Back 2 weeks ago from an 11-day trip. Here is where and what we ate…if I can remember it all! We were on the dining plan and LOVED it! Of course, we ate at way too many places so had to pay OOP for some. It was me, DH, and DD5.

Day 1:
Lunch – Sassagoula Food Factory at POFQ. Really enjoyed the food court here and used it on several occasions. Food was excellent and fresh (beignets were always made to order) and there were usually not long lines and several places to sit. Place was clean and always kept up. DD5 liked the little kid’s coloring area. Resort so compact is was easy to take advantage of the refillable mugs…definitely got our money’s worth.
Dinner – DTD Earl of Sandwich. Was dying to try this place after all the good reviews. Excellent! I got the Earl’s Club and DH got the Original. DD got the PB&J. Sandwiches were huge. Loved it so much we will eat here again later in the trip.

Day 2:
Breakfast – Cape May Café at the Beach Club. First seating at 7:30am. Took a taxi from POFQ. $15 including tip. Character Breakfast. Enjoyed the buffet. Of course food was fresh and plentiful at that time of the morning. Character interaction was great…Minnie, Goofy, Chip, and Dale…although we never got to see Dale as we had to leave to get to MGM before park opening.

Lunch: MGM Toy Story Pizza Planet. Only reason we ate here was so DD could say she ate at “Pizza Planet.” It doesn’t really look like the one in the movie, but it was good. Was surprised how good the pizza really was considering all the bad reviews. I got pepperoni, DD got just cheese, and DH got the vegetarian one. Used counter service credit…too much food with dessert and all. Said outside (don’t remember seating inside) and was cooled by air-conditioning that seemed to be “outside.” Maybe we were just sitting close to the door. Anyway, very pleasant.

Dinner: MGM 50’s Prime Time Café. First dinner seating at 4:00pm. Wanted this time in order to finish dinner and have time to see the 5:30pm parade. Got seated in a side section so we were not part of the main action. Also DD fell asleep, so waiter didn’t “interact” with us like some tables around us. I got the fried chicken, DH got the pot roast and DD got mac-n-cheese. Good food, but we live in WV where the restaurants serve this “homestyle” food all the time. Didn’t impress me. Probably will skip this one next time.

Day 3:
Breakfast – ‘Ohana’s at the Polynesian. First seating at 7:30am. Took a taxi from POFQ…$17 including tip. Arrived before the restaurant opened so we had some time to explore the beautiful lobby and get our family picture taken. Character breakfast included Lilo, Mickey, and Pluto. Stitch was “missing” this morning which was a disappointment. Last trip we missed seeing Stitch in the parks so I purposely booked this breakfast for HIM! Oh well, we’ll have to search him out in the parks. Usual breakfast fare, but the fruit here is WONDERFUL! Especially the pineapple. And the pineapple bread. Character interaction very good and they didn’t seem to be in a hurry. Had a “parade” where the kids got maracas and danced around the room. Was out in time to make park opening at MK.

Lunch – CRT at 12:25. Arrived around noon and was seated in 5 minutes. Was seated in the upper level which put us out of the action for the “wishing” ceremony but otherwise we had a good view of the activities. Cinderella greeted us in the lobby and posed for our “free” pictures. Upstairs we had Mary Poppins, Sleeping Beauty, Belle (in her blue dress) and my DD’s favorite, Snow White. Princesses were great and interacted a lot with DD. The appetizers consisted of plates of cheese and little deep fried things (can’t remember what they were) but they were VERY good! I got the major domo pie (excellent!) and I think DH got the foccacia(sp) sandwich. I don’t remember what he thought of it, but he ate it all! Blueberry buckle for dessert. Good, but I’m not a fan of blueberry dessert.

Dinner – MK Casey’s Hot Dogs. DD and I saved a curbside seat for Spectro/Wishes while DH brought us hot dogs from Casey’s. We had eaten them last year and thought them “ok” but this year they were GREAT! Maybe sitting on a curb waiting for the magic of “Wishes” made them better. Nonetheless, we gobbled them up and would return for more later on in the trip.

Day 4:
Breakfast – POFQ Food Factory. Rest in day so we grabbed some beignets and such from the food court.

Lunch – AK…had considered eating CS at Tuskar House but line was too long. Ended up grabbing some fruit dishes and pretzel at a fruit stand. It was ok.

Dinner – AKL Boma 8:00pm seating. We don’t usually like eating this late, but we were meeting some friends of ours and this fit better with their work schedules. LOVED THIS MEAL!!! FAVORITE MEAL THE WHOLE TRIP!!! We had breakfast here last year and it was good, but dinner was AWESOME! Like I said, the restaurants in our area only serve “regular” food so these different dishes were very appealing to us. I especially loved the watermelon rind salad!

Day 5:
Breakfast – Snacks in the room

Lunch – Epcot day. Had planned on eating CS over in World Showcase, but we got delayed in FW when our tummies told us it was time to eat. Ate at the Electric Umbrella. Seemed crowded, but the lines moved quickly and we found a table quickly. Got the burger. Good, nothing special. Reminded me of the burgers at Burger King…you know, that “charbroiled” taste.

Dinner – Mexico, San Angel Inn 5:00pm seating. Ate here last year and loved it, so despite the terrible reviews this place gets, we decided to test our luck and eat here again. LOVED IT! I really enjoy both the food and the atmosphere here. Will be on our list again. For appetizers, I got the tortilla soup (SO good! Could have made a meal on this!) and DH got the seafood one. It was good, but not as good as mine so I didn’t share! Ha! We both got the combination dinners and they were excellent. I got the rice pudding dessert (a tad bland) and DH got some dessert with bananas. I’m not a fan of bananas, but he liked it.

Day 6:
Breakfast – Crystal Palace 8:05am seating. Loved getting in before the park opened and got a few pics of the castle with very few people in them. Love the atmosphere at CP. We had the whole crew come around to our table…Pooh, Tigger, Eyeore, and Piglet. The buffet was very fresh and good. Great character interaction. Out of the restaurant in time to get to Dumbo at park opening.

Lunch – Whispering Canyon Café at WL 1:00pm seating. Booked this for the “interactive” experience, but we were really dragging at this point and I was secretly hoping lunch would be low key. It was. Very. Everywhere. Wouldn’t even know this was supposed to be a “fun” restaurant. No ketchup, big refills or anything. DH asked to have his tea filled 4 times (because he was REALLY thirsty.) He got his refills, but only the regular way. Food was really good. We both got the skillet and we really enjoyed the ribs. I got a strawberry milkshake for dessert and it was very good. Also booked this so I could check out the WL as an option for a future stay. I’ll be honest…it didn’t wow me. Maybe because we have ski lodges around our house that resemble this atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong…it was nice…just not my cup of tea.

Dinner – Riverside Grill at POR. Had a carriage ride over here this evening so we walked over early and ate at the food court. Man, what a difference from POFQ! SO many more people! Lines were LONG and took forever to get our food! However, I got the prime rib sandwich and it was WONDERFUL!

Day 7:
Breakfast – Snacks at POFQ.

Lunch – 11:55 seating at the Princess Storybook Lunch in Norway. Booked this solely for Ariel. Arrived early but had about a 20 minute wait. Ariel was in her gown greeting in the lobby…beautiful…and much better than meeting her with her fins in the Grotto. Princesses this afternoon were Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella (maybe Belle but I can’t remember.) I do know that we were hoping for Snow White (DD’s favorite), but CM told us she usually does the breakfast. Like I said, I booked this for Ariel and was really nervous about the meal…would we like anything? Is it too strange? LOVED IT!!! The 2nd best meal the whole trip! LOVED the cold buffet! Smoked salmon was delicious! Have no idea what we got for entrees! Kept going back to the cold bar! Will do this one again…even without Snow White!

Dinner – 5:30 seating at Le Cellier. Our 18th anniversary…friends of our babysat DD. Another LOVED THIS MEAL! Cheddar soup and pretzel bread our favorite!! Both of us got the filet over mashed potatoes. EXCELLENT! Cooked to perfection! DH got the whiskey cake which he loved and I got ? I can’t remember…too full to really eat it anyway.

Day 8:
Breakfast – Snacks at POFQ.

Lunch – CS at Leaning Palms in Typhoon Lagoon. Usual CS fare. Kinda full though because DD was “The Big Kahuna” of the park that day and we got free donuts and ice cream which filled us too much for lunch.
Dinner – 1900 Grand Park Fare at GF 4:40pm seating. Enjoyed this so much from last year that we decided to do this again. Different experience this time. SO LOUD! More on the atmosphere of Chef Mickey’s! Food was still very good though…especially the strawberry soup. Characters were: Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy, and Perla. No Fairy Godmother in the lobby this time, but that was just fine because directly after dinner we went to MK for the AAA Storytelling Experience. Fairy Godmother read the story. (No wonder she wasn’t at the GF!) Ha!

Day 9:
Rest Day. Breakfast and lunch at POFQ.

Dinner – DTD Earl of Sandwich (again!) Got the same exact sandwiches we got before! VERY GOOD!

Day 10:

Breakfast – POFQ

Lunch – DD had lunch at the Wonderland Tea Party in the GF while DH and I dined at the Grand Floridian Café. Very good and relaxing meal. DH got crab cakes for appetizer, I got the chicken noodle soup. Got the turkey sandwich for the meal and DH got the Grand sandwich. It was all very good. DH got key lime pie for dessert. It was good, but nearly as good as my lemon cheesecake…again, I didn’t share! Ha!

Dinner – 5:30 seating at Chef Mickey’s. You know, ya just “have” to eat here! Donald in the lobby with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy going to the tables. This meal was not that great for us this time…several reasons…was seated off to the side in a separated area, was pouring down the rain, we had just eaten just a few hours before so not really hungry, and the big one…it was our last night of the trip. We would be down in the dumps anywhere we ate. Anyway, it was nice….will do again just not on our last night.

Day 11:

Breakfast - Snacks at POFQ.

Lunch – Cantina San Angel in World Showcase. We both got the Plato Combinacion. Good, but not as good as our meal in San Angel Inn. Had a nice lakeside seat. Would be great for IllumiNations I think.

Dinner – At the airport..sniff, sniff.

Well, folks, there you have it. We ate at far more TS restaurants than we had credits for so we had to pay OOP for some of these meals (CRT, CP, Chef Mickey’s) but the dining plan was SO worth it!!! Can’t wait to do it again!

Great reviews......Thanks! We also did not care to WCC. Sounds like we both loved the same places and we are looking foward to trying Bomas this trip for the first time, sounds yummy!

Thank you so much for the reviews! We will be staying at POFQ in November. You went to may of the places I have ADRS for. Lunch in Norway just to see Ariel is just what we are doing (Let's hope she is their in November too). Glad you liked CRT. We are having lunch there too!
Thanks again!

No problems with service whatsoever. Was seated quickly and the waiter was always filling DH's glass...without having to be asked. :thumbsup2

we are staying at POFQ in Sept and plan on eating in the food court at least a couple of times. You said you ate there several times and it was good...were there any particular standouts besides the beignets?

Excellent reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Most of the times when we ate there was for breakfast or for "snacky" food like the beignets, rice krispies treats, etc. However, we did have a few breakfasts. DH and I both really enjoyed the breakfast croissant sandwich which was scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese on a warm croissant. Very tasty and definitely big enough for 2 people. DH also liked the Mickey waffles there. We got pizza once...not so good.

Tkanks for the great reviews - especially glad to hear good things on San Angel, as it's one of our must go places every trip - never been disappointed!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the reviews! We have several of the same places booked for our stay next month.

Thanks for the wonderful reviews! It was great that you threw in there the price for the taxi. We are going to need to use a taxi once or twice on our next trip and it is good to know how much it will cost. Melissa
