I think what you are doing with your turkey is awesome. I can not tell you how much it means to people. We have had some bad years here and we were so thankful for strangers and are neighbors for thinking of us. Last TG our neighbor brought over a huge box with all the fixings for TG and at Xmas brought over homemade cookies and stuff and even a wreath for us. I balled my eyes out. Last year was a rough one for us DH got hurt at work in oct and i lost my job in nov, we had no idea what we were going to do for the holidays. I had never been so thankful. Also one time when Autumn was firt sick we were having a rough time, my dh also just had his first back surgery and I was not working at the time due to Autumn. The kids knew xmas was going to be small and they were ok with that but when we came home xmas eve there were 4 garbage bags filled with gifts for them. I still have no idea where they came from. Still to this day i tell the girls santa did it. One other act of kindness to tell you about.
Brian and I were married almost 4 years ago. We had to change our wedding plans because autumn was very sick at the time, so we decided to get married in our home with just close family and cut back on the cost. well the night before our wedding Autumn went in for emergency surgery but before surgery Autumn made me promise we would still get married evn if she wasnt there. She wanted mom to be happy. so saturday morning my wedding cake was delivered and i asked the person what the total damages were. he said it is paid for, i said it cant be. he imformed me that someone else already paid for it. the weirdest thing about that is, NO ONE knew where i ordered my cake from. still to this day i have no idea. all of these days in my life were made unforgetable by strangers. I have never been so grateful in my life. With the exception of receiving a surprising check that paid for this cruise.

Sorry for babbling, I just have so much to be thankful for this year. I have 4 wonderful girls and a great husband and a wonderful family that you will all meet in about 2 WEEKS. And the wonderful people on the disboard that have offered so much to me.

Happy THANKSGIVING all

Jill

hubby woke me up going potty so I got up to put the bird in. Why do you have to leave that plastic leg noose in there? Doesn't it melt in the oven?
We have only done breasts for so many years that I haven't seen this before.

We are bringing our bird to the community building - they have a town wide dinner - for anyone who is alone, poor, or just likes to eat with a crowd.
Woodstock has a lot of elderly people. The dinner is free - all contributions - volunteers cook the turkeys etc.

Then we go to MIL for our turkey dinner.

Angie that was really sweet! I hope you enjoy your day!!!! I can't believe I am up today before 5 AM. I get this way when I know I have a house full of people coming.

Maybe that is why the kids were up way too early this morning? I was woken up to DH yelling & DS running up the stairs crying & slamming his door. I looked at the clock & it was 5:58!!!!!! :sad2: I don't understand them. When they have to get up for school, they want to sleep in but when they can sleep in, they get up at night! DH was up around 3. I think that when DD gets up to crawl into bed with us & sees that DH is downstairs, she just goes down there. OY!

I got the Disney Direct Christmas Pj's for my kids. I think they are VERY low quality. I am also sending them back!!! I went to the Disney store and bought some there!!! They were much nicer!

Well, that stops my order from going thru! I was questioning getting them to get up to the $50 mark. They have a 3 week ship date though. I tried to figure out what the shipping would be & that darn castle has to be shipped seperately with it's own 8.50 charge so even with $100 total I would be charged for shipping it! :furious:

Happy Turkey Day!

Said offender is now mostly defrosted/rinsed/found guts and butt part but couldn't find neck :confused3

What's up with that?

Ahh it'll have to stay in there....

Said bird now waiting for the oven...Buttered/in pan/bag in fridge for an hour or so...

I'm off to the gym for spinning class and powerflex.... Be back later...

Turn in for.....

Does DH ever wake up?
Does he see my instructions on fridge?
Does he even care i'm not home?
Does he flip out?
Does Kristina hurt herself at gym?
Does he run to Denny's for dinner instead?

All this and more on the Kristina & Andy Show....

BTW ...This is Kristina...Just noticed DH is logged in but i refuse to retype this all

LOL! Did you look in both ends of the bird? The neck was in the end with the legs clamped shut & the bag of guts was in the other end.

Jill, it sounds like you have quite a few guardian angels looking out for you. :) Have you heard the song Angels Among Us? Thanks for sharing your story. It is heartwarming to know that there are people who still care that much in the world as it is today. :)

Before I forget....

I just basted the turkey for the first time. Smells so yummy! What a difference 12 years makes. :) Our first Thanksgiving together we settled a major disagreement. DH always spent the holidays with his family. He insisted that we spend both TG and Christmas at his parent's house. He relented and took Christmas. I offered to cook dinner for both families at his house. We had 13 people eating at two tables in the dining room that year. Turkey, spiral ham, yams, potatoes, stuffing, vegies, & three pies. Somehow it all fit together smoothly & worked out perfectly. Now I am here keeping the kids apart so they don't kill each other while putting dinner together. OY!

OMG! You guys are too funny at the other thread! :lmao:

Now I am breaking maritime law!

I would say maritime law is an issue when YOU are doing this on your own, without letting GS know. As Lisa said, you aren't first and if they can, GS will accomodate you and make sure safety if met first...I'm gonna start asking for Maritime law references soon...

She's still afraid of anything involving fire - although she forces herself to toast marshmallows.

But when it comes to charcoaled, melted, drippy, lumps of marshmallowy goodness, there isn't much need to be forced...maybe it just me. :confused3

excuse me - Ken and I aren't twins. I think there is a name for that -let me see......
I meant....well you know what I mean....I see now that I shouldn't have tried to delve into the workings of the DISer mind. It goes much deeper than any normal person should be expected to go...they have institutions with whole wards for people who have tried...and failed. :sad2:

Great news V! :thumbsup2 One less thing for you to worry about. Who was it sent through? UPS. FEDEX??
The weird carrier!

My Thanksgiving ~ !

I do have to say....I have a dear friend who I do not get to see often and although she may not know, but she means the world to me. Day in and day out...(I do not have friends (women) here in Sarasota......I think mainly because of the age difference of my husband and I....all of our friends are a bit older and tend to write us out of things being that we have two little ones) maybe a few days out...she always remembers me when no one else does and makes me feel like I have someone "out" there that I can belly up and grab a margarita with. She is gorgeous, witty and best of all......a great person. Thanks so much for being my friend, I truly wish I could spend much more time with you!!

and of course....I am thankful for these two princesses who have not listened all day, the husband who woke up thinking of only food and football (after I had been up until 3 am preparing all the meal!) the rest of my very dysfunctional family and all the great people I have "met" here. Most every one of you know much more about me that the majority of my family! But I do have to give a huge shout out to my sister...Amber, many of you know her as Drama Queen, and many may meet her in December...as "bad" as I speak of her.....I adore her. I am so thankful -although 10 years apart- my mom gave me a sister. She's Jessica Simpson silly, very pretty and she just (I finally realized) adores me. and all these years I have been less than great to her. I hope I have the chance to show her how much I love her. and she just called me!! (from her dad's!!) she love's me!
