11 Days of Disney Food!!! Full Reviews of TS and CS Restaurants!

...Tony's is one of our Fav's. We celebrated a birthday there and had arranged for a cake to be brought in, ahead of time...they had confetti and zingies and other decorations on the table...our server was great fun...and the food was fabulous. We live near Chicago...so the prices on the menu didn't seem to be too steep to us...and the steak I had...was of an excellent flavor....and very tender.

We also enjoyed the Sci-Fi....the food was very good there....very flavorful. We both ordered one of the drinks with the light-up ice-cubes in it....(just because we collect light-up things.... ...)
.....I was surprised ;) that these restaurants were as good as they were...due to the negative reviews that I had read here....but......
....We are going back to Disney in September...and Tony's is our first restaurant....AGAIN.....and we can hardly wait...!!!! Thanks for the great reviews......!!!!

Great reviews! The first thing I thought when I read your description of your eating habits was "Oh MAN, they's a gonna be SI-ICK later in the trip!!!" I used to be on a strict diet like that (hockey training *groan*) and I got stupid sick whenever I went off it for some junk food!!

Case in point: what happened at Beaches and Cream... Something similar happened to me when I snapped one day and ate two chili dogs, a chocolate milkshake and a poutine (a Quebec thing - french fries drenched in cheese and gravy. Heart attack on a plate!) I thought I was gonna die... :sad2:

(That being said, my hockey days are long over and that just sounds like good eatin' to me now!! :lmao: )

Keep those reviews comin'!! And thanks again for posting them!! :thumbsup2

Ya aftere awhile we both felt like death eating like that. But it's always nice to eat some yummy junk food every now and again :)

More great reviews Amy when you said it was your last day I couldn't believe this review would be over then I saw you're now doing CS

I'm back with MORE reviews!!!! I covered all the fabulous TS restaurants we visited while on vacation, so it's now time to talk about the CS restaurants :)

Flame Tree BBQ - Animal Kingdom
We ate at Flame Tree BBQ a lot! Last year on vacation we established some favorite CS restaurants so we definitely knew where to turn this year when we were hungry! We spent a lot of time at AK and probably ate at Flame Tree 3 or 4 times. We also got to use the DDE here and get 20% off which was great! Brendan and I both got the BBQ Chicken Salad here which is sooooo good! I love the pita they give you with it too! The dressing on this salad is great as well. Really light and tasty! Also if you eat here make sure to head down towards the water to sit. It's much less crowded down there, you get a great view of Expedition Everest, and you get to see Mickey and friends ride by on the boat. Also on one of the days we ate here, we were the first in line and get to open up the restaurarnt and we got a certifiable dream certificate! lol The night at the castle would have been a bit better, but I won't complain! lol

I am rating the CS restaurants just based on food. Atmosphere is not really important as they are all similar. These ratings are not compared to TS restaurants as the CS Restaurants can not compare to TS dining.

Yes!

Backlot Express- MGM Studios
This is one of my favorite CS locations on Disney property! It is located in between the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and Star Tours. It is a large location that opens both indoor seating and outdoor seating. Their turkey sandwhich is the best that I have ever had!!! It is so good. We ate here a few times on vaca and got the Turkey Sandwhich each time. It is grilled turkey and cheese on multigrain bread surved with Arugula (lettuce) and roasted red peppers. We ordered it with carrots. The sandwhich is huge so I never ate my carrots, but we saved them and brought them as snacks throughout the trip which worked out really well. We ate here and at Studio Catering CO. and we liked Backlot so much more! If you like turkey panini type sandwhiches definitely give this place a try!

Studio Catering CO.(Flatbread Grille)- MGM Studios
We ate here on one of our days at MGM. I knew that this was one of the highest rated CS locations in MGM so we figured we'd give it a try! Brendan got the Chicken Ceasar Salad Wrap and I got the kids chicken wrap with grapes, carrots, and a small bottle of water. The wraps were not what I expected at all and we were not impressed with the food here. My grapes were kinda soft (not very fresh) and the wraps were wrapped in pita bread instead of a tortilla wrap. It made it difficult to eat because it wasn't necessarily wrapped up, it was just kind of placed in the middle of the pita and then rolled into foil. Once the foil was removed, your salad fell out and it was just a mess lol We wouldn't eat here over backlot again and learned our lesson! lol

More CS reviews coming later: Pecos Bill, Main St. Bakery, Pepper Market, Goofy's Candy Co., Ghiradelli's Chocolate Shop!

Hi everyone! I am back yet again with more CS restaurants to review!

Pecos Bill Cafe- Frontierland in the MK
Pecos Bill Cafe is one of our favorite CS spots. We ate there a few times over the course of our trip and each time got the Grilled Chicken Wrap (minus the dressing and cheese) with Apples. Brendan also tried the Chicken salad which he really liked. The best part about Pecos Bill is that there is a TON of seating which is indoors so you stay nice and cool and that it has the fixings bar which includes sauteed onions and mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, etc. We love Pecos and will def return for some yummy food!

Most Definitely!!!!!

Main St. Bakery- MK
I had to try the French Toast Loaf at the Main St. Bakery and after throwing our whole diet by the way side we went for it one morning mid trip! We went around 10:00, 10:30 or so and the place was PACKED! Everything looked sooo yummy! We ended up splitting a french toast loaf and a cinnamon bun. The yogurt and granola looked really yummy too and I was almost tempted to get that. The french toast loaf was unbelievable!!!! Definitely lived up to the expectations! The Cinnamon bun....not so much.... It was a little dry and not as good as I thought it would have been. Prices are reasonable here and you get A LOT of food! Just beware that it gets really really busy and there is not much seating inside.

Would we return?:
Def for the French toast loaf and to try the yogurt and granola!

Lottawatta Lodge- Blizzard Beach
I totally forgot we ate here until reading someone else's review of this location!!! We both got the chicken wraps minus the dressing of course and substituted carrots for french fries. This location offered a lot of food and was pretty close to summit plummit and the main entrance! The wraps were yummy and we ate early to beat the lunch rush! We loved Blizzard Beach too! It was our first time there and I swore up and down that I would not have anything to do with Summitt Plummit and then ended up going on 3 times! It was sooooo much fun :)

If we were in Blizzard Beach!

That's it for tonight folks!!! I will try to finish them tomorow!

Loving these. I just starting this major diet, and its nice to see some reviews that aren't totally cheeseburgers and french fries. I am really starting to change my eating habits, and though I will be a little "careless" on vacation, I know I don't have to be every single meal.

Thanks again!!

Great reviews! I can't wait to read more! :)

Excellent reviews. I've enjoyed reading them all and everyone's feedback.popcorn:: We'll be having dinner at O'hana on Monday night, so let's hope our experience is a good as yours:yay:

Thanks for sharing your dining reviews Amy! You gave such great detail and have changed my mind about trying certain restaurants!:cool1:

Hey Kristin! It's really nice to see healthy options at disney! And they are tasty healthy options too! We kind of fell of our usual diet regimen on vaca, but that's what vacations are for! :) It just makes you more motivated to get working out and eating well when you return home :) Have fun on vaca!!!!

Hello Everyone!!! I'm apologizing yet again for being slow on getting these final 3 CS Reviews out there! I'm a little sad that these are the final reviews I have to share with you! Feel free to ask any questions about Disney food and I'll be happy to get back to you! It will help me kill some time before it's time to plan my next Disney Vaca!

Here we go!

Goofy's Candy Co.- Downtown Disney
On our second night we decided it was time to splurge and jump straight off the diet band wagon! hehe We were in Downtown Disney killing a little bit of time before Cirque Du Soleil. We ended up in Goofy's which is right next to the rainforest cafe. We ended up getting the "build your own" Caramel Apple. We added dark chocolate and crushed peanuts to ours and split it :) It was sooo yummy! Goofy's is kind of small, but fun! Especially watching them create the make-you-own treats!!! Some people went all out and got like 15 toppings on their rice krispie treat, gingerbread cookie, or apple!!!

Ghiradelli's Chocolate Shoppe
So after Goofy's we continued to feel like splurging and split a sundae! lol We shared the chocolate chip cookie sundae (but they didn't have any chocolate chip cookies so we got an oatmeal raison cookie at the bottom instead). It was really really good! I think maybe better than the beaches and cream no way jose. I'd have to have them side by side to really judge this one though! hehe

Pepper Market-Coronado Springs Resort
We stayed at Coronado Springs Resort (which is absolutely beautiful!) and ate at the Pepper Market a few times. We absolutely love all of the food choices here! They have a stir fry asian inspired section, spanish inspired section, grille, bakery, kid's section, deli, italian section, etc!) While at the resort we tried the grilled chicken pizza, chicken ceasar salad, chicken ceasar salad wrap, fresh fruit, and pasta primavera with grilled chicken. The pizza was actually really good. I don't expect much from pizza in florida, but the pizza we did have on this trip was really good. The pasta primavera with grilled chicken was also awesome! The portion was HUGE and we probably could have shared. THe salad and wrap were both good too and the fruit was always really fresh! My boyfriend was on a quest to find a good protein source to have in the parks and room and I was getting tired of carrying around his heavy protein shakes so at the deli counter at the pepper market he asked them just for chicken in a take out container. They filled the WHOLE thing to the top with chicken which was way more than what he expected and only charged him like $2-3 for it! I think they were just confused by his request, but you might as well give it a try! We love PM and will miss it next year....but I'd much rather be a DVC member! :) If you have the dining plan I heard using a CS credit at PM is definitely worth it since you can get strip steak and larger entrees.

Well we absolutely love PM, but we wouldn't make a special trip to eat there as we will be staying at DVC resorts and are not dining plan members from this point out.

***Thank you all so much for reading my reviews!!! I hope you have a great time on your upcoming disney vacations! Feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like!***
