11/25/2006 Invasion of the Banana Heads

Tuesday, St. Maarten

We arrived in St maarten early and Charming and the King were up on deck 10 to watch us dock. We (meaning me) decided not to get off the ship real early since we had been here before and had planned to just walk around town. After getting the boys up and ready we had breakfast in Parrot Cay and around 10 or so went ashore. After disembarking we walked over to the ferry to take us to the center of town. The ride over was great and the water was beautiful.

After a little shopping the King had enough and decided to head back to the ship, he isn't much of a shopper. DS decided to go back with pawpaw, but his friend wanted to stay and do some shopping.
Charming was there for one purpose only ALCOHOL, we went in quite a few stores til, Charming could not carry anymore liquor and he headed back to the boat. Adam the Queen and I continued on our merry shopping way.
I got a great Coach bag, and lots of souvinors for back home. By now this princess is a little tired, so we head back to the boat to rest before dinner.

With tonight being pirate night, I had bought some pirate things with us so we could go in costume. We all got ready and headed to take some photos, they had a Captain Jack, that was great and the boys took a pic with him.

After the party the boys went back to find thier friends and Charming and I were going to meet some DIS friends for the night we had all been waiting for, KAROAKE.

We all met up in Rockin D and waited for the big moment. You must know that for months now we had been planning the debut of Tiara Bob and the Dreamboats. We had been ragging on some of the male members of our group about singing and they went with it. I am telling you folks hearing them sing you lost that lovin feelin was the highlight of the trip. I can't remember when I had that much fun.

Charming and I got back to the room rather late and the boys were already there in bed, they seemed stunned that we were not asleep yet, we got a great laugh out of them thinking that Charming and I were too old to be up that late. We all had a great nights sleep which was good since we had to do costums and 630 the next morning.

Tomorrow.. St thomas

Wednesday, St Thomas

Well this morning was anything but charming. After being up a little too late last night, watching the Tiara Bob and the Dreamboats concert, it was hard for all of us to get up and get to customs.
Charming being the Prince he is, woke us all up and we threw on some sweats and headed to the theater. It really wasn't so bad just an ungodly hour is all. We were through customs in no time and headed back to our stateroom to get dressed. We were not talking a Disney excursion but a tour with a group of Dissers with Sunny Liston, who I would recommend to anyone.

After a quick bite in Topsiders, we were set to meet up with Tiara Bob and his wife Lisa and Shell and Mutt all from the boards, in front of the Walt Disney Theater. But by the time we got there at 8:45 the theater was full so they shuffled us to Animators Palette to wait. This tendering in did not go well. we did not get off the boat til 1030 and we had a 1030 tour time. We finally made it in to town and met up with the rest of our tour mates, mostly Disers Jan and Dave, LindaBabe, and U2Pixies with her whole family. They let us shop around town first for about an hour, in which time we amnaged to run into so many fellow nana heads including YippySkippy, who by the end of the cruise was convinced we were stalking each other and our main man Dreamboat Wally with his wife Denise, who it seemed we saw everywhere on taht boat. Then we got on an open air bus and did a tour of the Island which included a stop at Mountaintop where Charming got us The Worlds Greatest Banana Daiquiri, being banana heads we had to try them, right?

We then were brought to a beach either Sapphire or Cokie and got to spend some time there. The water was beautiful and we had a great time with Shell and Bill, but had one slight diaster when Charming went into the water with his Ipod in his pocket and didnot realize this for about 30 minutes. Anyone wanna guess what Charming got for Christmas?
The boys had a great time snorkeling and were given dog biscuits by the guys there so more fish would come by them. After taht it was a long ride back to the boat with Sonny himself driving us and serending us with I'll love you everyday of the week. I swear for a week later I was singing on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday yeah....
But somehow JD99 little girl Emily found a way to sleep through the whole thing. We caught the last tender back and got onboard right before we set sailed.

Once on board we had time to get ready for dinner, DH and I were supposed to go to Palo tonight but I was so tired from being out all day that we just had dinner with the family. We met up with the King and Queen, who had taken an excursion to St John and they really enjoyed it.About an hour into dinner the waves were getting pretty bad and I was feeling awful, Charming took me outside to get some air and we ran into Kelley and Don from the boards and it seemed lots of people were feeling ill. The TV set said that the waves were 14 feet but the Captain came on later and said that they were closer to 20 feet. I was feeling really bad now so the King had come to check on me, being a good daddy that he is. And he took the boys to the show and gave them their instructions for the night and I went to bed. Charming spent some time on Deck 4 and tried to get some pics of the waves.

It was a rough night and we all slept a little fitfully but luckily noone was too ill.

Tomorrow our last day at Sea

Geez...you guys are just taskmasters! See how nice I am Wendy? I let you do your thing at your own speed.

Thursday, our last day at sea

As you remember when we left off, I had barely survived the 20 foot waves of the night before so Charming let me sleep in.I actually slept through the 2 boys getting up and dressed and Charming gave them instructions for the day and let them loose on the poor innocent people of the boat. Finally around 10 Charming came to see if I was still breathing , and warned me I was wasting time on our last sea day. Once I was up and dressed I felt much better, so Charming and I walked around Deck 10 for a bit and ran into so many Dissers, we spent time with Denise and DBW as we did pretty much every day, and of coarse we had quality time with Shell ( Charming needs his daily fix of his other Princess) It was time now to meet King and Queen for lunch, we had decided to try something different and eat in Lumiere's today. Right after we were seated the boys happen to be walking down the hall and saw us from the window so they came to join us for lunch. We all had a fairly light lunch because tonigt is our favorite night LOBSTER.
Cahrming and I went to see Santa Clause 3 that afternoon and then just walked around and chatted with friends we ran into, Kathy, Pat, Jan, ( who I know I called Pat more than once, Sorry) and my 3 headed monster partner in crime Cheri, who I did not get to spend nearly enough time with regretablly.

The boys were back in the room on time today and were already getting dressed when we arrived, which we should have known walking down the hallway there was an overwhelming scent of Axe, for any of you with teenage boys you know this is there cologne, deodarant and spray of choice, but at 12 they didnot know not to use all three at the same time:lmao:

Once dressed and I finished looking at Charming as if he was crazy to wear DS sponge Bob tie we were off, the look on the King's face when he saw my 44year old husbandin a bright yellow tie was priceless.

After dinner, can we say 2 lobster for everyone that night, we took some pictures in the atrium and then let the boys go off on there own and we went to Diversions and met some friends for a drink, hey nanaheads, wanna guess if Trey was there, it was Trey's birthday so Woogal and Cruisemutt, Jeff(jd99 ) and a few others met up in Diversions to help Trey celebrate. after a nother great night we were off to bed sad that tomorrow was our last day.

Thanks for your report. It looks by your report that I have chosen the right excursion for St. Thomas. We are reserved on 11/28/07 for Sunny Liston. Any other newbees want to come? I chosen the 9 a.m. pickup--I figured we would make the most of the day! :cool1:

Dawn :hippie: , Skylar (11) pirate: , Christian (10) pirate:

More great installments!:thumbsup2

I agree, one of my biggest regrets (disappointments) was that we never seemed to run into you around the ship. Well, next time when you room with us, we'll see you all the time!:lmao: :lmao:

Friday, Castaway Cay

We all awoke early today, as it was our last day and we wanted to get as much Disney time as possible. As it was a beach day it did not require any makeup so we were all ready early. We headed up to deck 10 to watch the Magic pull in. After a quick bite with the King and Queen we were ready to get off the boat. We saw the tree from our stateroom and wanted to do some photos there before it got too crowded.

We ran into Woogal and cruisemutt as we were starting towards the beach and walked with them, instead of taking the tram so we could get some photos along the way.

The boys

Since this was our 6th DCL we had a favorite spot on CC, its right at the edge of the family beach where you rent the snorkle equipment, we really enjot this spot and got there in time to secure some chairs, then Charming and the boys went to snorkle.

After a brief snorkle Charming had to head over to Serenity Bay for his massage. The parents decided to go back to the boat since neither of them are beach lovers. I stayed and watched the boys for a bit then we headed to the BBQ for some lunch, which as usual was great.

HPIM1688.jpg

Right as we were finishing our lunch we ran into Cruisemutt and I stayed and had a Konk Cooler, which was my first and will not be my last. I then had to rush back because we had a Banana Boat excursion scheduled.

HPIM1689.jpg

HPIM1691.jpg

The ride was OK at first but on the way back into shore, the driver flipped the boat and everyone on our side fell off, as I got my bearings all I heard was MOMMMMMM and my heart dropped, my 12yo was holding his shoulder and crying. I got to him at teh same time that the boat driver did, he saw him come up and jumped in, because Charming was laughing and having a great time he never noticed that DS was hurt.
He couldn't move his arm at all and I was getting pretty anxious at this point, by teh time we walked him in the manager if the boat company was there and he walked us to first aid. DS was able to move his arm a bit now but was in quite a bit of pain. I will tell you I was not thrilled with the nurse at first aid though, all she did was give him some Advil and say it wasn;t dislocated.
So Charming and I started back to the boat, by the time we got there my parents who saw us flip from the 4th Deck were waiting for us. Charming went back to the beach to get our things and I took the boys up to the stateroom. DS was still not relly moving his arm so my dad took him to the hot tub to see if the heat would help him, and I stayed in the cabin and started to pack. That lasted nearly 10 minutes when DS friend came to tell me that DS was throwing up and my dad was taking him to the infirmary.
The people at the infirmary were wonderful teh doctor came right in and saw DS and said that the arm was just sore and the muscles tight, but took a good deal of time with us , DS felt much better by the time we left.
He went to take a nap in my parents room since they were already done packing and I headed next door to get some done. At 430 for the all abord our stateroom was right above the ramp to get in and we saw a bunch of DISSERS getting on the boat.
Our last night at dinner was wonderful and we had a great time
HPIM1706-1.jpg

HPIM1707-1.jpg

After dinner we let the boys go since DS friend was in the talent show.
They were able to enjoy the last night with all thier friends as did Charming and I.
We went to see the farewell show and then headed back to the stateroom to put the luggage out. We then met our Nana Heads in Diversions for Pub Night and some farewell chat.
Sarah and Stony, Kelly and Don, Jeff and Mina, Shell and Bill, Laurie and John, and Tonya and Trey it was a pleasure spending our last night with you guys and don't mind saying it was a little hard to say goodbye. But after lots of hugs and a few hidden tears Charming and I headed back to the stateroom for the final time.
