Kathy/Dawn-Thanks for the heads up on the handicap area. My mom doesn't have a disability card although I keep telling her she needs to look into it. Every year we go, she's a little bit slower (poor mommy). My DH and I would be more than happy to push her, so I'm definitely going to discuss it with her.

You can get a disability card for Disney at the Guest Services in the front of any park. If she uses a wheelchair, she won't need the card.

Whatever do you mean?:confused3

Dawn-Thanks, I didn't know that. I always wondered about it though. I thought "what do people do that can't stand long periods of time, but don't really need a wheelchair?" I guess that's what they do. I think the wheelchair is probably a good idea though. I don't want her being sore as she starts the cruise. She wasn't going to take the walker at first but I told her it was a pretty big ship and she should take it with her.

Good morning ... Have a meeting shortly and then the long journey home... hopefully I'll be able to get on and see what you nuts have been doing all day while I have my layover.

HEY WENDY! I left the phone right next to my head last night, anticipating your call! How can we make sexy talk if you don't call? :rotfl2:

mornin' all. I'm at O'Hare waiting for my 8:45 (Chicago time) flight. Had a very productive day yesterday so that always makes the travel part easier to deal with.

Happy Friday to all!!!

Photos of the day. Since I haven't taken an eastern... here's some photos of Nassau.

Atlantis

and just so you don't think he's a little angel:

I love the Atlantis! We got engaged on their beach back at Christmas 1997. That was back in the day when cruise passengers didn't have to buy a day pass to go out to the beach.

We have another spectacular weekend (weather-wise) coming up. Today we may actually get close to 90!

A couple cruise things -- someone had asked about little girls wearing princess dresses to dinner. Go for it! :thumbsup2 I think you'll see lots of girls in princess wear all week long. Jessalyn will wear a princess dress at least one night. Her aunt bought her a "fairy princess" dress in Vegas and she may wear that for formal night.

I will also head to Disney Store right before or after Halloween to see if they anything on clearance.

Also, for those of you who have done them, what are your opinions about:

-- Tea with Wendy or Alice (or whoever)

-- Gingerbread House Making

-- Kite Making

-- Wine Tasting

Are they worth the time and effort?? Or is it time I'll wish I had back??? Thanks for your thoughts!

I get to go help at Jessalyn's school today!:teacher: When the number showed up yesterday on Caller ID, I immediately wondered what was wrong -- was she sick or in trouble?:rolleyes1

Have a magical-nana day!!!

I really love the Christmas decorations on board. Nothing like getting into the holiday spirit while in paradise!:thumbsup2 The only downside is that they don't play the Disney "soundtrack" music all the time in the hallways & stairwells -- it's usually Christmas carols. I like the carols, but really missed getting songs like "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" and "Chimm Chimm Cheree" stuck in my head for an entire day!:sad2:

I bet the CM's love it when they change to Christmas. Can you imagine listening to that all day every day.

Kathy,
The first time I saw this picture I didn't notice the little kids standing in front of the tree!! Those aren't your grandchildren are they?

No not my grandkids. they just happened to be standing there when Greg took the shot. mine are cuter;)

Cheri, the gingerbread house decorating is fun. it is all baked and the decorations are in a baggie for you. just assemble it and decorate. Then you can eat them:goodvibes If you dont want to eat them they ask you to donate them to a CM because it is illegal to take them off the ship.

You must sign up ahead of time at the guest services desk to do this but Yes it is worth the time to do it. I think Jeff and his family were in there when we did ours last year too. Maybe he will give his opinion when he gets home today.

well off to clean up some dirty dishes,

kathy

:scared1: :scared1:

I also noticed that they were usually playing many of those real obscure Disney songs that you would only find on a "Disney's Greatest Non-Hits Collection"! (And I had actually heard of many of them.:sad2: )

I re-read your caption under the picture of DS!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yep!!! They do have great food. Also spent a lot of time at CiCi's; you can feed a family of 5 pretty cheep there. Another place I miss is Zero's. They have great subs!!!

Cheri - we really liked the gingerbread house making> it was fun for the whole family!

Tea with Wendy/Alice. The girls did this on both trips while I did something else... and though they "liked" it...it wasn't that huge of a hit. I think they went back the second time only because it was at a time when they didn't have anything else to do and I had a massage planned.

Wine tasting - Mina and I did this on the Nov. sailing and thought it was fun. It was a little more "serious" than the martini tasting..but wine is our drink of choice..so it was a good time even though it was a little staid.
