Chuck- Before February 1st I worked for 8 years for the Metro Omaha Builders Association. I can tell you all kinds of stories about contractors!

Lisa- If I were so close to a vacation I would be REALLY excited. Unfortunately right now our next vacation is this cruise!!:worried:

I'm sure we'll go someplace before then... but nothings in the works right now! Have to sell some photos first!

I would be more excited but the job thing is kinda putting a dampener on things a bit not too much though.

That's understandable!!

Hey Kathy- What is the highest number of posts before we have to start a new thread?

an update to my glorious day.....fired the contractor...the last straw was he ruined some wood work in the house and wanted to charge me to fix it....on top of all the other fiascos....only paid him half so we aren't out everything

I keep reminding myself....Happy Thoughts....Happy Thoughts....:tinker: pixiedust:

Hey Kathy- What is the highest number of posts before we have to start a new thread?

Obviously I have nothing better to do....lol

We have been averaging 30 posts a day since I joined the thread on May 25th. There are 539 days until the cruise...so if we stick with the average we will at a minimum hit 16,170 posts. But I am sure the closer we get to the cruise the average will go up. The question is still with Kathy on the number of posts before a new thread is started.

It's been lonely here....hope everyone is having a great weekend. Got a good recommendation for another contractor....coming out tomorrow morning to look at what needs to be done to clean up the mess.

Have a great night and see y'all tommorrow

What are Keens? Sounds like we need some!

You know Alex is my child so of course I think he's the best looking kid ever... but he really does have the longest darkest eyelashes of any kid I've ever seen. And they've always been that way even since he was really little. So when he was a baby it looked like someone taped butterfly wings to his eyelashes.

Jacksons are long and dark too, but not as much as Alex!

Melanie, Keens are all sport sandal. They can get wet, and are close toed like shoes but they are open like sandals.

Good Morning 09ers!

I'm over to Stephanie's house on her computer because we are one of the 11,000 people in Kalamazoo that are without electricity! That was one of the worst storms I've been through in a long time! We had 2 separate sirens that went off. The first siren not much happened but we ran for the basement before the second siren went off. It started raining and hailing sideways! And hard! After the storm, I'll take some pictures... The pool liner is in shreds, the cover for the grill has big holes in it from the huge hail. A tree split in two different ways next door one over the house and the over right along side my fence. A tree in the back ripped out the back section of fence. I was afraid the screens (and windows) would be broken but they came out fine.

I don't know when we'll get our electric back. We've got to clean up the yard today. So I'll check back in when I can.

Chuck, Sorry to hear about that contractor!

HOLY COW DAWN!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I'm so glad you guys are alright and didn't receive to much damage!!!

We had a storm go through here yesterday with winds of around 50-60 mph that took some shingles off our roof, but nothing like you had! :scared1: :scared1:

Our power usually goes out at least once a month, so we have a battery backup system with a generator that can provide power for weeks.....or until I run out of fuel?! :rolleyes1

Hope your power is restored soon!

Dawn,

Glad you and the family are safe and you had no major damage. I used to live in Wisconsin and I do not miss those sirens going off. You just never know. Hope you get the electricity back on soon.

morning all, just have a minute before I have to go to the vet with minnie but had to say

YIKES Dawn !!!! Glad you guys are ok. Hope the power comes back soon.
When we lived in Florida we had alot of bad storms so we were like Greg and kept a generator and extra gas for it during storm season.

I am not 100% sure how many posts til we have to do a new thread. Our first was cut off at 5300 and the 2nd was cut off at 3700 on the 08 cruise.
Probably the 3700 is closer because they just started doing that with the first thread.

Once the 08 is done a huge amount of people will be posting here from there and our posts will really shoot up!! right now the 08 is about 6 to 8 pages a day. so be prepared when that happens. it will get crazy here.;)

well I need to get going, it is about 123 miles to the vet and my moms, then another 15 to the park to let the dogs run a bit, then another 10 to my grandaughters graduation party, then about 110 miles back to home.
I dont mind the drive, just the price of gas to do it!!

will check back then.

Dawn i will be anxious to see you pics when you get them down loaded and have electricity to post again. Take care and dont over due on the clean up work.

Have a good day everyone, will check back as soon as i get back this evening.

Kathy

Hi Gang!
We had a Senior Photo Open House today from noon-4. Not a lot of traffic, but we booked 3 sessions so thats good!:)

Chuck- you might just want to go visit the 2008 thread just to get a feel for what you're in for in December! Watch out!! :rotfl2: Sorry to hear about the contractor debacle! I hope you can find another one soon.

Dawn- so sorry to hear about your house. Is everything ok?

Tornado update: For those that may be wondering, my sister found out this week that her house that we thought was going to be ok after the tornado is actually condemned. Somebody came and look at it and said it wasn't safe to live in anymore from the damage. Then she also found out that her car was totalled too. The good news is they have found another house already and she can get into it in a couple of weeks. She's in a hotel now, which I believe is financed by FEMA. The other house that my OTHER sister & BIL owned was demolished today.
