So, we booked our Cruise for 12/4/08, and now we have to wait until 1/4/08 to book our DVC room at OKW. The best part about it? THE KIDS DON'T KNOW!!! We aren't telling them until we get to the airport that we're going to WDW. Then we aren't telling them we're going on the cruise until we get to PC!! I just don't want to hear my son ask every day "How much longer till our Disney vacation?" It's over a year away and he'll be asking me how many MINUTES!!!

So, here's our cast so far:

Me - Debbie - Compulsive Disney Vacation Planner!

DH - Junior - Loves to take his family to Disney

DS - Brandon - 8 (will be 9 at time of vacation) Loves any Disney vacation

DD - Emilee - 4 (will be 5 at time of vacation) Just goes with the flow...she has no choice but to be a Disney fan...with the rest of her family being such Disney fans!!

DH's DS - Sara - We got her hooked on the Disney Cruise in 01/07.

DBIL - Joah - We got him hooked on the Disney Cruise in 01/07 - he didn't even want to go, and now he's the one suggesting the second cruise!!

DN - Skyler - This will be our nephew's first trip to the World and technically his second trip on DCL...first time he had to see it through mommy's eyes though since he was still swimming in the womb. :lmao:

DBIL's parents - Jan & Larry - This will their first Disney Cruise, and I'm not sure if they've ever been to WDW...so possibly their first trip there, too!! Oh yeah, this is a BIG step for Jan. Not only is she afraid to fly...she's afraid to be out on the open seas! :scared1:

DS TO DBIL - Elana - This will be her first Disney Cruise, and again, I'm not sure if she's ever been to WDW...so possibly her first trip, too!!

Ok, so now I am starting my pre-trip report. DH originally booked two standard inside staterooms...one for himself and DS and one for me and DD. The whole purpose of this was to have two rooms next to each other so we could just have extra space. Upon researching the prices futher, we were able to change our booking to a Deluxe Inside Stateroom...a SPECIAL "Inside" stateroom! YEP...we got one of those "secret" rooms that is categorized as an INSIDE but really has a PORTHOLE!!!

So, now I have spent almost all day looking at Pats' Designs to get some ideas for how we will decorate our door and make some T-shirts. I put in my request with her (or him?) already. And I have read the fish extender thread and gotten some ideas on how to make my fish extender and what to purchase to put in other DISer's fish extenders.

DH and I have already discussed what we will pack. :lmao:

This is going to be dangerous...we are going to obsess over this vacation for over a year!! That's ok...that's half of the fun, right? :goodvibes

Definitely! Don't be surprised if the "gung ho" planning falls off a bit after a month or two and then picks back up a few months before you sail. That's usually what happens with me. We almost always book more than a year in advance and I get all excited about everything. Then the day-to-day stuff creeps back into my life and the cruise planning takes a bit of a back seat. Somewhere between 3 & 6 months before our sail date the excitement comes back and doesn't go away. We're now 3 weeks (actually 2 weeks, 6 days!) from our sail date and I'm nearly hyperventilating with excitement.

Have fun planning!

CraftyMouse...oh you're so close!!! You'll be leaving before you know it! Have a great trip!!!

I went shopping at JoAnn Fabrics today for the materials to make my fish extender...here's a picture:

I will have a top section in the teil color that reminds me of the ocean water, then the other four colors are for the pockets for myself, DH, DD, DS. The fabric looks like it has bubbles and it reminded me of the water. I will be purchasing embroidered Disney patches to put on each pocket. I am NOT crafty at all when it comes to sewing, so my sister is coming to my house with her sewing machine to help me with this project. I'll be sure to post pictures when it's complete.
