Here are some true tales of people who put the duh in induhvidual.

I'm in the U.S. Virgin Islands (where they drive on the left side of the road) traveling on a small, open bus. One of the people in front of me remarks that the word "POLICE" is spelled backwards on the hood of the police car. After a lengthy discussion, they conclude that it's because they drive on the left side of the road.

Yes it is.....and this is what I (we) deal with daily. It is very sad, that the insurance companies dictate what the doctors can and cannot do.

We get to deal with the side where people apply for a policy and get denied because once they had some medical procedure or illness a long time ago. That part stinks, too.

There's also much more money to be made on sick people than on healthy people, so health insurance companies hope you don't ever use preventative health screenings.

Speaking of which, I have to go fill out a new application for health insurance so I can get lower rates. I have to do it every couple years. BCBS used to give introductory rates to new clients. Now they have to offer those same rates to exisitng clients as long as they still qualify.

I don't know if this is unique just to IL, but if you have to pay for your own health insurance, it may be worth looking into.

Our employer (which is a hospital) offers this for us....if we use this compamy called gordian...they monitor your "healty lifestyle" which bascially means, if your dieting, excercising and being healthy in general, they will call you periodically and keep records updated. If your doing what you should be doing the hospital gives a 19.00 per month break on our health insurance ..(the portion that we pay) if not you have to pay the full amount......

Yep, that too, as we have to copy tons of medical records for people applying for insruance and we have patients that get denied, and they get mad at us for sending the information out but we have to included everything in there record.....

We don't have ours yet either. Does anyone else who booked through Carol have theirs yet? I am assuming they will come this week. My neighbor does not have hers yet and they book through Disney.

No I emailed Carol and she got them all on Friday. She said she needed to look at them to make sure all was well and then package them up and send to each of us and that we'll have them this week. I don't really worry about it since there really isn't anything in there - it's all more symbolic than anything.

That is such a sad commentary on our health care system in general.

But we have the best health care in the world!......for those who can afford it.
