I called to do this John. We got a credit, didn't have to pay anything 'extra'. Thought DH would be using the credit for his upcoming trip to Dallas, but they don't have a direct and we could use the credit for the Oct cruise. Kristina knows more about how to do it online, but I was scared to lose the flight so I just callrd. Was very easy. The credit has to be used within a year.

I didn't know the credit had to be used wthin the year. I guess we always use them so it hasn't been an issue. Sometimes we re-book our WDW trip 3 times. They usually prefer if you do the cancel for credit online - they walked me through it the first time but now have made it more intuitive.
As Caroline said there is no fee but you don't get your money back, only a credit for a future trip.

If the DING price is only nominally cheaper and you are not sure you will use the credit, then it may not be worth it.

Yeah . . . call me a sucker, or a softie . . .

Hate those sno-cones - they are EVIL! $12 each! The bottom of my shoes are STILL sticky when we got home! Of course, after a few bites, both girls were tired of them, and you know who had to eat a bunch of ice after the girls got most of the syrup with a straw.

Disney on ice must have bent to some parental pressure though . . . with each sno-cone, you get a package with an extra straw, spoon, napkin AND wet wipe - I gave the guy a tip (must have been the only one, he acted so surprised) and he gave me extra napkins and packets!

John1, DrHug asked me to tell you that you are a very good Daddy. :)

Ok . . . at the risk of sounding uncultured . . .

I really found little fault with the DCL food. Sometimes it was not as hot as I like food, but I thought it was fine. I thought the quality was good, and I really enjoyed the desserts. I did not find it bland, or spicy. I would have liked some ethnic flavor, but realize they are cooking for so many people - many of whom would probably not care for such selections.

On the other hand, I have not cared for any of the buffets on the ship other than breakfast (I don't count Palo Brunch as a buffet).

Of course Palo was a cut above all of that!

So . . . am I just not as discerning? Or too easily satisfied?

John1

John1, you are not alone. We love the food. It is much warmer than what I get at home after getting everybody else set to eat. :sad2: Not much culture here in the northwest either, I guess. We have not eaten at the lunch buffet at Topsiders. I just can't imagine what one would want to eat that they don't have. :confused3 If you don't see it on the menu and want it, just ask. We think we will probably have to give lessons on patty melts this Dec cruise for my DBIL. :sad2: That is what he ordered for dinner at the Space Needle...he had to tell them how to make it, but they did and he said it was good! ;)

Angie and Dennis,

I just finished Bad Medicine by Dr. Hugs sister. It was very good! She is good at character motivations! Thanks for the recommendation!

OK lessons my padwans....

First, YES you can GET YOUR MONEY BACK..... Only if the flight is the exact same one you originally booked. You tell them you changed a non-refundable fare to another non-refundable fare. Thanks to me...My Dsis just got back her $330 from Dec flights. (oh yeah and that was after i borrowed an additional $30 to pay for one of my return fares last trip)

The easiest way i've found to switch from internet only fares to DING fares is to book the ding all the way to the "how your paying" screen, then you open a second explorer window..go to southwest travel center and cancel the higher rate fares (only do one way at a time)...You will then have a cancellation #. Take that number over to the first explorer screen (the payment for the ding fares) and apply your credit there. I've never had a problem doing it that way.

Have to post this here . . .

Todd, the scurvy dog, is posting on our WB thread . . .

PJ has renamed him . . .

well thanks - because I certainly didn't know that. we always get the credit but it makes sense that they can't hold your money hostage. we always book the same flight just at the lower fare. we never use DING because we can't get it to work right on our laptop.

evening guys, just got out of the pool and hot tub...left the ht on for later!! ;)

I hope to hear something tomorrow re my interview Friday. She did mention one way or another they would call....I am hoping they do and the salary is something I can accept. I truly think even if I break even re the day care issue, that this company would be a better match and have more opportunites in the long run.

I did send my resume to a few in Tampa/St Pete today but I don't want to drive...I hate commuting.

JUST AN FYI....anyone going back to Cozumel and the first bar we went to....of course I wrote a HUGE message on the bottle out front....and DH wrote 96 and 06 Go Gators....above the hammocks.....

clearly this was before the big game!

Keeping fingers crossed V!

Posting some pictures of the latest Mini-Meet. Here we are with Andy, Kristina, Devon and Abbey at Panera Bread in Frederick, MD picking up Bobby for his road trip with us to Ocean City.

Nice one, Brack! Watching ESPN's GameDay in Chapel Hill was great, too!

This was the first game from "Blue Heaven" that I have seen in HD and it was great to see all that powder blue so bright. I had a tear in the corner of my eye. :flower3:
