Wow!!

Not that similar BUT, I grew up with my grandparents.....my Grandad was sent to South Africa and I, at 15 went with them for a year of schooling.
EVERYONE there had maids, gardeners, etc, they even still had fresh milk and oj delivered. My Grandparents brought the maid and gardner and their families to the states and helped them get settled and whatnot here.

Wow! Nice of them to do that! My brother took his family to South Africa in the mid 70's for a couple of years. Quite an experience for his kids who were 2-12 years.

Amy's mom (who lives near us) and sister (who came home for the weekend) are both around for her, but I think Amy will probably just enjoy some time to herself and rest without me, Sophia, or the dog around. I took her to the kennel this morning.

Anyway, that explains what I saw on the way over here. It must have just broken up when I was on my way from the airport to the hotel on the metro. Lots of people with signs and placards. I saw them all over the place and just thought, well, it is DC.

I saw the Alice in the teacup one too Pj. Yeah spinning with Lyle Lovett and Oliver Platt - would be one interesting day. I still think of Oliver Platt as the fairy godfather in Cinderelmo. I do love the photos of Annie Leibovitz.

I think a younger girl playing Alice would have been better but then if they did Lyle L and Oliver P would have looked more in keeping with the gossip of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson aka Lewis Carroll in "real" life if you know what a mean. Also Alice Liddell was not blond so the girl from the Gilmore Girls actually would have been a cool Alice as well.

I was reading how the teacups were sent to Annie Leibovitz. I also read there will be Little Mermaid, Peter Pan and another that I can't now recall.

Sorry its been so long but things have not been good. We got home jan 5th from autumns surgeries and things were starting to look good and then last weekend she started to feel bad again. well we took her to chicago (5 hour drive) to the hospital where her surgoen is. well by the time we got there her temp was 105 and she started to have multiple seizures and she ended up coding in the er. she was rushed to surgery to remove the tubes from her brain and neck because there was an infection in her spinal fluid. we will be in the hospital for about 3 more weeks and she will go through atleast 3 more surgeries in that time frame. they took her off the ventilator yesterday and she is finally breathing good on her own.

everybody please give your kids an extra hug today and if you could please say a prayer for autumn, she has a long road ahead of her.

Jill, I hope you can still feel the hugs I gave you onboard... I think of Autumn everyday and pray that she will get through any obsticle handed to her. Keep the faith!

Becka, you worked so hard on this! It looks great! I just felt bad seeing your picture knowing how horrible you were feeling! I would see a picture and think, geee she was pale, we should have known!
