you guys have me thinking I should get the Disney Visa. I usually use a Northwest Airlines card but it's like that commercial with David Spade, I want to use the miles and they say NO. Actually they say sure, but it will cost you 50k miles per ticket instead of 25k. Totally bugs me. I've started using my Amex now just cuz the points are more usable. But a lot of my vendors still don't take Amex, even though it's btb (argh), so I need some kind of visa or mc. Questions for those who have this card:

1. Can you use the points to pay for your DCL cruise, or just for your stateroom account?

2. Do they ever offer bonuses for signing up, or do I just go ahead and get one now to start racking up the points? ;)

thanks for the help!
You can use the points for anything Disney. WDW, DL, tickets, Cruise, onboard account, merchandise. They may offer bonus occasionally. We have had ours since "Day One" :)

Roundtrip airfare for 4 non-stop from Kansas City to Orlando on Southwest for our dates right now is $468.xx. :scratchin

What do I do? We also could fly in Thursday evening for the same price and stay at WDW and visit a park on Friday if we wanted. Of course we would have the added hassle of the car seat, rental car, less luggage, etc.. What should we do?

FLY, 30 minutes in the airport is way better then hours in the car.

Becka,

This is the one I bought I love it already, haven't practiced with it as much as I should have, but I have a week at Disney before the cruise. And you have kids to practice on, lol. Has lots of cool stuff and I was able to start shooting right out of the box, super easy.

is anyone near Williamsberg, VA or Charlottesville VA? We'll be in those two places the week of Thanksgiving... I am so jealous of you East coasters who get together all the time it seems! Maybe I'll just drive down to... Kansas? Missouri? I think that's the closest anyone is to us here in MN.

Remember how there was a glaring lack of midwesterners in the Dis geeks map? I think it's cuz people here just don't get the concept. I don't know why, but all our friends think we're totally nuts to go on a Disney cruise. Personally, I think it's insane not to go on one, LOL. But I don't know if we ever would have done it if my parents, who live in VA, hadn't arranged it last year. Now we're hooked.

Our friends just go to "the cabin" usually for vacation, or visit rellies. I need a vacation *after* I do either of those!

There's a couple of us in Maryland!

Oh yeah, when I get a call like that I play dumb (I'm good at it...) "Oh really, do we have to...you know we have steak and burgers at home and stuff...Oh well, I guess..if you want to. <sulk> :bounce: :bounce: "

Having Dinner and DISing. I went to Zellers (Target) and they had my romance novels on 40% off, stocked up, lol.

Sorry Becka, I missed part of this conversation. Are you saying that you can either fly in on Saturday or you can fly in on Thursday night and you'll save enough to pay for WDW resort and tickets? I would say go for that. We're going down on Thursday, Magical Express to WDW, limo to port, then DCL transfer from port to airport. So no car seats or rental car... but luggage, well there is luggage and we will have to pack it up twice and lug it a bit from our rooms to the limo. But I am excited to see the Christmas party thing so I'm very happy to go to WDW, even if just for a day.

If you want to stay at WDW before the cruise, call and make your ressies now as I am afraid all the rooms might be gone already -- you'll have to stalk them for an opening, but hopefully it will work out!
