11th Anniversary Trip - WDW - 12/4-12/9 - p. 5, Epilogue and Final Thoughts

I wish I had the stamina to do a drive down there. I can't handle more than 3 hours in a car. I go nuts! LOL

Anyways, thanks for a great trip report. After telling DH about the Starbucks and refillable mugs at the Dolphin, his face said it all... "I know where we are going to stay on our next trip!" :rotfl:

We're a bit closer than you are! The hardest part is DD7 needs to stop to use the bathroom every 45 minutes or so. It's something about the motion of the car.:confused3

Yes, the coffee was definitely a bonus of being in a non-Disney hotel. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the Anniversary wishes! I love the new shirt! I got all 3 of us a few polo style shirts from disneyshopping.com during the Christmas sales. They just have a tiny Mickey on them but are really nice looking. I was able to get some long sleeve and short sleeve ones.:thumbsup2 But, I REALLY like your shirt. Very nice. (PS- I do like the other shirts too. The DIS one...Nice Job! And the Pooh one...TOO FUNNY!!) Thanks for sharing.:cool1:

We got polos with little Mickeys too. Disneyoutlet is a fun site:cheer2: .

Epilogue: Our final thoughts: yeah right!:rolleyes1

Mrs. T starting:
There's a few things we left out along the way. Firstly, we did remember to buy a present for the Saint and Mr. Saint. We got them Grandma/Grandpa WDW mugs. Also, we didn't mention that we talked to our kids every day. It doesn't matter how far away we are, we're still parents first.

As for the trip itself, it was THE most wonderful trip I have taken in my life. I can't believe how much fun we had. Even the day I went back to the hotel to sleep was great! I mean, when can I ever just go to sleep when I want to!:laundy:

Oh, and I love that when T got to the stage of having a mid-life crisis, he became Disney-obsessed!:yay: :yay: Some of my friends' husbands just got motorcycles or worse!

:dance3: :rainbow: :dance3: :rainbow: :dance3:

My turn - T-i-double-g-err:
This trip was just awesome. :goodvibes Until the children are mostly self-sufficient, we are not likely to have the chance to do anything like this again. It makes me really appreciate my DM for going many extra miles for us. The mug just doesn't do it justice.

We're working on the planning for our family trip in July. None of our dinner ADRs from this trip will be repeated. Not because we did not care for the restaurants but because they really would not be where our kids would have the most fun, or where we would have the most fun watching our kids. :grouphug:

I think we also now have a greater appreciation for staying in an area of WDW outside the MK loop. We absolutely love the boardwalk and can see a possible stay at the Boardwalk Inn in our future.

I'm not sure we'll be staying at the Swan or Dolphin, barring a really good room rate, or a lot of accumulated Starwood points which I do not want to live through acquiring again. I think we like having the immersive theming of the Disney managed resorts, although I feel a little bit the same way about staying at the Contemporary. I also think we may be tempted to try some of the moderates to see if we can get the immersive theming without quite so high a price tag.

As a next to last word, thank you everyone for following us as we recounted our latest travels through WDW. :thanks: I hope that we will get a chance to meet some of you during future trips. We'll be living vicariously with y'all through your TRs until then.

Finally, Jedi Mickey has found his home in my office awaiting whomever shall join him from our next trips.

(We'll see who gets to the single malt first. :drinking1 Mickey's closer, plus he's more proficient with the force.)

Four parks/One world mugs like mine? Great choice!!!
It makes me really appreciate my DM for going many extra miles for us. The mug just doesn't do it justice.
They didn't do it for the mug and neither will you when you have a chance to be with your own grandkids. ;)

I can understand. There is a great deal of convenience in being in the MK loop I'm sure but it's not so bad being at the mods.....believe me!
As a next to last word, thank you everyone for following us as we recounted our latest travels through WDW.
Thanks to you both for taking us with you! I thoroughly enjoyed it! And thanks for the thoughtful responses to all my questions. You guys are the best and I can't wait to hear about your July trip. Take care!!! :)

Wonderful TR! Happy belated anniverary too.

My DH & I were just at WDW (Dec. 12 - 20) and we're planning an anniversary trip this coming May (we're driving down this time). We can't wait!

Belated Congrats and thanks for the wonderful Trippie. I read top to bottom today and loved your descriptions.:thumbsup2

Thanks so much for the great trip report.:thumbsup2 As the above poster did, I read this from start to finish today and truly enjoyed it. Great pics, and I love that you wear your Disney clothes everyday!pooh: :tigger: :smickey: I especially love your patriotic mickey T & sweatshirt!

DH & I will be traveling to the World in December to celebrate our 20th Anniversary and can't wait!

Thanks again!

I had a really great time reading your TR! Happy Anniversary! :goodvibes

-Michelle

P.S. If you're going to try and stay around the Boardwalk area again in the future, you should look into renting DVC points and stay in a Boardwalk Villa, not the Inn! :thumbsup2

P.P.S I really like your lime green T-shirts! :magnify:

Lexmelinda - Thanks again for reading! We enjoyed following along with your family in your TR. As to the mods, I think your TR and views of POR contributed significantly to our interest in checking them out. DW and I will need to start thinking about putting up a pre-TR for the July tirp. Our cast will include the Saint plus DW's cousin. The adults will outnumber the kids (assuming that you count me in the adult category). How did that happen?

Mischa - I'm glad you enjoyed our TR. We REALLY enjoyed the trip. We had a bunch of new Disney experiences for us. We also were able to preview some attractions for our upcoming family trip in July. I know of at least two or three that we enjoyed that wiill require some preparation of one or more of our children, or we may split the group for alternative touring.

Have a great time on your anniversary trip in May! :thumbsup2

Pooksma - Thanks for coming along on the ride. I like the fact that actually putting together the TR helps to lock in the memories and refresh the details! :goodvibes

TKDizneyluver - Thanks for reading our TR!

I hope your and your DH have a great anniversary trip. I'd strongly recommend picking up anniversary pins for the trip. It was nice touring the park and getting the anniversary wishes from CMs and other visitors. I also found that as a side effect it made me more attentive to the event pins worn by other visitors around me. I found myself wishing people happy birthdays and anniversary and congratulating newlyweds. I hope my wishes helped to make those people's trips happier and more memorable.

I take a certain amount of ribbing from my co-workers about the Disney attire, but I'm just glad that I'm working in a job where most days I can wear whatever I want. I've been wearing the stars & stripes Mickey sweatshirt most of the winter as I like layering. I can never tell when the office will be too hot or an ice box. In addition to the polo, I picked up a pretty cool t-shirt that I found on my during the quest for the polo. It's got sorcerer mickey embroidered in the center with a swirl around him with embroider icons representing the other parks: the castle, spaceship earth, the hat and the tree. Here are a couple of pictures of it:

mlill - Thanks for the anniversary wishes! We didn't feel comfortable leaving the kids for our 10th when DS was only 3, so we put some effort into this one for 11.

Thanks for the advice on BWV. We may have to consider that. With the family of five, one room will be getting a bit on the crowded side as the kids get older. It also limits our choice of resorts if we want to only book a single room. The last family trip included, and the one coming in July includes, additional family, so we've opted for multiple rooms.

Now, I think DW and I will need to follow the links to your TRs. popcorn:: Wow two trips in late 2006! That's almost dream-like. I like the family photo; you have a good looking family. Other than birth order, it looks like your family has the same number and gender distribution as ours.

Congratulations on dream fastpasses! I'm guessing I'll read about the magical moment when your family got them in one of your TRs. pixiedust:

Thank you again to everyone whose read along with our TR!

Thanks so much for the well wishes, we are truly looking forward to a "romantic" Disney experience, with holiday cheer to go along.

And thank you for the tips about the pins. I will truly enjoy getting well wishes and above all giving well wishes! Talk about a warm fuzzy.:)

I love, love, love the Sorcerer Mickey polo!:smickey: He is my favorite Mickey and I would love to have that shirt. That's another can't wait thing to do on our trip, SHOP!

Looking forward to your family adventures from your July trip! Have a great vacation!:yay:

What a great report.. DH and I will be going to disney for our 5th Anniversary with no kids and are so excited.  The kids are a little upset about staying in the Ohio cold and going to school.:cold: :cold:

However, I reminded the DS they were in Fl. last year without us and DD that she was in Disneyland for New Years without use... The teenage years are giving us a little more freedom.

Thanks for all the great insight and ideas... We will make sure we pick up Anniversary buttons....:tinker: :tinker:

Less the 2 weeks and counting... :hourglass :hourglass

Congratulations

Thank you for a wonderful trip report. We just celebrated our 40th at WDW. It's a very romantic place to visit. I loved your pictures. Now I see two shirts that I must have the next time we go.

What a fabulous trip report! Thanks for sharing. I love the "tigger is that you" shirt too. I would have purchased it when we were there...but not in my size! :rotfl2:

I lacked your determination....
:)
