11 Year Old Gives Birth to Baby on her Wedding Day!

The second link shows a beautiful baby girl with a beautiful young girl. Both are children, both should be playing. I do not pass judgement on Gypsies at all but if that was one of my girls there would be heck to pay....I wish them all the best!

I found it to be pretty disturbing that she said she was packing up her toys because this is her new toy that she can play with. Yikes!

I read that part and I'm pretty darn sure my face was like this:

Being from Europe, we have more experience with Gypsies than most Americans do. For Gypsies, marrying young is not a strange thing, and many Gypsy women will have a full home before they hit their mid 20's. Having many children is something they value. The age of the mom is not so important for most Roma.

For the gypsies around here, children are valued because they HAVE value. Not trying to sound rude, but children under the age of 4 are the bread winners. They produce more sympathy. A woman carrying a baby will get far more money than a person with diabetic eaten feet.

Obviously the emotionally and mental state of this girl isn't developed yet but what about physically? Wouldn't childbirth affect her body? What about hormones? Also, this girl is not emotionally able to take care of a child and the grandmother would be taking care of the baby, but what if something happens to the grandmother, is it likely that this "toy" as the girl states, would be taken care of?

... :confused3 she probably couldn't make the gymnastics team, soooo....guess she went with 'Plan B'....

[...J/K....SRSLY, what a disturbing story...]

.

While I would never want this for my daughter and from my point of view as a citizen of the US, this is crazy wrong. I guess though that if it's their culture, I can't judge.

I agree.

I have lived in countries that send their kids out selling gum, candy and other small items and found it quite disturbing, especially seeing them at 2:00 am or later when they should be home asleep. Whole different culture and way of life, still doesn't make it okay to me.
