The sun finally came out late today but is already gone:(

catch everyone later,

Kathy

Well I am just off for my last day of work before the holiday not sure I will get much work done.

It has been really hot here for the last 2 days and we just cant cool down.

We dont have air conditioning here unfortunatley.

Good Morning Lisa! Toodles to Chuck, Kathy and Melanie when they show up a little later :wave2:

You must be so excited, Lisa! Have a great, great time!

It rained during the night--just a nice rain though! We are supposed to have weather in the 70s today. That will be nice for a change. I just wish we would get rid of the gloom and doom weather!

Nothing much on the agenda for today. Will sign the boys up for the summer reading program at the library and stop at the post office and that's about it!

Will check back when everyone comes around later. Have a great day!

I had never used air conditioning up to last year. Here in Michigan we might have gotten 2 -3 90 degree days in a whole summer and it still cooled down at night so the house remained relatively cool. But last year, I don't remember how many, but lots of days in a running stretch so the house never cooled down--it was unbearable. So I broke down and got 2 air conditioners. After all, we always have had the pool outside to go jump in when we're hot. Just this last week we had a couple 90 degree days.

Congratulations to Christian on winning a game (and actually getting to play one too:cutie: )

Well... hate to "rain on the parade" but believe it or not I have MORE bad news to report... will try to keep it to a minimum.

My parents and my sister were evaculated from their homes yesterday due to flooding.:( My other sister, who had moved her belongings to a storage area after the tornado had to move her belongings OUT of there because it was going to be flooded1:scared1:

Iowa had bad flooding in 1993. This is looking to be just as bad. I guess the sandbag wall they had built collapsed so my brother gave up the fight at my parents home and opened the windows to the basement so the water wouldn't break them.

And my BIL's mother who survived the tornado is now having health problems from the debre she breathed in when the house came down around her.

We were going to go camping into Nebraska for Father's Day weekend but now I'm offering to us to head that direction... IF we can find a dry campground. So hopefully we can help with the cleanup.

Anyway.. sorry to be such a downer... I just can't believe all of this is happening:worried:

We have been hitting 98 the last 5 days....with heat indexes at 105 to 110. Philadelphia schools have been closing at noon because many of them do not have air conditioning. It is supposed to drop back down to 87 tomorrow...it has been difficult to get anything done outside. We usually don't get this weather until August.

Other than that nothing great happening here either. Sitting at my desk wishing I was on a beach somewhere... :beach:

well guys and gals, while your roasting I am freezing:cold: and pouring rain!:umbrella: it is suppose to get better after today but I never believe it until it happens.

I hate the smell of wet dogs nd that is what I have because they do have to GO outside a few times a day. I use an old towel to dry them the best I can but they are still damp. Now Minnie is wrapped in a disney beach towel and all you can see is her ears:lmao: Pixie is having to do without becauae my other big towels are in storage for now.

Melanie, for your family. Keep us posted on how they are doing.

Hi Dawn,
Ho Lisa

Melanie, that's what we are here for...we care

Isn't the weather been something! And the damage is can do! It sure makes us appreciate what we have and who we have around us!

Kathy,

Put Minnie's shirt back on! :rotfl:

Seriously though, Alexis has a rain coat. Her belly gets wet, well maybe, half the time if the grass is wet she just goes on the bricks! She doesn't like getting her feet wet! :lmao: They really do work!

I agree...makes my complaining about the heat so insignificant compared to tornados, floodiing, and health issues. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Chuck :goofy:

Hey Chuck we usually don't have that hot of weather until later either. Can't believe it's that hot there! Are you in an urban area? If it's not one thing it's another! It's warm here but just in the low 80's.

Yes Dawn... the weather sure has gotten everyone this year!!! I'm a little worried about my Mom with all of this, because she fights depression anyway, and also has been having some health problems.

Kathy our dog has the worst "wet dog smell" of any dog I've ever smelled! It's awful! I would hate that smell in a RV! you have my sympathy on that one for sure!

Just thought I'd share some photos we took last night. We got on the back side of one a storm and got some neat photos of it. I do a blog for our business so I posted them on the business blog:

It's very nice this afternoon--about 80 degrees and sunny!

that's it...rub it in....lol

I feel like Glinda from the wizard of oz....I'm melting....thank god it's going back to 87 tomorrow...I may need to break out a sweater...
