We got home late last night from the 4 Day Land 3 Day Sea tirp. Long day at the airport as we took a vol. bump to score $800.00 of free air travel from Continental. So this will be a short report, with more details to follow later.
First I have to say thanks for all the help we got from this board. It is a very valuable resource, all the packing tips, shared information and questions answered, helped to make our first family trip to WDW/Wonder a lot more enjoyable.
That said from start to finish the Disney Cruise Line CM's made our vacation the best one ever. Pickup at WDW and transfer to the ship were seamless. Lines? I don't really remember waiting at all and before you can say Mickey & Minnie we were onboard in the buffet line enjoying lunch and exploring the ship till the sailaway party on Deck 9 got underway.
DW and I chose not to make any Polo's or spa reservations, so I don't know how those lines were. But we did register the kids, DD 10 & DS 7 at the respective lab and club, and that was easy. My tip for the lab and club is to pick an easy to remember password when filling out the registration papers.
By the end of the first day we had met our cabin host Emer, our Server Gede, and Assist. Sever Pencho. All were helpful, professional and worked hard to make our trip enjoyable.
Second day, we did not get off the boat at Nassau as the kids wanted to enjoy the activities at the club and lab. That was fine with DW and I who enjoyed a quite day to ourselves.
Day three, at Castaway back at it hard with Snorkling, floats and bikes. Hairbrading for DD, the day went by to fast, glad that there is more to do the next time we come back.
We enjoyed the dining in a different resturant every night, and the different thems. The food was very good, with just enough variety to keep it interesting. We had the early seating, then off to a movie to start the night. We caught the premiere of Santa Clause 2 in the Walt Disney Theater on Fri. night. Then the kids went off to the club & lab for awhile, to do what kids do, and mom and dad got to go off to do what they do for awhile.
Quite honestly there is so much scheduled activity for all ages, that you can't possibly do it all on a three or even a four day cruise, possibly even the seven day. So don't even try. Pick and choose activities you and family enjoy doing, be flexible and happy.
