11-29-09 November 29, 2009 4 nite WONDER

Hi all!

I'm new to the DISboards, but totally hooked! We'll be sailing with everyone this November! We're celebrating my birthday a bit early (Dec. 17) and it'll be my husband, and two sons, 3 and 7 months. We'll also being doing a WDW a day before and 2 days after the cruise.

I am interested in the FE exchange, but had a couple questions-Do we deliver gifts to everyone every day? How will that work? After doing some research it seems different depending on the cruise.

Thanks!

Grace

Welcome! I'm planning on delivering once during the cruise to the fe people.

:welcome: I think many people deliver once, but knowing me, I will probably deliver more. :wizard: I get excited about this kind of thing. :yay:

YEA!!!! Glad to see this thread finally coming to life. :dance3:

So who is excited?!! oh, oh, me, me, me!!!! :woohoo::yay::cloud9:

I think we will probably do 2 seperate gift days, but small things, nothing extravagant (sp?).

Ok so here goes a question to help everyone get to know each other a bit more.
"Where are you from? And have you ever cruised DCL before?"

We live in Port Richey, FL. just north of the Clearwater area, about 75 minutes west of Disney.

This will be our 2nd DCL cruise. We did one Sept 2007 and really loved it. CC is the most wonderful place in the whole wide world. Ever since we left there 2 years ago we have been wanting to get back very badly, and are finally making it happen.

Please check FE list in reply #32 to make sure your information is correct, and if you would like to be added just let me know!

BTW, check the bottom of my signature for how many days till "OUR" cruise!!

We are from Woodhaven, Michigan - about 12 miles south of Detroit. I took a cruise on Admiral in 1989 (they are long gone) and DH and I did a 10 night circle the Caribbean on Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon. He fell in love with cruising, and we planned to do many more, but we wanted to wait until we felt the kids would get a lot out of it.

My parents brought up the idea of this cruise to celebrate their 40th anniversary. DH and I would prefer 7 nights (or more) but we are the only ones out of our party of 13 who have cruised before. Everyone else wanted to "get their feet wet". :rotfl: So it is our first (but I am sure not the last) Disney cruise. Of course, we have been to WDW many times. DS6 has been 4 times! We plan to spend 3 nights at Universal after the cruise to make it a full week. We have never been there before (except for City Walk). So this is a trip of firsts for us! :dance3:

Hey everyone!

My docs are here....so the reality of the cruise is kicking in :cool1:

We are from Newtown Pa (about 20 minutes from Philadelphia).

My husband and I did the Disney cruise for our honeymoon....ohhhhh 18 plus yrs ago:rotfl: It was the "Big Red Boat" then. We haven't done a cruise since and it's our kids first cruise. My little one (4 yr old) can be the DCL's spokesperson....he know the DVD by heart! lol

We have son 15, daughter 12 1/2, and son 4 1/2.

We are going to be arriving on Thanksgiving, staying at GF, 2 days of parks then the cruise.

Hoping everyone stays well so that no school is missed since they will be missing 3 days on this vacation....more so for my oldest who is in highschool.

Anyhows...that's a bit about us!

I'm from Atlanta and have been on several cruise lines but have done the eastern, the TA, and the PC with DCL. I am also doing the Baltic next summer and hopefully the repo and the Alaska in 2011 if DCL doesn't screw everything up with all the new tiers they have imposed! My friend is from Birmingham, Al and this will be her 1st cruise. Like I said before, the dh's are staying home this trip.

god sounds soooooooo relaxing....cruise without DH and kids.....I think they would all shoot me .....lol

Just ordered my Fish Extender! I was going to go with a cheaper one, but couldn't pass up the one with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald in their swim clothes. I would love to start buying treats, but I am afraid we may have some more people show up and join, and I want everyone to get the goods! I will hold off until I can't take it anymore. :lmao: Then I will be doing some serious shopping.

LOL....I felt like I was stressing more over looking for gift ideas then booking this whole cruise :lmao:

My DH would think I was losing my marbles . . . think a few have rolled away to be honest :rotfl:

We're from Los Angeles and live about 45 minutes away from Disneyland. Needless to say, we're annual passholders and have been taking our oldest son since he was 6 weeks old! I've never been to WDW so we're squeezing both a cruise and a quick three days at the parks.

It looks like we're going to have to pack an extra suitcase to participate in the FEs. It's been awhile since I've flown and was completely shocked that AA charges $20/checked bag!! We're staying off-site and am dubious whether packages would arrive safetly.

Looking forward to crusin' with everyone!

Grace

Hi guys, I haven't been back to visit this post for along time but some cruise docs arrived last week so it is getting closer and it reminded me yeah!

We are from Bristol in the UK and this is our second cruise and we are hoping to have another fantastic time as it was an amazing experience last year. I have booked the nursery for Oren who will be 2 next week and pre registered Sydney who is nearly 10 (also a Dec 17th b-day) and Libby (7) for the kids clubs and made a reservation for Palo for me and DH :cool1:

I would love to join your FE but I am worried about the amount of stuff I would have to put in my baggage from the UK..............

I am also not sure what to put in, can it be little things?

Anything can be put in the fe. It doesn't have to be something you bring with you. It could be a postcard, candy, a magnet, a pencil or pen,..... small is good. It's just a fun thing to do esp for the kids!

Lot more people have posted on here since the last i checked. I am starting to get very excited about this. Been two years of planning and can't believe it's almost here. Almost sad because it is going to go by quick. Least after the cruise we have a week in WDW. Good to see some girls in my daughters age group. She will turn 10 in Jan. and she was concerned nobody her age would be on board. My boys are all older 17,15 and 13 and can't wait. Should be fun!

I've seen several people mentioning the FE, but no more names on the list. If you are going to participate, please PM HallsInTheKingdom. I am building my master list so that I can start shopping soon! :woohoo:

We are a familty of five about 20 miles east of St. Louis, MO.We planned on a 7 day but also changed to a 4 because the second party traveling with us is first timers. The joy disney is contagious.

Our first was in Dec. of 2005 on the Wonder. This will be my son, Tyler's first cruise. It will be his birthday cruise Nov. 23. He is sooooo excited. After the cruise we are spending 3 days at Universal to finish off the trip. We flip flop every year.

Can't wait to get started on the FE gifts. Just finishing up the boys pillowcases. I will post pictures when I get them done. Any one have any charecter preferences?

Just spent $53 on stuff for the FEs, and I'm not done yet. :scratchin Shhh. . .don't tell my DH, he will have a heart attack! :thumbsup2

Ok, who has booked any excersions or other activities for this cruise?

Posted earlier - We have booked brunch at Palo on day 4 (day at sea) as well as the Exotic Rasul on day 2 (Nassua day). We really dislike to even get off the boat in the Bahamas, rather enjoy the ship activities.

Has anyone ever done the Rasul?

We are patiently waiting for our room assignment. :rolleyes1

There are a few who have mentioned doing FE, but I have not received confirmation. I see some do not have enough post to PM yet, so just post here that you are in and I will add your info to the list on page #4 Post #32.

Yes, please post or PM HallsInTheKingdom if you are doing FE! I bought a bunch of stuff and I would like to give everyone a similar gift (allowing for kids sex/ages), so I will need to get back to the store ASAP!

We are not doing any excursions. Our group has an age range of 4 to 69, and we couldn't find anything that everyone wanted to do. We thought about the Harbor Cruise in Nassau, and decided against it. Since my mom wanted this to be a family vacation, we are trying not to split up too much. Obviously, the kids may want to go to the clubs, and some may want to see shows and others not, etc. But overall, it will be a group effort. In Nassau we will probably just hit the Straw Market and the Hard Rock, and then get back on the ship.

On Castaway Cay, we might do some rentals (DS6 is dying to get on an Aqua Trike) but we will play it by ear. I thought about reserving the Palo brunch for the ladies, but decided that the cruise will go by so quickly that I should just allow the first-timers to experience the cruise without too many "appointments".

I am getting very excited, but I am trying to keep a level head - not that you would know it by the LARGE amount of money I spent on FE gifts today. :sad2: I guess I can say I am almost done - just a few more small ideas that I have to get together. :upsidedow

We're waiting for our room assignment too!

I have all our fe gifts unless I have to add more.

No excursions since we've been before. Just a nice relaxing trip with Palos on the 2nd at 10:30am.

I am staying at my friend's house in Melbourne before the cruise and my friend Sharon is flying in the morning of the cruise.

Did anyone book the 2011 cruises this morning?
