I have been looking at the Black Friday ads and so far I am not too impressed. I might check out Kohls but I am not sure it will be worth the hassle.

I did not see anything either. And I don't want to spend any extra money before the cruise either.

I have to get ready to leave soon. I have Amanda's teacher conference at 1:45, then I am doing the book fair at her school until 4. Run over to pick up Sarah from marching band, run to the store, then go to Daina's preschool Thanksgiving dinner. Luckily they wanted someone to bring pizza. I do have to pick up some cupcakes somewhere in there.

I think even if we haven't met (some of us) we have "truly made life long friends"!

and I was quick enough to grab the camera when a Stealth flew over our house. This was at Nathan's 3rd birthday party. I special ordered the fly over! (At least that is what I told everyone )

And that same afternoon they started doing the first work to build houses in the big field behind our house so all of this big construction equipment was working right behind our house. I told everyone I special ordered it as well.

I sent the confirmation letter over to Samantha's dance school that she will be resigning....I feel like such a quitter. She on the other hand said "let's take swimming!", she even told DH that in a seperate conversation.

I have kind of a different pespective about "quitting". If they commit to a team, they need to finish the season. If they did not enjoy it then they don't have to sign up again. Something ongoing like dance: if they are not having fun with it then let them quit and try something else (swimming!). Life is way to short to spend time doing things you don't enjoy that you really don't HAVE to do (like work, dishes, laundry!!)

I don't know why they are being so crabby about this? I assume they have probably made some very good friendships. Any group that "talks" as much as either of our groups is bound to have some people who form good firiendships. I just can't understand why they would feel the need to say that we (or any other group here for that matter) couldn't possibly have done the same?

V - Don't feel like a quitter. I think for what you have said you are doing what is best for Samantha and that is the important thing here. Don't beat yourself up....

Probably the second stop , which will be Rasta's - (they play alot of Bob Marley - No women No cry and all that stuff ) they have a great beach here .....Also , the third bar stop which is Coconuts , there is a beach for the familys to enjoy , but we will be on top of the cliff indulging in some margaritas and Don Julio ....Who's joining me ...lol

so is the itinerary a surprise or will you let us all know?

Hi guys,

I was on this thread a day or so ago, and many of you don't really know me as I haven't really registered with the group or anything. (We are laying low!) I need your help though, as a fellow cruiser!

Our school is new -- private -- small. The school council is a mess, with a few roque women who just sort of plan things without any democratic authority.

This is driving me nuts, and chasing many people away. I have offered to work to write the bylaws, which I think will help, as we can really lay down some guidelines so it's more democratic. I've formed a committee and we plan to get to work after Christmas.

This is where I need your help!

How do your PTA/ School councils work? In particular what is the structure? Do the committees report on the council meeting what they are doing, and then the council votes, or is the committee allowed to make decisions unilaterally?

Who sits on the council?

Do you require time served?

Do all committees hold elections as to who will chair it, or do people just volunteer to chair?

Does your fundraising committee have say over how funds are spent?

Etc, etc. Etc.

I'd love to hear your feedback!

Will your kids wear them? DS wouldn't dream of it because that is for babies and DD rips all bibs off immediately. She hates them and has not let us put one on her for more than 30 seconds in probably 9-10 months. We have a lot of stained clothes because of that.

My DS is a very neat eater. He is like his mother...he hates to be messy! My DD is a disaster! She always has food in her hair. She will still wear a bib...but I am sure for not much longer. I am not sure if I will let him have a mickey bar at dinner...they are such a mess and he will be wearing very nice clothing. I may order them for Room Service for a treat now and then....maybe stick him in the tub in his underoos....

I was looking at the menus yesterday - how about:

carmelized apple cheesecake on an oreo cookie crust
chocolate mint ice cream sundae (DH will LOVE this)
the Lost banana treasure (I don't want to know!)
amaretto cheesecake


I think instead of an appertizer I am going to start off with cheesecake!

Amaretto Cheesecake!!! Are you serious!! I love amaretto and I love cheesecake...yummy! My favorite will always be Creme Brulee...but I will have amaretto Cheesecake!
