:wave2: Good Morning Cheri!

Glad to see you on the '09 posting. This is only post 13 so Mel or Kathy you have your chance!

good night everyone,

I am pooped after another day of getting ready to move:eek:
I sure hope this is the last move for awhile.

I did sell my car today, they will come by tomorrow to pay for it and pick it up. That was perfect timing because on the 20th I would of had to send in a payment and also the insurance is due to be sent in on the 20th so I wont have to pay that either, plus thursday we would of had to rent a tow dolly to tow it across the U.S. on our trip which after taxes and fees is around $700:scared:
we bought a used one fo rtowing Peters car and it cost us $700 but at least when we get there we can resell it and get our money back if we want:thumbsup2
Movers are coming thursday to get the last of the furniture and hopefuly friday we will hit the road:yay: :yay:

catch everyone later,

Kathy

Kathy,

Did you get a wireless card for your laptop? I hope so. I'm sure all of us would love to hear from you while you are on the road! OMG--Kathy and Greg from Oregon!

I hear Oregon is beautiful... now I'll have someone to ask LOTS of questions about it. What's the weather like? Is it cold there? Is there lots of parks? What about National Parks? And campgrounds? How close will you be to the ocean?:rotfl:

Hi Cheri! :hippie: I missed you! Going good here. I'm just adjusting to the change!

Howdy ladies,

Dawn,
Oregon is beautiful, I have lived there all but 10 years of my life.
where we are headed it is about an hour to the beach and about the same to the mountians.
Lotsof parks to camp at all over the state, fishing, hiking, camping are everywhere.

Crayter Lake is AWESOME to see. The Painted dessert area is beutiful and Mount Hood and Mt. Bachelor are incredible for beauty and skiiing in the winter. Summers are pleasant, NO humidity and from the end of june until October is great weather, the rest of the year it rains and rains and rains:sad2: and you can get some ice and snow for maybe 2 weeks a year, but it is more common to go 4 ot 5 years with NO snow or ice in the Salem area.

Other areas get hit every year. Bend is a very pretty area, we lived there before. The beaches are not anythng like beaches here.

Lots of rock formations and you see lots of sea lions in their caves and some walrus too. Lots of sand dunes in the Florence area and dune buggy ridea are a real Hoot to go on. Plenty of sand to walk and look for shells and critters. It is very windy and the temp stays around 55 most of the year. In the summer you will hit a few 70 degree days.

time to have some late lunch, will check back later if I get the chance,

kathy

Hi everyone,

well another hot day today. we did sell my car last nigth so i feel much better about that.I wont have to make a payment this month, will also save on insurance also due this month and the biggest savings is we wont have to rent a tow dolly, for it YEAH!!
They are so expensive, getting one for Peters was enough.

well today I start packing the motorhome and pick a few last minute kitchen items for the movers and lamps from our bedroom.

well time to run now, so much to do,

Kathy

Congratulations on selling your car Kathy. Oregon does sound nice, that's on our "list" of places to see!

I'm in the house today with Jackson who is sick again, this time the throwing up variety which is not fun!:scared1: Sure was nice not to have to deal with boss lady though who was never very understanding about sick kids!:)

just popping in to day hello.
It is suppose to be close to 90 tomorrow. very windy too.

Hope Jackson is better now, it is so hard to care for sick kids, especially when they are young.

I am just taking a break for a few mintues which feels really good.

I am making progress but it takes so much time.
Movers will be here thursday afternoon and my internet will be cut off early friday, so it may be a while before i will post after that.

catch ya later,

Kathy

had a minute to say Howdy.
Been gathering trash for the final pick up before the move. I know there will be something left to throw away, there always is no matter how careful I am, but most will be out for pickup tomorrow.

I have the motorhome2/3 packed, will hopefully finish tomorrow and toiletry things on friday and saturday early we leave.

I am so tired of all this moving stuff:rolleyes1

catch everyone once more before i loose my server, I hope

enjoy your evening all,

kathy

I feel your pain DS did that to me last week the last day DH was out of town! Was pretty sure he gagged himself while coughing but I didn't see it so couldn't send him to school.:sad2: Unfortunately the woman I work with is on maternity leave and I had to go in to work - what a crappy decision to have to make!:headache: So I trotted him in and was actually hoping they would send me home - no luck! But he was fine - it's always a great adventure to go to work with a parent. Hope your little guy is feeling better.

Now my DH has strep - they are worse than the kids! Hopefully he won't share with us just in time for Easter.

Kathy - I'm sure you've already answered this but what prompted the cross country move? Anything specific or did you just get some wanderlust? Some days the idea of moving miles away is so appealing! ;)

morning ladies,

Dawn, no we didnt get a card for the laptops, but we are moslty staying at KOA campgrounds and many of them have internet service available. a couple of them are free internet, others are a small fee. when we hit the free ones I will post or if they dont charge much I will use the other too.

Michelle,
Mu husband got laid off, he builds houses and if you watch the news I'm sure you have heard that that indusrty is terrible here in Florida. We are the 2nd worst state in the U.S for builders closing down and and people being laid off.
OREGON IS OUR HOME STATE, OUR DAUGHTERS, GRANDKIDS AND MOMS, AND SIBLINGS ALL LIVE THERE. sorry about the caps, i didnt know it was on and I am too lazy to retype it.
There is some work there we know about that Greg will try for, our sons both have jobs waiting for them already.
If we dont find work there in 30 days we will check out other states.
Once our adult sons are set up we can come and go as we please

In a couple of years we really want to spend winters in Florida and summers in Oregon. we would live in the motorhome while in Florida and stay in a small house or mobile home in Oregon. we will keep it for retirement time.

we can easily live on what he would make at seasonal jobs at theme parks and such. that way we could do some traveling while our health holds out too.

But for now we are moving to find work. That is why we moved to Florida 8 years ago, now we are going in reverse.:rotfl2:

well got to get to work, lots ot do still and only 2 days til we leave.
I will try to post once more this evening before we are cut off from our server but will try to post along the way when I can.

kathy

Hey,
Where is everyone:confused3

Nobody posted all day, just me:sad2:

lets keep this us off page 2, we have a ways to go but we need to keep us active like the 08 board, dont let 08 beat out the 09 board:cheer2: :cheer2:

well my service should be gone tomorrow, so will say catch ya later now and willpost when I get a chance,

will miss everyone on both boards for awhile,

kathy

Kathy - sorry about DH - sadly it's happening to so many. You seem to have a really great attitiude about it. Have faith things usually happen for a reason - my problem is I'm always rushing to figure that dang reason out!

My Mom and step-dad have a huge (to me anyway ) motor home and they split their time between FL and MA so you'll have plenty of company if you plan to snowbird!

But yay for being closer to family - mine are either in FL or MA/RI and the way the gas prices keep going up I may not make it up there this year either.:sad1: But we are all meeting in the World in Nov :woohoo:

Hope you have a very safe - and fun trip! Someday I think it would be a blast to drive cross country. Keep us posted on all the cool things you see - I'm envisioning the largest ball of twine, the biggest rubber band ball, the largest frying pan........:rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Hi Mel!

Hope Jackson is feeling better real soon. It IS nice not to have to deal with a boss who is unsympathetic.

Is Chris in a better mood these days???!!! Husker season is right around the corner so that should perk him up!!!!:goodvibes

Kathy safe travels -- if all else fails, you could always find work in a whip factory or dungeon!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have a great night!

Hi Gang!
Well the stomach flu that had Jackson down took all the rest of us down yesterday. Chris was the last to get it and is still recovering. Alex and I are just getting our appetites back now.

Kathy- Just wanted to say drive carefully! KOA's are usually really nice campgrounds. Will you be coming through the Omaha area? Most of the campgrounds we stay at have free internet, but we don't always stay at KOA's either.

Cheri- Right now they're all talking NCAA b-ball tournament since they are here at the Qwest Center right now. Not much Husker talk yet... soon I'm sure with the spring game tho!

Dawn- I'll try to help you keep the page at the top! Hope things are warming up in Michigan. They are here!

Hi Michelle! Actually I work for myself now. I started working for our business on February 1st. We have a photography/design studio. www.heartlandphotos.com So now I don't have to deal with the whole boss/sick kid stuff anymore. Our kids still got to daycare (otherwise we'd never get anythingdone!) It's just pressure I put on myself because of work I know I need to get done! (For example right now Alex and I are both in the studio... he's watching a movie and I'm working.) But I was in the regular work force for MANY years so believe me I understand!

Hey Mel, hope you guys get better soon. It's bad enough to have one sick, but it is really bad when it goes around to everyone else.

Dawn, I think you asked on the 08 board, but we don't know if we will be on the 08 or 09 cruise. The girls are doing great, hope you and your boys are as well.

I guess Kathy is on the road now, I am sure she will be checking in on us to make sure we are all posting and not misbehaving while she is away!!!!!!:rotfl:
