11 Days of Deluxe Dining,BOG and LOTS of SIGS! Completed

love your photos and reviews...
thanks for adding them

Loving your reviews, they are definitely getting me excited for my trip in 8 days :goodvibes I ate at Ohana in October and agree with your hilarious comparison to speed dating. We even had to ask the waiter to give us a minute before dessert!

Great reviews of BOG and the dessert party

Can't wait to try BOG!

I hope it helps. Have you decided what restaurants you want to make ADR's for? We have been back exactly a week, and my son already wants to know when we are going back!

I have a list made. We were actually supposed to go this year but hubs started a new job and wasn't going to have the time off. So I had the ADRs set for that trip. We are planning it for the same time next year, however I'm sure I will struggle and change our list multiple times. I really want to try deluxe dining so we will just have to see what kind of specials come out to make up for that cost! We just have too many on our want to try list combined with the ones we always have to eat at.

Just read your latest review. If I had any doubt about BOG they are gone. I must have the grey stuff! I hadn't seen that on their desert menu last I saw they were doing cupcakes or something but that was awhile ago that I looked up the menu.

I'm not sure I would do deluxe again because I felt constantly stuffed and was swigging pepto and popping tums the whole week and a half, but I am glad I did get to try so many signature restaurants.

This is the one DH was most looking forward to. He remembers loving his steak back in 2007.

I love walking through the gardens to get to the restaurant. It is really beautiful to see.

LOVE the pretzel bread!

Our server was so friendly and spent a lot of time talking to us about Canada and herself. She was actually going back to Canada in another week and told us how much she enjoyed her time working at Disney.

My son and I both got :

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup

[FONT=Quartet Regular,Quartet Regular][FONT=Quartet Regular,Quartet Regular]made with Moosehead Beer and Bacon
Disney008.jpg

We both loved our soup. It's also perfect for dipping your pretzel bread in :thumbsup2

Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage

[FONT=Quartet Regular,Quartet Regular][FONT=Quartet Regular,Quartet Regular]with Roasted Corn Polenta and Sweet Onion Jam
Disney010.jpg

DH got this and enjoyed it very much. It was indeed pretty spicy!!

Wild Mushroom Filet Mignon

[FONT=Quartet Regular,Quartet Regular][FONT=Quartet Regular,Quartet Regular]Le Cellier "Signature Dish" served with Wild Mushroom Risotto and White Truffle Butter Sauce
Disney014.jpg

This was my choice. Perfectly cooked and yummy!

Le Cellier House Burger

[FONT=Quartet Regular,Quartet Regular][FONT=Quartet Regular,Quartet Regular]Roasted Mushrooms, Smoked Bacon, Maple Barbecue, Black Diamond Cheddar, crispy Onions, and French Fries
Disney016.jpg

My son got this and boy was it delicious!! I was enjoying it more than my filet! I don't know if it's because I had so many filets during my trip and I needed something different or if it was really as fantastic as I think it was, but it was pretty darned good!! It was so juicy and packed with flavor.

New York Strip Steak

[FONT=Quartet Regular,Quartet Regular][FONT=Quartet Regular,Quartet Regular]topped with Bercy Butter served with Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes
Disney015.jpg

This was DH's choice. He sucked it down pretty fast, so I'm pretty sure he liked it!!

Baked Macaroni & Cheese
Disney019.jpg

Really cheesy and delicious!

Chocolate Moose

Maple Creme Brulee

I'm really enjoying your pictures and reviews! Your gorgeous castle pictures are making me consider doing the dessert party at some point in the future. Does everyone have access to a view that good, or did you just get lucky with your table? The cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread from Le Cellier are calling my name; I can hardly wait to get there. I do have a question about BOG lunch which maybe you can answer. We don't really eat lunch at WDW and kind of stick to just the 2 large meals per day ;), but we would really like to at least try to get in to see BOG during lunch. Do you know if it is possible to order something small, like the cupcakes, and drinks, or do they require everyone to order a full lunch meal?

Just stopping in to say that I am loving your reviews. Thanks so much for sharing !!!

Thanks! I am so glad my reviews are being enjoyed. We did get lucky with the dessert party table, but they tell everyone as they enter the party that they may watch Wishes from the railing, so you can have the same view ::yes:: You can order anything you want from BOG. They wouldnt refuse you for just wanting dessert and drinks. The croque monsieur is very good. Perhaps you could share that and some desserts.

I can't wait to try BOG! As long as I can get a reservation that is :/ (fingers crossed)

The castle at Christmas time is absolutely gorgeous! I was down there in December last year and pictures really can't do it justice. ^.^

Yay! Le Cellier! My favorite restaurant to read reviews about!

This was my first time doing Disney when the Christmas decorations are up. You are right....pictures can't do justice to how beautiful the castle looks. I couldn't stop staring at it. The Wilderness Lodge is also amazing. I enjoyed seeing the decorations in all the deluxe resorts since we ate at most of them, but I think Wilderness Lodge has the most amazing decorations.

More than half way through our trip, and we had had some pretty great meals. This was our first time at California Grill. We arrived at the Contemporary a little early, so we browsed around a little first before checking in for dinner.

Disney078.jpg

I had to stop and buy a cookie of course ;)

We checked in and were seated quickly. I can't remember our server's name but he was fabulous. He was an older gentleman and had been working there for quite some time. He was on top of everything. Not in an annoying, always in your face when your mouth is full way though :lmao:
Disney051.jpg

Brick Oven-fired Flatbread

Bacon Cheeseburger . . . Wagyu Beef, Tillamook Cheddar, House-made Dill Pickles, Florida Tomato Ketchup
Disney053.jpg

This is what my son ordered. It was a HUGE serving for an appetizer. He loved it. I snuck a piece(or two) off his plate. It was really very good.

Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli . . . Sun-dried Tomatoes, Pesto, Shiitake Mushrooms, Basil
Disney055.jpg

This was my choice. I had to try it after reading so many good reviews for it. It did not dissappoint! It had a perfect balance of flavors. The goat cheese wasn't too overpowering.

Crispy Rock Shrimp Salad . . . Asian Pear, Red Onions, Soy Reduction, Wasabi Cream
Disney056.jpg

This was DH's choice. I am not a shrimp fan, but he loved this.

Oak-fired Filet of Beef . . . Buttered Purple Stokes Purée, Citrus-glazed Carrots, Teriyaki Barbecue
Disney059.jpg

This was my choice. I couldn't decide between this and the pork tenderloin since I had heard such good things about both, but I talked my son into getting the pork, so all bases were covered :lmao:
This was AMAZING!!! It was the best filet of the trip, and I had a lot of filets!! It had a nice char on the outside, and perfectly cooked on the inside. The sauce was fantastic. The purple potatoes were delicious!! I never heard of a purple stoke, but just looked it up, and it is a sweet potato. I was thoroughly delighted with my meal.

Grilled Pork Tenderloin . . . Goat Cheese Polenta, Roasted Mushrooms, Zinfandel Glaze, Crispy Sage
Disney057.jpg

This was my son's choice. Ok, I talked him into it! :rolleyes1 I am so glad that 1. I "suggested it" and 2. He was already pretty filled up on flatbread! :lmao: This was another AMAZING dish!! The pork was cooked perfectly. It was so tender, and not at all dry. The polenta was delicious!! I wish I had a big bowl of it. The sauce was delicious too! My son really enjoyed it also, so don't go feeling bad for him that mom talked him into this ;)

Veal Chop . . . Creamy O’Henry Sweet Potato Hash, Wild Mushroom, Root Spinach, Chimichurri
Disney061.jpg

DH was also in love with his dish. I tried it (of course) and it was very good. I wouldn't give up my filet or the pork for it, but still, very good!

Bananas and Caramel
Crispy Baked Phyllo Squares Layered with Banana, Mascarpone Mousse, and Caramelized Banana
Disney064.jpg

YUM! This was my dessert. I love banana. This was creamy and delicious. This was nice and light too. Not light in calories, of course, but light in the fact that it went down easily to my already overstuffed stomach :lmao:

Valhrona Chocolate Cake
Warm Chocolate Cake with Molten Center, Gianduja Ice Cream, and Frangelico Sauce
Disney065.jpg

This is what umm....was placed in front of my son. I must admit that although my son is an adventurous eater, he pretty much only likes ice cream for dessert and the kind mom I am told him he is not getting vanilla ice cream for dessert every night when there are all these amazing desserts for us(ME) to try when you can get ice cream for a snack credit everywhere :lmao:I'm not a huge molten cake fan, but this was very good. My son did eat the ice cream, and had some of the cake.

Brown Sugar Spice Cake
Pumpkin Panna Cotta, Cranberry Compote, and Warmed Pumpkin Ganache
Disney062.jpg

This is what DH got. It was pretty good. It would have been better if it was a little moister.

I'm disappointed that the pics came out kind of crummy for this meal and didn't do the food justice. This meal was fantastic from beginning to end. If I could combine my filet and purple potatoes, with the lobster tail from Narcoossees, their cheese plate, and yummy sourdough bread with the delicious Hawaiian pink sea salt butter, and this banana dessert, I think it would be the best meal I could imagine. :cool1: Plus a side of pork and polenta :rotfl:

I would most definitely eat here again and very highly recommend it to everyone. Someone in your party must get the pork or filet. Preferably both!;)

I'm not sure I would do deluxe again because I felt constantly stuffed and was swigging pepto and popping tums the whole week and a half, but I am glad I did get to try so many signature restaurants.

Yeah that's a downside for sure.

California Grill will be closed in April when I am hoping to go down. I am so bummed. :sad1:

Mamma Mia! The ravioli! The pork and polenta! The Valhrona chocolate cake! :cloud9:
