Thats a great way to raise them.
we made our work for allowances and to help around the hosue with NO rewards of any kind, just becasue we are a family and help each other out without getting a reward.
Plus doing for others without them knowing it to learn how it feels to do soemthing for someone without being asked and to not be thanked but to know it was appreciated.

example. elderly neighbor goes to a doctor appointment so while they are gone you mow their grass, do some weeding and be done before they get home. Another neighbor is having a hard time financially, so we go to the store and buy groceries which kids can help pick out and while they were gone leave a couple bags of groceries on their porch for them without ever saying they did it.

Those are the best lessons for everyone to learn. I do believe they learned some valuable lessons from those experiences. Plus we have been on the receiving end too, so they know both sides of the situation.

See, there is room on the soap box for 2 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: as long as theirs NO plank to walk off the box.

You know my two really appreciate anything they do and get because they have to sacrifice in order to do. (I wouldn't recommend for anyone!) In order to cruise last year, the boys and I put all our birthday, Christmas money in for the vacation, they don't get an allowance--no extra money for that, they help around the house because their nana can't do a lot of it. No sob story just the way it is.

Kathy, I'm here. Remember I have to share the computer(s) this week  Christian and I have been playing a lot of Toontown and I've been playing Guitar Hero and Rockband with Skylar. And please HELP me survive the electric guitar. I'll make it! I'll make it!

I've been sleeping in until about 8 o'clock this week ;) Some days the boys haven't gotten up until 11 or 12!

Everyone be safe if you are going out tonight! Happy New Year and kisses to you all!

Jeff, that's how we do WDW most of the time. We don't even try to do the popular rides any other way!

Miss you all too!

I think our vacation whipped me out!!

Usually it takes me a couple of hours to get to sleep, but since our vacation I'm a walking zombie.....half the time I don't even remember my head hitting the pillow! :faint: :lmao:

Chayce and Nicole have been sleeping in till 10-11am also and they're normally up no later then 8am.

I just got our Royal Caribbean information in the mail a few minutes ago!

I'm impressed!....they sent me a whole big brochure of the Oasis of the Seas showing all the decks and photos of all the different areas of the ship including what our family suite will look like! :thumbsup2

They sent information for the kids about the kids clubs and what activities they will get to do.

Man that's a big ship!!

Hi everyone,
Greg it took us about 3 weeks to recover from our trip and we only had the week. All the theme parks are tiring, you are having so much fun youj ust dont realize it until you get home. I think Sea World is the easiest park to do but if you watch all the shows it is an all day event.
I love Clyde & Seymore show!!

Hi Dawn,
we had many years where there was no money for allowances, home made presents(they were the best) and we all pulled together to achieve a goal like a vacation too. I think that is a great life lesson too.

Well I baked my yule log but my little oven is so small I had to divide it onto 2 small pans. Spo I will have 3 small cakes. I have to make the filling yet but the cakes are cooling now.
One will be vanilla filled with chocolate buttercream frosting, another will be Mocha filling and frosting and a chocolate cake, the 3rd will be chocolate cake with chocolate filling and frosting. That should satisify everyone.
I will make one batch of chocolate chip cookies if I have the time or a batch of brownies.

It takes forever in such a small oven. My convection oven bit the dust months ago and I dont cook in the microwave so I bake in a toaster oven. They work great but are small.

Thats all so far for me, clothes are washed but not dried yet. I will put them on the dryer soon, Just didnt want to walk over to the rec room yet.

Kathy

Hi Shell,

Wish we could go with you guys, but Holly has reached that "terrible two" stage and I think she plans on staying there for a while. :sad2:

I swear some days I think that child is hell bent on driving me crazy or driving me to drink......or both?! :rolleyes1

Which ship are you guys cruising on?

Greg-Are you guys still going on DCL? Or are you bumping that cruise further out?

Hi Lorna!

One of these cruises we have booked for 2010 will probably get bumped further out.....not sure which one though?

If there are enough Nana's cruising on the Dec. 4 2010 sailing we'll probably keep it....if not we'll bump it out onto one of the new ships. :thumbsup2

Did you guys re-book on board for 2010?

P.S. Nicole says to tell Jordan and Madison "Hi"!! (I'm sure Holly would to if she could talk)

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL THE NANA HEADS!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays........ Gosh I miss that boat.... We booked to go on June 13th when the cheap cabins opened.... It will be our first cruise not in December!!!

Hey if anyone wants to send me some magnet designs please share... DS is not aware of this cruise because he is being surprised like my other rugrats... He is computer savvy and I suck... I know the links are available but I saw the other nana doors so I know yall gotz skilz!!!:rolleyes1

Hi April, here is a site I used for my door signs.
i just printed off the design like any picture and it came out the right size for the standard size paper. I printed on normal paper first to make sure it was ok, then to magnetic paper.

http://s205.photobucket.com/albums/bb317/rumblytumbly_bucket/Blanks/

Greg put a few words on some of them for me, but i dont know whst he did to get that to work but even without words there are great sign materials.
There are 189 photos on this site.

Kathy
