I hope you get all your packages. makes me think I should ship to the port early.

Leaving Wed afternoon to drive (kids have a half-day of school). Since we're pulling them out for the cruise, I'm not taking them out more for Tgiving.
Probably will take 10 hours (more if there's traffic, but we're not on I-95, so that's good!) so we won't arrive until close to midnight.

we still haven't made plans yet. guess it depends how much we get done this weekend. don't feel that relaxed about going away if there is so much to do.

I did win a free turkey too. is that a reason to stay home?

that's a relief!!! hope they arrive quickly. I always get the thing I really want the day after xmas. happens every year. very frustrating especially if you have paid for expedited shipping.

ugh that's nasty - how are they all in the car. I would hate sitting for that long.

They're pretty good. It's what they know (both sets of grandparents are about 10 hours away--different places, but each 10 hours away). So summer visits and holiday visits often mean long drives (we fly sometimes, too, so that's a bit shorter.)
They'll get to watch one movie on my laptop (don't have a DVD player in the van... the laptop battery is usually good for one movie or so), and the girls have always been able to read in the car without getting sick, so that helps. DD13 has an old version of Gameboy; that can entertain any of them for a bit, and she has an iPod, so she can listen to her own music (and she even loaded her little brother's songs, too).

Hannah and Walt have been up all this time (actually before I started posting). They're watching a DVD and kinda chilling. They both tend to wake up early but need to ease into the day (DD usually wakes up for school by 7am but the bus does not come until 8:30; she has enough time to move in slow motion that way!)

UGH! I was getting frustrated checking my orders for the past week. But it looks like I will have stuff before we leave. One order is definitely arriving Monday because it's at the UPS spot where it goes before it's "out for delivery" (funny since online tracking started, I know all the UPS and FedEx stops as it gets closer to my house).

Hannah has a piano recital this afternoon. Still have to figure out what she's wearing for it and bake some cookies to share after the recital. Some of the kids are so good. Hannah got to play in the recital last March (with a very basic piece because she had only been playing 2 months at that point!). So her pieces are still simple, but it's still nice to go.

The recital will be nice for her to show her talent... We have are very first band concert for Layne on Dec 5 then he auditions for the Sax on DEC 7... He is very excited and nervous
