can say is that most guys (yeah, many that I know) just are not good caregivers for kids, and get frustrated really easily when thrust into that role. Aaron is not unusual - not saying that is right - just the way most guys are, so give him a chance, and hopefully he will come around. That has not been the way with Amy and I (yeah, I read your post hun - thanks), but I think we are in general the exception and not the rule.

Good morning! Another cold one to whine about... about 9 degrees, and -12 with the wind chill. Just north of here in the Poconos it's -23 with the wind chill. Haven't missed any school yet, though!

Good Morning!

I hurt myself somehow getting into bed at the wrong angle last night and as a result I did not really get any sleep and I was in a lot more pain. Pretty much as bad as it has been. Yesterday when I coughed I actually felt and heard a pop and now it seems I can actually feel the shifting of the rib when I move. It was cracked before but now I think it actually broke clean through. It was especially painful trying to find a position to sleep in where as the previous nights I actually could always find a comfortable position with some artful pillow placement. I am exhausted this morning so I took a bunch of my pain meds and I am going to go back to bed and see if I can get more comfortable and get some sleep.

It was so cold here today, that when I let the dog out to go, her pee froze before it hit the snow.

(Do you know when a snowstorm is coming here, the tradition is to wear your pajamas inside out, and put ice cubes in the toilet to hope for a snow day? No kidding)

Thanks John1! Unfortunately I agree that this is pretty typical male behavior at least when I talk to my other "married with kids" friends it seems that way. It just annoys me. Maybe it is somewhat of a generational thing. We mothers now expect the dads to help out a lot more when it comes to raising kids. However, maybe because they feel they already have a lot of responsibility that it is not fair to ask them to take on more. Almost a "I am already doing my fair share" kind of thing. I know when I was growing up really the only time my Dad was a really hands-on parent was when my Mom was really sick.

I guess that I am lucky with Mike too. There have been times when I am not feeling well and he takes the kids out to give me a chance to rest. He even took them to his parents a few years ago when I got the flu at Christmas. I was wiped out & he went up there for a few days with them. Now that he is home more often I find myself counting down until he will be home from the office so that he can step in & help me with the divide & conquer thing with the kids.

Did anyone else get the DCL triangle car Magnet with Goofy on it like we did?

Very cool, but afraid to put it on the car for fear it will fall off with all the snow, ice, and salt.

So it's on the fridge for now.

Ours is up on the fridge too. I was more concerned about it being swiped off the car.
