11/26/2011 EARLY Bananahead reunions cruise

Greg I gotcha beat,

we were 10 this morning and will be single digits tonight.
Friday evening as we change over to a bit warmer w ehave rain coming which will be snow, rin ro freezing rain over night depending on how fast the warm air arrives.

I love fresh caramels!! Havnt made them in years.

I do one new thing each year. But now that i do sugar free for greg it is much harder to make some things. I want ot try and make home made marshmallows so I can make rice krispy squares anf fudge. I can make hard fudge but greg doesnt like hard fudge.
Plus I want to make divinity. It will be from scratch, no marshmallow cream. I dont know how the sugar substitute will work. so wont tell Greg I am trying it so he wont be disappointed. If the marshmallows work and I have some left I might be able to use some of them to help the divinity to thicken up if necessary.
I will do all that next week, I must get to the store this weekend and do all my shopping for presents and food first . That will be one long day for me. I need Greg to watch the pups they cant sit in the truck all day while I shop.

I do have a bit of good news. My DD got fasting tests back and her diabetes is the type that comes with pregnancy and should go away by 4 week after the birth.:goodvibes

back later,

Kathy

Ok, how does 10 degrees beat my -17? :rolleyes1

That's great new about your daughter. Janel had gestational diabetes with Holly and had to take insulin, but after Holly was born it went away. :thumbsup2

I dont ever want to be that cold, have been that cold onje winter 28 years ago when we lived at the foot of Mt. Bachelor in Bend Oregon. NEVER again:worship:

Back in 1989 we survived -44 with wind chills in excess of -80 below....all though most of the livestock and wildlife didn't.

I was in flight school at the time and we loaded up the helicopters with hay and flew around the area dropping off hay to any animals that survived.....there weren't many. :sad2:

We are at 13 today with windchills in the minus......

I really hate this time of year.

Greg are you doing the 4 days dream cruise?

Kathy: good news about your daughter

nothing else going on

Hi Denise,

Yeah, we're booked on the 4 day in October also, but I'm not sure we'll be keeping it.

We're going on a 12 day Mediterranean cruise with Bob & Lisa in December 2010 and unless I get a great airfare deal we probably won't be doing DCL.

Ok Mister Smarty Pants,

Here I was feeling sorry for you in all the cold your having, but after this I have changed my mind:snooty:

Denise,
try to stay warm in all that cold weather. We are about the same temps as you but no wind today.
I have huge ice cycles on the wall of my RV on the side where the sun never hits. It is from the condensation around the windows. Now and then we hear a crunch or breaking of glass sound which is when one of them falls to the ground and shattered.:lmao:

Kathy

The weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful! And since we've no place to go......LET IT SNOW, LET IS SNOW, LET IT SNOW!! :rotfl2:

I wish it would snow here. I don't think we've even got an inch on the ground.

The kids have been wanting to ride the snow machines, but I need at least 6-8 inches so I don't ruin the tracks.

Greg you can have our share of the snow or freezing rain due tomorrow evening.:goodvibes

Of course after we survive that warmer weather is on the way, at least for now:cool1:

I'll take all the snow you can voodoo dance up for me! If its gonna be this cold I might as well have snow to go with it. pirate:

It was so cold this morning that my eye lashes kept freezing shut when I went out to get my mail and chop some wood for the fireplace.

Morning everyone,

Well I am sitting here waiting for the ice and snow to arrive today. It is 22 right now so they figure an inch of ice this afternoon followed by snow that will freeze tonight and then it should all melt off tomorrow.

I guess the storm should hit Roseburg from noon to 2 p.m. and then head north to us and then on up the Willamette valley. Eugene shoud get hit around 5 pm. so I figure around 3 we should get hit.

So I have done 2 loads of laundry already and will zip them to the dryer this morning. I dont want to be walking later on freezing rain or ice on the ground. I know I will for the dogs potty break but I hope that all I will have to go out.

Greg, You need a skiers face mask stocking cap to protect your face. They really help as long as you dont need to wear glasses. I use one quite often but the dogs dont like it. I have to keep telling them its ok, they dont need to attack me:lmao: But it helps the bitter cold.

Back later, I need to get the clothes to the dryer now!!

Kathy

Looks like I've got two sick girls today. Nicole has swollen tonsils and a sore throat and Holly has a bladder infection. Janel took a urine sample into the doctors office and they confirmed it and are calling in a prescription for her. Nicole isn't running a fever so I think she may just have a virus?

Going to be a fun day.

Good luck with your approaching storm. :thumbsup2

I've got a face mask, but I didn't think I'd need it just to run outside for 5 minutes.

YIKES!!!!

I thought you guys already had your quota of illness for the winter:confused3

Well the bladder infection is easy to cure and isnt contagious , how ever swollen tonsils could be contagious??

Good luck!! Your going to need it:worship:

Been there, done that !!

In this cold it often takes me 5 minutes to bundle up, I go out with pups for 2 minutes then right back inside and another 5 minutes to undress the winter clothes.:lmao:

afternoon:

Greg sorry to hear about the girls......hope they get better soon.

Kathy: I know about the dogs....they are sooo funny in this weather. Jack is usually on a tieout...but when its bad icky weather, I just let him out (hes getting to old to run far) so yesterday when the temps were below zero, I let him out and he did his little job....then he started heading towards the shed...he loves going back there:confused3:confused3 not sure why...dont know what the attraction is....
so I knocked on the door and opended it....he stopped dead in his tracks looked at me and I just told him to "get in here" with head hanging he come right in.....it was kinda funny....but geez his paw's were already cold as he "walks" differently when they get too cold.
Crazy dogs!!!!

Nothing else going on here....just gonna try and keep warm this weekend.
Have a good one all

Denise:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Hi Denise,
itis crazy how dogs pick a place and are attracted to it. Usually its a bad smelling place and they seem to love the bad smell.

My girls are mad at me because I washed their blankets today and they are not dry yet and its nap time.
Minnie kept pacing from me to the washer abotu 5 or 6 times before she decided her blanket wasnt coming so she snuggled next to me and under my blanket andis now snoring like crazy.

Of course Pixie is giving me a dirty look because there is no room for her to be up here too;)

They just updated our forecast and they said our 70% chance of freezing rain this afternoon is now 40% but tonight it is a sure thing for the night.

So maybe Greg will make the company's Christmas dinner after all.:confused3

back later,

Kathy

Just got back from the pharmacy just in time for Brayden to get off the school bus.

I gave Holly a dose of her medicine and sprayed some numbing spray on Nicole's throat. I fixed Brayden a snack and now everyone is asleep! :woohoo:

We'll see how long the peace and quiet lasts?! :rolleyes1
