LISA?????

Does the turkey have to be completely submerged?? It doesn't fit completely and about 2" are sticking up above the water...

That is how ours was too. :) It is only 13 pounds but a split sink. It was all thawed & cold.

I was cruising the DCL website and they say they needed to cut back on the boat this year...they just swapped out the Magic for a new boat...they SAY its nice, but I don't know... :confused3 wonder how many pools it has.

Kind of reminds me of our first DCL cruise, at that time the "Big Red Boat" was anchored at Port Canaveral, and we actually went by it on the way out of the port. She looked worse than the "Magic 2" you have posted here Andy . . . and to think that was once the Disney Cruise!

Don't get me started on the one Thanksgiving my mom thought it would be a good idea to microwave the turkey. :sad2:

My SIL does do this & it actually turned out good. She puts it in a bag and does it that way every year.

Hi there Jill!!! I guess you are a member of those who forgot to take the turkey out of the freezer? :rotfl2:

When my mom did it it took about 4 hours (so it didn't cut down the cooking time) and was dried out really badly and didn't look right at all. We ended up throwing it out and going to Denny's. :sad2:

I've had that happen before... What I did was I tried turning it over every few hours or so... of course I assume she'll be sleeping so I honestly wouldn't really worry about it.

Oops, I'm not Lisa. :rolleyes1

Thank you Lisa...I mean Dody.

Nothing worse than a bird that isn't submerged... :rolleyes1

You mean there are actually boats SMALLER than a Disney boat? DW said she was on the Big Red Boat.

UGH!!!! :( Growing up the turkey was put in the night before and basted all night long. There is no way that I am going to get up every hour or so to do that so I just put it in when I get up & finish up breakfast. Works fine every time. :thumbsup2

I'm not a big fan of having to baste, I love the oven bags! Turkey still comes out nice and juicy in those. :thumbsup2

Jill,

DW is asking how everybody is doing. Autumn is ok?

We are doing ok. Autumn had her MRI on monday and it looks like she will be having a series of 3 surgeries after the holidays. They will be doing brain, neck and back surgery on her. They are changing her meds around to make her more comfortable for the next month. It looks like she will have alot of down time on the cruise but I plan on packing some of her favorite games and sitting on deck 7 with her during the day. We will also try to hit the pools when they are less busy so she can enjoy it. One good thing is that her spirit is high right now.

Thanks for asking

Jill
