11 Year Old Gives Birth to Baby on her Wedding Day!

Yes, you read that right! I dont even know what to say. The girl seems happy and proud about it, but then again she's 11 so really she cant fully comprehend how crazy this whole thing is!

where are her parents?! how does an 11 year old not only have a BABY but get MARRIED!?!?

and what is wrong with this guy!!
isnt it interesting that the 19 year old "husband" claimed he thougth she was 15, yet he "rescued" her from bullies on the playground. i dont know how the school system works where shes from but really, he must have had an idea she was a child not a teenager!! and he was just so kind to rescue her from school yard bullies and then take advantage and impregnate a child!!!!

what is the world coming to!!!!

I found it to be pretty disturbing that she said she was packing up her toys because this is her new toy that she can play with. Yikes!

Ok, 11 is pretty young but this is a story from Bulgaria, not the US-different culture, different standards--but 11 is still really young.

Goodness gracious! At 11 I wasn't even developed......

WOW!

Wow! Very disturbing.

And check out the see-through wedding dress. :scared1:

i actually didnt see it was from Bulgaria, but i agreee, no matter where it took place 11 years old is so so so young.

This is so disturbing. I don't care how un PC this sounds but if their culture accepts this then they are all sick and [edited] up

It is so sad on so many levels that I really need time to think before I post anymore on this subjuect.

OMG. Sick. Pathetic. Disturbing. Crazy. Insane. Stupid. Sad. Sad. Sad.

I read that too. How sad. :(

Yikes!
The baby's 19-year-old dad, Jeliazko, met Kordeza when he rescued her from bullies in the playground.

"I was walking past the school when I saw some boys mocking her and I told them to leave her alone," he said. "Then she arranged to meet me and asked me out on our first date.

"We didn't plan to have sex or a baby, although I fell in love with Kordeza the moment I saw her," Jeliazko said.

But within a week, Kordeza was pregnant - and Jeliazko was facing six years in jail for having sex with a minor. The age of consent in Bulgaria is 14.

So sad and so wrong, on so many levels!! :sad2:
Where is the fairness of all the childless couples, who have all the provisions to offer, would love to have a baby, and can't?!?! ::confused3

It is sad. My dd is 11. I can't even imagine her or any of her friends being moms now. Age 11 means being more of a child than an adult. :guilty:

It is disgusting and I'm happy they are bringing him up on charges. 11!

And they had sex within a week of them meeting. I can't believe her family allowed him to marry her. They had to give some kind of consent. I can't believe this girl wasn't victimized and now she is married to the guy!

I'm glad to hear the grandmother's will have custody of the baby. At least they have more experience than an 11 year old.

I read that - Very disturbing.

:scared1:
Now I am only going on an assumption here, but the articles say that they were having a "Roma" wedding, which would mean they are most likely Gypsies.

Being from Europe, we have more experience with Gypsies than most Americans do. For Gypsies, marrying young is not a strange thing, and many Gypsy women will have a full home before they hit their mid 20's. Having many children is something they value. The age of the mom is not so important for most Roma.

And just to be clear, I am not bashing Gypsies. Just trying to explain why the article makes it appear that an 11 year old mom is not so strange to the families.

I noticed that too. I also saw that they said it wasn't so unusual but hoped that she wouldn't go that route.

Wow, 11 though...
