11/30 Magic Cruisers

In half an hour, we will be officially down to 24 days till sailing. How are we going to meet? There are alot of people on this ship folks and we could all get lost in the crowd. I definitely need to celebrate my 40th with drinks with my new friends, also, I would like to celebrate Barb and Tom's birthdays at the same time. How bout room numbers. I will probably be spending any room time out on my balcony sucking down some form of alcohol or perhaps coffee depending upon what time of day. All are welcome. We are booked in room 6550. Maybe we can share room numbers so we can try to force ourselves to bump into each other. Sometimes I tend to be the stalking type so if I'm camped out in the hall in front of your room with a blanket, no need to call security. Only kidding. Please, please, please. let's make a meeting plan

I remember something about that!!!
You can't get Johnny near a hot tub, we were at the Radisson Cable Beach in April....he slipped and broke his tail bone. Thank goodness it was on the last night....and it was all inclusive the buzz didn't wear off till the next night then YOWZA~he was in pain!!! Laurie

Oh and I will just hand you my money for Johnny.........he says he is great at cards..........I beg to differ...I am the current GO FISH champion of our houshold.

I can hang w/you guys at the hot tubs but unfortunately I cant go in - had a little problem, (actually big problem) so no more hot tubs for me - not gonna risk it.
And as far as the poker game - IF DH comes along Im sure he'll want to join.

Hello all...and I have to agree...it has been a little quiet lately...but we must be resting up for a great 7 nights....although I must admit I am looking forward to the great "Welcome Aboard" buffet...........Wife and I are now in cabin 7130...we moved from the rear of the ship to the front of the ship....cause we got an upgrade...hehehe....sorry...could not help myself....but seriously...really want to say hello to you guys...and if there is a poker game....please count me in....Talk to you all soon....and almost 22 days......

Barb,
Just between us November 30th cruisers... you have never answered the questions that people have asked re: DH.
1) Does he always play these games, or is it just the DCL vacation?
2) Are you going to give him a deadline? Say, by the end of this weekend? My husband doesn't understand all the planning and thinks I am crazy going on this board all the time (although not in a bad way... he thinks it is kinda cute), but he would never play these games. It sounds like he is just trying to control you... is that it?
Sorry for asking these personal questions, but you have been talking about it so much, and we are just trying to help you out... afterall... we are friends now, right?

Okay, Okay...I broke down and (I can't believe I did this) I bought a pair of lime green capris (not shocking lime green, but lime green just the same). This is a bit scary for me....whatever, who cares what I look like, I want to meet some friends!!!!
Every vacation my husband and I go on, we always like to travel with friends, this time, noone. But now, thanks to these boards, I feel that I will be traveling with friends, unfortunately, I haven't a clue what anyone looks like...
Barb had started a thread asking others who they met and somebody said that they met the first day and they all brought a bottle of wine from home. I am totally up for that if anyone else is interested. I did seem to get the fact that people suggest meeting within the first or second day so that you can keep bumping into each other. We all paid alot of money for this, let's have some damn fun.
Barb-I almost feel sorry for your husband if he comes now since you have been posting all this stuff about him, people may pounce on him. I for one will not say a word, for your son's sake I hope he comes.

Yes everyone - please dont pounce on DH if he does come.
Im going back n forth between being excited to go on the cruise and not. I think more excited though no matter how this turns out. DS & I talked last night and our plans will not be changing. We're stopping for Thanksgiving dinner and going to the airport hotel immediately after.
Someone suggested to me that I just leave DHs ticket and his suitcase (which is 3/4s packed) and let him decide if he's putting it in the car trunk or not. Just let it go.

But Im ready to "get this party started"!

(A corny idea but what the heck - want to bring your christmas stocking hats and we'll have someone take a group picture next to the christmas tree?

Well I asked him if he's planning on coming. Said he's not sure.
He took the tanning cert back - I gave him the hours, etc.
DH asked again for the tux measurement forms as he threw out the one that came in the package. I told him we can call/fax the measurements but he should get them by this Sat the 16th. DH said he may or may not rent the tux and if he doesnt he'll eat at Topsiders.
He asked how many nights he needs to dress up - told him formal/semi-formal nights and 2 more. Im sure he'll wear shorts on 1st, last and tropical nights. Im planning on DS10 in shorts those nights too.
I told him I bought him 2 dress shorts and 2 windpants but he's not interested in trying them on - oh well, I tried.
I think the dresscode is a big concern of his right now. As my neighbor said "he hasnt worn constricting clothes in over 6yrs when his father passed away"

Barb...I think you should just chill for now...he will come around...he knows you want him to go and maybe he will put you ahead of himself and force himself to have a nice time....but the last two years I brought my suit with me and that is what I wore to formal night....have not been in a tux since I was married...and that was 24 years ago tomorrow....wow...time flys when you are having fun....but as long as he goes and gives you company who cares if he wears pajamas and slippers to dinner....relax and enjoy....just my 2 cents...now I will get off my soapbox before I fall and break my leg.....

and the reason we are thinking of renting a tux is because he doesnt own a suit that fits!

I can relate...since I did not own a suit that fit me for a couple of years....then I lost some weight and it was actually nice going to get something that did not have to be out of the big men's section....but the weight for me is always a battle...lost 110 pounds last year on Weight Watchers....then you get lazy and 50 pounds finds its way back...after the holidays it is back to WW again.....but I am sure gonna enjoy myself on the cruise...just not going to overdue it...happens when you can get your hands on food 24 hours a day...and I am sure some can relate to that...
Tom...and did I mention that it is 20 days to the "MAGIC"?

We can't wait!!!!!!! 12 more days until we start our vacation in sunny Florida!!!! Then we get to spend 7 sunny fun filled days with all of you fine absolutely fun friends! Count us in on the fun festivities! Cabin # 6072 is where you will find us!

Oh my - something positive may be happening w/DH!
We just discussed the dress onboard ship. Told him there are 3 nights he can dress in shorts - 1st, last and tropical. There are 2 nights he can get by wearing windpants. But the formal & semi-formal nights he would need to eat at Topsiders.
DH said he wants to get the tux so he can eat at Palos! I may be doing the happy dance by Thurs night (he said by then hes planning on being measured!) I mentioned he can most likely wear windpants to high tea & brunch but he wants dinner - said it's the classiest restaurant onboard ship and if he's cruisin hes going to Palos!
How many more days? Less than 18!

I'm cruising with you all on 11/30. I'm actually part of the Gram7 crew. We're psyched! So, what's the deal? Are we supposed to wear something lime green so we know who is part of the DIS people? Or should we just look for the people having fun in the hot tub? Our group is all on Deck 6 too! Sounds like that will be the crazy floor. I look forward to chatting with you all. Is anyone staying at the Radisson the night before?
