11th Anniversary Trip - WDW - 12/4-12/9 - p. 5, Epilogue and Final Thoughts

Lexmelinda: I think the main reason we were able to write this so fast was that we have been using it as an excuse not to clean the house!

princess@heart: Thanks for reading. I can't wait to read your TR! Have a great trip!

Oh, and Lexmelinda is right. Once you get into this TR board, it's like we're all becoming friends.:grouphug:

BTW, I have the same Pooh and Tigger shirt as you and we just ordered the black Mickey luggage. I wanted the red, but I would have wanted 2 sets so it all matches. DH wouldn't let me spend $140 on luggage. So I also ordered the luggage straps for our checked luggage so it will be easier to identify. Plus that gave me the $60 minimum for the free shipping offer! ;)

That's my favorite shirt! :thumbsup2 As for the luggage, there was a huge sale at the time we bought it. Since we had no usable luggage, we bought 2 sets. If you look at the picture, both suitcases are the same size, each from a separate set.

Okay, I know this is totally not cool, but by posting this I will have reached my goal of 50 posts so that I can earn my ears. Please forgive my neediness...:cool1: Now I can go to bed.

Whew.... I just spent the last few hours reading your whole TR! It's great and I'm so sad it's almost over!
How lucky to have an "adults only" trip and leave the kiddos at home!

Oh, oh, oh.... and thanks for my cameo!!!

I'm hoping for free dining so I can upgrade from POFQ to WL. Have you stayed there before? Bummer we're going to miss eachother this summer, would have loved to toss back a few margaritas with you guys! :dance3:

Can't wait to read your final thoughts!

Can't wait to read final thoughts!! I'm addicted to this TR. :lmao: I guess because DH and I will be celebrating our Anniversary one evening while there in Feb. I can't imagine getting a whole trip to do it!:thumbsup2

PS- Is there a picture of the famous shirt???

We're glad you liked it! Of course we gave you a cameo. You are the reason we got hooked TRs in the first place.

We've never stayed at WL. Prior to this we always stayed at the Poly. We're pretty excited, although we will still go to the Lilo and Stitch Breakfast at Ohana!

Happy Anniversary.

There seem to be two famous shirts. The one I call my favorite you can see really well on Day1-Part2 when I'm standing with the Bear at Fort Wilderness. It has a picture of Pooh looking at a Tiger and saying, Tigger, is that you? :rotfl: I got it at Animal Kingdom last year. The other one is the DIS shirt that I made for T:love: , which shrunk and only fits me. I am not very artistic, so imagine the amount of time it took for me to learn to hand paint the Disney font! That shirt started out as an extra large and now it is somewhere between a large and a medium!

As for the luggage, there was a huge sale at the time we bought it. Since we had no usable luggage, we bought 2 sets. If you look at the picture, both suitcases are the same size, each from a separate set.

Yeah, when I ordered mine, the black was $50 a set, the olive was $60, and the red was $70. So for 2 sets of the red, it would have been $140. We already have some usable luggage, so we just got one set of the black. :sad1: It came in the mail yesterday. The biggest bag seems kinda small to me, but I tend to over pack.

Thanks for the trip report...it was awesome!!!

Thanks for reading! :thumbsup2 It was a pretty awsome trip for us. We've already told my mom, the Saint  , that we won't ask her to do anything like this again until the kids are more self-sufficient.

The final thoughts and epilogue installment is taking a bit longer to post than we thought. This week is shaping up to be a killer.

After having the cookie rally with the girls, DW is now off training the troop leaders on cookie administration. Sounds like my kind of administration...:) I finally got DDs to bed and can take a breather, although I probably should go check to make sure that they are actually trying to go to sleep instead of chatting...

Ditto.

I can't believe our next family trip is so rapidly approaching. Our ADR window opens in something like three days. :woohoo: I was hoping to chat with DW about it tonight, but it's looking like the meeting she's running on cookie administration for the troop leaders in her girl scout service unit is running a bit on the long side. Good thing for my DDs from whom I hear occasional peeps as DW is more likely to lower the boom on them for not being asleep at this point...

We've never stayed at WL. Prior to this we always stayed at the Poly. We're pretty excited, although we will still go to the Lilo and Stitch Breakfast at Ohana!
From our January 2006 farewell breakfast. :stitch:

For a little historical perspective, from our July 2002 farewell breakfast. :mickeyjum

We were also thinking about POFQ as a possibility when planning our July trip. We ultimately came down on the side of convenience to MK. We'll branch a bit more than when the kids were really small, but I think the kids will still want to hit MK more heavilly than the other parks.

First, congratulations on your anniversary! :thumbsup2 If your younger were a wee bit older, I'd suggest one of the kids' clubs one evening. We tried the Neverland club during our trip in 11/2003. DDs enjoyed it so much that all through the day at AK they kept asking when they could go back.

I thiink this is the shirt you're talking about:

After much searching, I found it at GF in my size. It's a short sleeve polo. I can get away with wearing to work without feeling too casual. Of course, it's quite a step up from the days that I go into the office wearing jeans and a t-shirt...:rotfl:

DW's now had a chance to see the shirt pictures and has informed me that I should have waited until after it made it through the laundry before taking pictures. :laundy: Ah well, I'm not sure its worth a before and after, but we'll see.

I agree on the size. Thankfully for the July trip with the five of us we'll be packing for warm weather. Even so, I expect will take advantage of the fact that we're driving, so we can use the extra space in the minivan with duffels and additional bags. We can also just pack up souvenirs in the car rather than suitcases.

Great Report, love the pics!! We had an adults only trip when our first was 2, and ended up bringing home a little Disney Magic (DD)! I can't wait to go this April with the kids, but I long to go back just DH and I. Congrats on your 11 yrs! :goodvibes jen

I wish I had the stamina to do a drive down there. I can't handle more than 3 hours in a car. I go nuts! LOL

Anyways, thanks for a great trip report. After telling DH about the Starbucks and refillable mugs at the Dolphin, his face said it all... "I know where we are going to stay on our next trip!" :rotfl:

I love the Lilo & Stitch breakfast we did, also on our last day as a farewell. I think we will do it again.
I love the pics w/ your kids... they're cuties! :cutie:

We still have a little while before our ADR window. I already have all our "preferred" restaurants, but we need 1 more. I'll have to find another soon.

I can't wait to hear about your next trip. Hope you guys will do a pre-trip report... hint, hint, hint!

Now get going on that final thoughts installment! ;)

Thanks for the Anniversary wishes! I love the new shirt! I got all 3 of us a few polo style shirts from disneyshopping.com during the Christmas sales. They just have a tiny Mickey on them but are really nice looking. I was able to get some long sleeve and short sleeve ones.:thumbsup2 But, I REALLY like your shirt. Very nice. (PS- I do like the other shirts too. The DIS one...Nice Job! And the Pooh one...TOO FUNNY!!) Thanks for sharing.:cool1:
