here is some snow left in the coastal mountains. It is extremely rare for these Mountains to get any snow, but this late in the year it is really unusual. Maybe once before in my lifetime.

The dogs taking Greg for a run on the sand. Minnie had a big smile the whole day. He finally turned them loose and they stayed with him as he ran

Kathy,

It looks like it was a gorgeous day to go to the beach!! Love the pictures!

Which beach did you go to?

We were on the Oregon coast about 8 months ago for last years vacation.

We stayed a few days at Depot Bay and Gleneden Beach. We took the kids to the Newport aquarium and then headed up to Cannon Beach and Seaside where we stayed for a week.

We stopped at the Tillamook factory on the way! :thumbsup2

this is the photos taken just before the camera got dropped on the rocks

The Tillamook cheese factory. This is ahuge place with a free tour and sample and they also sell and make ice cream, pepperoni sticks as well as cheese and other dairy products and a large gift shop. We have been here many times. Greg bought a bunch of pepperoni sticks while I watched the dogs.

This is the only distance shot I got efore dropping the camera. You can see how the hills come right up to the ocean.

Hopefully next time I will be able to get alot of the drop offs and cliffs, devils churn and sea lions and walrus sunning themselves on the rocks there.

we spent the day just past the cheese factory about 15 minutes drive at Barview. It is a tiny place and they have Barview county park and you can drive through the campground and go right ot the beach.

My son Peter is living at Depot Bay right on the main road with an ocean view and he works at Lincoln city.

we love Seaside but it is way too crowded for the dogs.
The aquarium at Newport we have been too many times.
The underseas gardens and wax museum are also well worth seeing. Just a little south of that is the largest dune area on the west coast, it is really a great place to camp and hike the dunes, ride dune buggies or horse back ride through the dunes. w elike to take the ATV's there too in designated areas.

it was 78 degrees and NO wind, perfect day.

Next time your out that way, so a little farther south from Nreport to Florence and just 10 minutes south of it are the dunes and camping and recreation areas. You'll love it.

We'll have to go check out the dunes the next time we go.

We really enjoyed Depot Bay and Seaside. I think the only thing that would make it even better is if the water was warm enough to swim in! :lmao:

Chayce and I tried to swim at Seaside and that water is freezing!!! I think they said it was 44 degrees and this was the middle of August!! :scared1:

So Peter is living in Depot Bay? I'm jeolous!

I told my wife when we were there that I wanted to live in Depot Bay with an ocean view!!

We ate at the "Sea Hag" on main street in Depot Bay...really good seafood! :thumbsup2

You children are beautiful, I cant wait until my children meet yours. I think it will be fun for them to get to know some other kids on the cruise and maybe even stay in touch for our future Cruises... :yay: :yay: :yay:

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, someone in control of the thermostat forgot to look at the calendar. It is 34 degrees in Georgia this morning!:scared1: They even mentioned the possibility of s*** flurries tonight. What are they thinking?:confused3

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Kathy & Greg: Loved the pictures!:thumbsup2
