Hi everyone :wave2:

You are all so lovely, I don’t think my family even gave making all our FE’s a second thought :lmao: but they are all finished, except I still need to find the plastic rod for the top.

We have settled into our new place & I have the net back on at home now, which is such a relief as we aren’t really supposed to use it at work. Our wedding plans are pretty much sorted and we only have a few details to iron out for our home reception.

Now noone panic ! I have a spreadsheet set up with everyone’s details in it for the FE's (or as much as they have sent me). When I get home I will post the usernames of all who are in it, so if I have missed anyone please just let me know.

I think I may have asked before but I don’t suppose the other 2 brides/grooms that sail with us are on the thread :confused3

Can we leave on the cruise now please? DD5 is still crying every day at kindergarten....and before kindergarten the moment she wakes up..and sometimes the night before kindergarten. We finally figured out what's wrong. For some prehistoric reason we have half day kindergarten here and she sees some of the kids get picked up after the half day and go home while she gets on a bus to go to an afterschool program 3 days a week. Her best friend goes to the same program and she is always happily playing there when we pick her up but it's the concept that she doesn't get to come home like some other kids. We've explained that it isn't going to change, that mommy and daddy work, that she'd be bored silly if she came home even if we were there (and she would be) but she cries, cries cries. Being an older dad is taking its toll this time.

On to happier topics. Cruising!!!! Only about 3 people have PMd me about coming to a cruise meet so I'll keep posting reminders here. We'd love to do a DIS boards cruise meet at 2:45 p.m. in the Promenade Lounge just to meet the faces behind the posts and maybe get some of our kids acquainted for the clubs. Please send me a private message to let me know if you are in and if so, who you are, names, ages of kids, etc. and I'll compile a list for those attending.

Thanks!

jeff

Okay Jeff, I PM'd you. Sorry, I forgot. :flower3:

I am so sorry to hear about the crying still. That's so sad. Tell her that my DD gets picked up every day at 3 p.m. and she's still bored at home. :rotfl2:

We have full day K here but very few schools in our area actually have the full day. They claim that if they do full day then they will need to build more schools to handle the double load of classrooms and raise the taxes to handle the increased expenses. :confused3 Glad we are in a smaller town. It's a bad school district but I pay less in tuition at our Catholic school than I would in increased taxes in the next town.

I can't wait for this cruise!!! :cool1:

Ah Jeff that is such a tough one.I remember those days and boy do I miss them.

My DDs are 15 and 18 this month! I would give anything to go back.

Jet Blue flies direct from Boston to Pittsburgh. Come on down and fix things for us! :rotfl: Well, today was a no cry morning. I hate to say it out loud but we are VERY cautiously hopeful.

Yeah!! Hopefully Monday will be good too and you've rounded the bend. :cool1:

And you could always bribe her with the recently announced Alaskan itineraries. No crying for the rest of the year and you can go??? Just a though. :rotfl2:

It did end up being a very good day at school. No tears at all! :cool1: Alas I don't think that Alaska itinerary makes anyone in our family all that excited. We see enough cold and snow here; no need to go there on purpose and in the summer to boot. Maybe when I'm older and grayer I'll be ready for this one as I am sure it is incredible from a sightseeing standpoint. But for now, we'll stick with the beach or Europe in the summer. I was disappointed that there was no new Caribbean itinerary. Sure would like to see a Southern Caribbean in the summer months.

I was hoping for Southern Caribbean for some time other than the holidays. I want to go but don't want to miss Christmas at home with the family. And I'm trying to figure out if I can really afford the PC repo. I may try to get a room and see how things go. I work on Wall Street so...

Okay, I'll PM you but we're in. :thumbsup2 I'm one of those people that is always early and my DH is even worse. We're the type that will be sitting at the parking lot waiting for the gates to open to let us in at 10 a.m.

As for Coz, it's open. It was only closed for about a month. We are doing the Royal Dolphin Swim at Chakanaab. We booked that separately as DCL doesn't do the Royal Swim. Jeff (the guy with the pluto avi) can give you better advice as he's done this cruise before.

We will be there early too. We are staying at the Hilton the night before and are very anxious to get on board! We want to book the Royal at Chakanaab too but the 5 year old is too little. Do they take you one at a time so she could always be with DH or I?

Almost time to book our excursions! Kids sail free promotion is making me think ahead and Im wondering if a 3 or 4 night is really worth it? Do you feel as though youv e just gotten onboard and are departing? Planning on taking my 5 yearold grandson and my daughter on the next trip in April or May with this promo was thinking maybe to add the short cruise to the parks. Anyone have any input on wether it is worth it?

We did a three night with the kids sail free promotion last April in connection with a spring break trip to the parks. YES it was worth it but you have to take the "parks attitude" with you on a short cruise if you are used to the 7 nighters. We got to the port at 10 a.m., boarded the ship by 11:45, went straight to Beach Blanket Buffet and took our trays out to the pool where we stayed until the rooms were ready. Took advantage of every waking moment on the trip and didn't sleep or relax as much as we normally do on a 7 night cruise. Packed a lot into those three nights and had a blast. We booked a category 12 for a song, got upgraded to an 11. It was our first ever time in an inside cabin and we didn't love it but for a 3 night it was bearable - and because we spent so little time in the cabin it was fine. We'd do it again this year but we are booked at Bay Lake Towers on points and don't want to mess that up - but we are still thinking about it (at least I am).

:thumbsup2Thanks for your input Jeff, what didn t you like about the inside cabin? This coming cruise we are booked in cat 9 deluxe outside, there would only be 3 of us in April , do you think I should stick to a cat 9 at the least? Also we are planning on maybe a week or so at the parks which is better cruise before or after. By the way I hope Emily starts to feel better about school! Tori is very excited to meet Elizabeth!

I really like having the verandah as I'm just a touch claustrophobic. However, it was fine for 3 nights. We just didn't spend any time in the room. WIth three females and me, it was harder to get ready without the split bath too. I thought I'd like the "larger" one bathroom but it is not really larger than a half of the split bath IMO.

Pretty much everyone on earth will tell you to do the parks before the cruise. I like it the other way around. We love the cruise so much that when you get off the ship, if you are going home immediately it's pretty sad. In fact when we did the 3 nighter during spring break we actually had 1 night at the parks before the cruise, then 2 nights after the cruise. That was a good thing. For this sailing in November, we will have 2 nights at the Boardwalk Villas beforehand and one at Saratoga afterward. Ease back into the real world...

Oh and Elizabeth is also very excited to meet Tori. Here's hoping they hit it off in person too (Lizzie's a little shy at first)>

I think that doing the cruise before the parks sounds good to me, I like the idea of having something still to look forward to! If we do end up doing the 3 or 4 night in the spring I will book it with the cruise first, thanks for giving me a different way of looking at it! Now I just need to figure out 3 or 4 nights? :cool1:

I looked over the itinerary and am considering booking onboard for Alaska, but not sure if we will be able to book 2011 on our cruise. I guess I'll have to do a dummy date and change it when they start booking. DH & I were supposed to go to Alaska for our 25th anniversary, but DS was only 10 & DD was in college, so we ended up going to WDW for the first time instead. I am figuring on the 2nd last cruise in August, which would be over our 39th Wedding Anniversary. I could wait till our 40th, but why wait?:thumbsup2 The only thing I'm not thrilled about is getting to Vancouver and back. I hate to fly and always have trouble with my ears, no matter what I do.:confused3
