Shell, Mutt, hope you both have an awesome time
Just have mercy on the city, it has been through so much already

Anybody else have plans for the weekend?
We are going to clean before company comes next Wednesday night. it is going to be 95 + Today, and Saturday and Sunday with high humidity, so it will feel well over 100.

we will be inside after 10 a.m. unless we are in the pool.

How did the meet go??
I hope the kids all had fun.


I just read apost on my carnival thread which I thought was strange.
One lady owns a t-shirt print shop and was going to make a shirt for all of us out of left over shirts at NO charge. She was going to put a ship on the front and our names on the back.
She then received a letter from Carnival saying they would NOT allow her to print us the shirts.
The CC sent her a letter saying they had shirt with the Cruise critic logo on them for sale.

Now maybe they thought it was going to be a Carnival ship and it is a trade mark issue. But she never said it was a carnival ship, just a sailing ship.
They didnt state a reason why, just they wouldnt allow her to print the shirts and give them to us to wear.
She is writing back to get details.
But the only way Carnival could of known about this was either moderators on CC saw this and told them or carnival was skimming the threads and saw the posts about it.
As long as she doesnt use any logos or photos that are trademarked I cant understand how they could tell her NOT to print the shirts. Lots of families have matching shirts on board the ships.

Anyway I thought maybe you guys could tell me your thoughts on this. I am curious on your opinions.

Hey Kathy
The other team canceled the meet. We were having bad storms in the afternoon but the prediction was for clearing. After all the parents made the 30 minute drive to their pool, they decided to cancel because "it might storm again." now the organization that needs to take place for these meets is overwhelming. The coaches spend 7-10 hours doing lineups because there are so many kids on the team. When they cancel, they effectively have to start from scratch because some kids won't be able to make the time of the next meet and some who were not there last night will be. It's very frustrating. I thought the president of the swim team was going to blow a fuse when I saw her last night.

As to the shirt issue, it doesn't make any sense. And who the hell cares what Carnival says. Do they say they can tell people what to wear? I don't think so. If it's a carnival ship, maybe they have a point, but I think to spite them, she ought to print them with a picture of the Magic on it.

Thats a great idea. I should tell her to put the Magic on it. I know she is contacting them in person to ask them what the heck they are talking about.


Sorry to hear about the cancelation. that has to be very disappointing for all the kids as well as the adults. I hope they can work it out soon. Too bad they couldnt have a morning meet on a saturday. The storms usually hit in the afternoons or later.
I'll keep my fingers crossed they work it out soon for the kids sake.

Well I got my grocery shopping done before it hit 90 outside. i did buy some ice cream so i was in a hurry. It is 92 at noon, so we will hit 95 easily.
Today is our late fathers day BBQ for Greg, maybe I should just set the steaks on the grill in the sun and dont even light up the flames.

well off to have lunch, then to do ironing.
