Hey,

Rub some of that luck off on the rest of us!

BTW . . . that other President must have some serious problems . . . she must have really needed the attention to make a scene like that in front of the whole church.

We have not been to church in a while. I am in a quandry. Politics there forced our current priest out, and we get a letter from the Parish council that they will NOT talk about it, or confirm or deny any rumors - they want the wounds to heal they say. Well, my experience is that wounds do not heal when the truth is not told.

I am really upset about this, and am thinking about switching parishes, but this is the church I grew up in . . . Our priest was not a perfect man (Only one was ever born) but there were a lot of people who do not forgive even a priest. I HATE politics (not the Sunday School President type - but the backstabbing type) in a church. I just want to go there to worship - not to get embroiled in controversy and gossip!

That is a tough situation. Best wishes. My DH and I both grew up in our church. When I saw how things were going with our SS I was ready to look for a different church. My friend and I both said that we can help make a change for the better. Why leave the church we love when we can help to fix the problems. Your issue seems really huge...but try to help if you can. :grouphug:

John1, have you ever tried those packets you shake and they heat up? You can put them in your socks and gloves. We used them at a game in Washington State when there was snow and ice on the bleachers. You just have to shake your foot once in a while to reactivate them. :thumbsup2

Shake your Booty, Shake your Booty....

The pastor was preaching today....about CRYING!!!! The scripture was about Laserus and Jesus weeping. He was talking about Jesus and compassion. But he was talking about crying alot...and there was the current pres....bawling. It was very awkward. We are not a Catholic church (they usually have the choir loft in the back in a loft.) Our choir loft is in the front of the church. The entire congregation saw this. It was horrible.

I was so happy that I won but I couldn't "be happy."

Usually when someone crys during one of my sermons it is for an entirely different reason!

I feel your pain Becka. DW is surprised I still have a big toe on my right foot. I am such a clutz - run it into all kinds of things. DW says because it is such a BIG big toe.

BTW - had a scare tonight - we are going to see the Cheetah girls Wed night, and just told Sophie today. Well, guess what, we could NOT find the tickets tonight! Turned every paper storage place in my desk upside down. I was ready to go NUTS.

Then as I am putting stuff away . . . look where we keep our Birth certificates, and other important stuff - there they are - sigh of relief.

(no honey, now we are not going to see the Cheetah girls, your stupid daddy put the tickets somewhere for safekeeping, and now cannot find them)

That is a serious scare! If I had been Amy, I would have had to run away from that one! Yikes!

I have never had any problems with the site or using my card. They have been in business for awhile now and seem to be very honest.

I don't know guys . . . I have always believed you get what you pay for, and when you pay so little compared to what it would cost in the store, there is something wrong. I doubt that one penny of the money they get from you goes to the artist.

I am very leery of that - even if it IS legal in Russia, it would not be legal here, and while I HATE the recording labels and how they do business, I could not use this site.

OK I've got to go. I've been on the computer doing door signs and Dising so long that DH is starting to sing the "Ballad of the DIS Geek Husbands".

I am happy for Brandi and her church. I hope that woman gets some rest. She needs it.

I've broken my right little toe so many times that I don't even notice any more. It might be easier just to cut it off. Then again I would just start breaking the next one in line.

Night all. :wave2:

G'nite Patsy....Ow ow ow!

My mom always told me, people are not perfect, they are not what is true, the teachings are true. I work very hard at never being involved in any of that at church. I only work with children and I love them and I love going to church. That's the way it works for me.

I will not eat them with a crust or without a crust .... John1 I am (not)

Poor attempt at humor with the veiled Dr Suess reference

Amy told me I need to get those, but I did not see them at Dick's. Maybe I will try Gander Mountain.

John,

This is kind of funny, but they sell them in our grocery stores here. :rotfl:

I wish I could Brandi, but I am not an "insider" at church. Believe it or not, I am very quiet at church, go to church when I can, sit in the back, and mind my own business. I go to church to find peace, and I think lots of the people go to find something else.

It does not worry me for myself, I am very confident in what I believe and think, but I have Sophia to worry about, and I want her to have some foundation like I did when I was young. Our "koumbari" (Sophia's Godparents) go to the other Greek Orthodox church in town, and I am strongly considering making the switch, but it will be strange. Although, I was baptized in that church.
