Post #1 for me on the DisBoards... lurked for quite a while and figured what the heck. I post on other boards under "imayoyo" as well. Long time professional Cast Member in Celebration, and I'm excited to say I'm getting married on the 12/04/08 Cruise on the Wonder on Castaway Cay:) YAY! Very excited.

ANNNNNNNNND since no one had started a role call for this one, guess I oughta.

HI! I started a thread back on 11/9/07 and nobody ever replied. I was beginning to think I was the only DISer sailing on 12/4/08! :sad2:

I'll be joining you on this cruise. CONGRATS on your wedding! You are SO lucky to be getting married on CC...I'm jealous. DCL wasn't around when I got married...it was in the works, I'm sure, but not sailing yet! We got married on 8/25/95. We're probably going to renew our vows at some point either at WDW or CC.

Maybe we can start organizing a DIS meet onboard or prior to boarding at the terminal (if you have time for a DIS meet). Let me know! I'm trying to meet as many DISers on this trip as I can. I've been reading Glendamax's TR's from her solo trips to WDW and she meets so many wonderful DISers.

Well, good luck with your planning!! :goodvibes

IMAYOYO - I'm bumping this to see if anyone else will be joining us on this cruise. I plan on having a fish extender on my door and I have already started purchasing goodies to put in other DISer's fish extenders. I know they are more popular on the 7 day cruises, but I'd like to make them popular on the 3 day cruise, too!! :goodvibes

Come on DISer's...who else is joining us on this cruise?! Don't be shy...introduce yourself. :)

I'm just bumping this thread to see if anyone else is planning on going on this cruise!! IMAYOYO - I'm not trying to take over your thread...I'm just really looking forward to meeting other DISer's on this cruise. I know it's a short cruise, but there have to be others joining us!! :confused3

Sorry for the lack of responses, been busy at work. I'm excited as well:) Our save-the-date cards are magnets, so our wedding guests will all have them on their doors. They look great! We used a picture we took from the HeadsUp Bar towards the ship with the two inter-locked life-rafts in the foreground. It turned out great! My sister is on WDWMAGIC, but not on Disboards, she'll be on the ship as well.

We're going to cruise in May as well to plan our picture spots, but I have to wait until Space Available cruises are announced before I can book it. Very excited. May cruise will be #9, making the wedding cruise #10!

Those save the date magnets are really neat...my best friend sent those out to everyone for her wedding. I still have it on my fridge even though her wedding was about 4 years ago.

I am so jealous that you get to do two cruises this year!!

This will be the first cruise for me, DH (Tim), DD 12 (Annie), and DD 10 (Megan).
We're excited already!! I pre-ordered the new Passporter DCL guide, and I think it's due to come in March. I can't wait to mark that baby up with a few highlighters!!!!!
I'll take any tips you guys want to offer, as this is all very new to us.
Thanks for the introductions!
Imayoyo, CONGRATULATIONS on your upcoming wedding!!! :cloud9: These 10 months are going to FLY by--enjoy the anticipation and the planning!
Take care,
Katie :goodvibes

YAH!!!! Somebody else joining us on the cruise!! Welcome to this thread!!

The best advice I can give you is to just relax and enjoy the cruise. You're going to be overwhelmed by all there is to do on the cruise and since it's only a 3 night cruise, you're not going to have enough time to do everything. Maybe look at some navigators prior to the cruise (they can be found on the main page of the DISboards) to see what activities you think you might enjoy. That way you won't waste valuable vacation time on the ship reading the navigators. You may change your mind once you're actually there, but at least you'll have some kind of idea of what you want to do.

Make sure to see the shows, especially Dreams. And since it's only a 3 night cruise, I would skip Palo and just do the regular dining rotation so you get to sample each of the beautiful restaurants for dinner.

You should just stay on the ship while it's docked at Nassau...unless you REALLY REALLY want to see Nassau. But most people think it's a waste of time. Disney has to dock there, though, because the ships are registered in the Bahamas.

PM me if you have any other questions!! :goodvibes

Luckymomoftwo,
I'm a lucky mom of two as well!! Thanks for the good cruise advice.
I'll definitely PM you if I get confused about something.
Looking forward to meeting you!!!
Katie :goodvibes

This will be our 3rd Cruise on the Wonder. me, dh, ds(5), ds(3). I have lurked here for a while and gotten lots of good tips!!
imayoyo-congratulations on your wedding!!!
Luckymomoftwo and KatieLovesMickey - looks like we already have something in common - I am a lucky mom of two as well!!!
Luckymomoftwo - I also am planning on having a fish extender and would love to exchange, especially for the kids. Count me in for a DIS meet !!!

Take care,

Rebecca

How cool! We are all "Lucky moms of two"!! Maybe that will be the theme of the cruise :lmao:

Conex4-I'd love to exchange goodies in the fish extenders!!

10 months from today!!!:dance3: :dance3:

Has anyone done Atlantis on their own? Usually we just stay on the ship, but this time, I would like to try the water taxis to Atlantis.

We did Atlantis on our own the very first time we went back in 98. That was before they actually had excursions for it. We walked through the gigantic fish tanks, walked by the pool that looks like it is part of the ocean, took a peak at the sting ray section, and then walked through the casino. It was really neat. We haven't been back since, so I don't know what has changed in 10 years.

But, Atlantis would be the only reason we would get off the ship at Nassau!! So, I would say go for it if you haven't "been there done that" yet! :)

What's a fish extender, and what goes into it???:confused3
Thanks!
Katie

Katie,
Here is a link to another thread on the boards that is all about Fish Extenders. There is another thread somewhere that talks about what people have put in them, but I can't find it right now. I'll post it later if I find it. But, people have put all different sorts of things...candy, magnets from their home state, trading pins, pirate/carribbean tattoos, pirate rubber duckies. Some of the stuff can be ordered from Oriental Trading Company. We already purchased some stuff to pass out (because we bought some for our DCL House Party in January), we purchased some pirate saying rubber bracelets, pirate bubbles, pirate rubber duckies, pirate stickers, carribbean tattoos, princess wands (from the dollar store). I think that's it. It's just a fun little way to do like a little gift exchange type thing on the cruise between fellow DISers. OH...since it's Christmas time that we'll be there, I also bought some Christmas pencils and erasers to put in the ones we pass out.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607

I haven't made one yet...I purchased the materials to make one, but I haven't started it yet. I'm not good with a sewing machine so I need to wait for my sister to help me! :lmao:

You're wonderful--thank you!
It's all clear to me now...
There are actually a few on ebay today, but none with Mickey, my favorite... There was a Cars one, and a few with Pooh.
Enjoy your weekend!
Katie :goodvibes

So any good tips for a honeymoon? We're thinking either 12 days in italy, or a short trip to Disneyland combined with coming back for a 7 night Western on the magic. What do you think? Italy or western/DL?

The only tip I have is relax and enjoy it!! It will go by so fast. I have never been to Italy but we love to cruise - so my vote is for dl/cruise. I would love to hear more about your wedding planning. Have you confirmed your May cruise yet?

In my opinion if Italy is a trip you may never take in your life other than your honeymoon...go to Italy. It seems as though it would be easier to put together a trip to Disneyland and/or Disney Cruise Line than a trip to Italy. But, that's just my thoughts. Your money situation and travel experiences may be completely different than mine.

We honeymooned at WDW and if I had things to do over again, I probably would have picked something more quiet and more intimate. Don't get me wrong...I enjoyed my honeymoon, I'm just saying if I had a choice between Italy or Disney, I'd probably choose Italy because we go do Disney and Disney Cruise Line almost every year.

Good luck with your decision! And congratulations on the wedding!!
