I can't contain myself. I eat, sleep and work thinking about our trip on the 25th. DH and I have not let the kids in on it and still don't know how to break the news to them. All, I know is that the closer it gets, the more people ask if we are getting excited the more worried I am that we will slip in front of the kids. I have tons of stuff hiding in my closet and am beginning to think I should start packing! YAY! It felt like it was never going to get here when we booked in February! :cheer2:

:cheer2::cheer2:YEAH!!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

I am so jealous I still have to wait 4 months!!

When are you going to tell the kids???

You have given me confidence that I too can wait and not tell our kids.

We will tell the kids when we pick them up from school at lunchtime...but still have NO idea how to tell them! I need ideas!

Wait until you get there and see there faces, then you wont have to tell them. That would be a bigger surprise!!

My kids think ALL planes lead to Disney, so that would only get us to the airport. And, since we surprised them with a trip once before they will guess it right before we get far from home (and when they see the suitcases in the car)

So, I need a way to surprise them before we get too far from home and they figure it out!

How old are your kids? You could make a Disney goodie bag for each kid and hand them out when you pick them up to leave. A autograph book, pen, snacks, flashlight, games for the plane.

You could pick them up and say nonchalantly(sp) "Let's do something fun today, DH could say how about a family outing to DISNEYWORLD!!!!" Or something more clever than that.

We are driving so after the kids are in the car they will each get a box. When they open it, a balloon will pop out that has an invitation to stay at Wilderness Lodge where we're staying - and I made them each a tshirt (thanks to creative designers on the disboards) - it says "We're on our Way to Disney World".

I do have goodie bags for them. I am going to sign them out and you know they are going to ask what we are doing as soon as they see me at the desk. I was going to tell them they were going to G'ma's house so Mommy and Daddy could go on an anniversary vacation (our anniversary is during our trip), but not sure if DH wants to torture them first. :rolleyes1

The shirt idea is one I thought of early on when I saw "We are going to Disneyworld" shirts on disneystore.com. But, they were pricey. I have some Mickey confetti I was thinking of having DH throw at them  as they open the door to the car! :rotfl: I was also going to have their Pirate Mickey Ears in their 'seats' in the car, but DH thought that was too baby-ish. I bet they would wear them on the plane the entire time!

BTW - could you share your shirt design with me? Or a link to the thread where you found it? THX!

I was going to order them too - but they were too much money. What I did was order transfer paper from AmyMickey.com, shirts from Michaels or craft store and get the template off Creative disboards. It's very easy to do.

5 sheets for $15
3 shirts from Michaels $12
That would only be $27 for 3 shirts and much cheaper than order from disneystore. I think you still have time to do this before your trip

How about a phone call from Mickey Mouse?

I think its called Enchanted phone calls? We did it for our girls while we had a long layover in Atlanta

I'm leaving on a surprise Birthday trip on the 23rd with my dd who's going to be 10!! See you there..lol.

I downloaded the Mickey Mouse Happy Birthday song onto my ipod which I plan on playing once we get into the car on the way to the airport. Hopefully she'll figure it out. I can't wait either! I'm dying to tell her but this is going to be so much fun! I was just upstairs packing toiletries, towels, swimsuits and stuff and had to stop myself.

Make sure you videotape the kids when you tell them. I could watch our video over and over on the one surprise trip we did. Our dds, then age 8 and 4, were in total shock. The looks on their faces were priceless. :goodvibes

So you are picking them up early? Maybe you can make one of the balloon boxes and have one of the staff give it to them before they see you.
