I would love to hear any feedback that has sent an older child to the child care center in AKL. Did they like it? Was it too babyish? My DH and I would really like to have an evening out, but I don't want to put my DS through torture?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!!

We used Simba's Clubhouse last summer for my DD, who was 5 at the time. She had such a good time! (She was only there for one hour, while we had dinner at BOMAs) She got to pick her own dinner - hotdog, FF, choc milk; her favorite was coloring with markers. On the night Allison went, there were only about 6 other kids there, and they all seemed to be having a great time! Allison has been begging to go back!

There are games to play, a few video games if I remember correctly, and movies to watch, markers, colors, dolls, etc. I would suggest checking it out the first night you are there and see if he'd like it.

I would call and ask to speak to someone at Simba Club House. I would ask them the questions that pertain to your concerns. My DD was babysitting at 11 not for infants but for toddlers. I think that the age is a concern, he is too young to be comfortable staying in the room alone and too old to be with alot of babies. If they have video games and movies for him that may be okay though. I would talk to him about it too.

My DD stayed there when she was 10 1/2 and she loved it and wanted to go back. The CM taught her some words in an African language (Swahili? not sure now). Plus, as already mentioned they have video games and other things for older kids.

I had taken my sister's boys to WDW when they were 9, 11 & 15.
On the night we were going to Epcot, the 9 yo was acting up, so we booked him in the club at the Y&B. The 11 YO, took a look at the computers and asked if he could stay too. This was 5 years ago. I had a nice quiet meal with my 15 yo nephew and the other two said they liked the club. When they were 5 and 7 they went to the Neverland Club when they had the animal visits and they had a good time there also. I guess it depends on the child.

I'd say it definately depends on the child. My son last went to the cub's den at WL when he was 9. After that year he had absolutely no interest in the "kid clubs". Now my daughter would probably still like it at 12 but it wouldn't be for my son.

They have a big screen TV and video games as well as arts and crafts stuff too. I think it too depends on the child but my kids just loved being able to stretch out on the floor and watch the TV like at home. They also played the video games too.

My big for his age and mature for his age 10 1/3 year old stayed in Simbas clubhouse and his only complaint was that they were very strict about turning off the video/arcade games at 10pm and would not allow them to play after that hour. The other clubs (Neverland and Mouseketeer) did not enforce any games off time. He would much, much rather hang out and play video games than sit in a fine restaurant.
