The rainforest? I have never been there with more than 4 people. I don't buy a week pass because I usually waggle myself/Robin into visits with treatments(2), but may reconsider this time. It is quiet, chairs look hard because they are made out of tile but they are warm and and yummy- with aromatherapy showers and sometimes champagne. YUM:flower:

So, we just looked at the Sunny Liston Tours. Who is booking this and for which island? How long would you recommend for shopping?:confused3

We did Sunny on St. Thomas last year. I think we opted for 2 hours of shopping. Actually, just so you know, what that means is that they meet you, tell you to be at the van at noon, and let you loose in downtown until that time. So it just depends on how much you want to and like to shop. For us, 2 hours was a lot. I think we could've done less.

Bill & I are opting for Sunny's friend, Victor, on St. Maarten. Last year we did the Golden Eagle Catamaran snorkle tour which was AWESOME, but we really loved St. Maarten and just didn't get a chance to explore it like we would have liked to. So we're foregoing the Golden Eagle this year. Most importantly, part of his tour is getting to go to the beach by the airport! We SO want to do that!

Really thanks all! Love the dancing bananas:banana: Is that how the group name was devised?
Shell I will email you my info, just looking for a family photo. Most of the photos are of dh & ds, I am always behind the camera. I won't be a dork ;) and will book the radisson, we stayed there last time and had no problems.
Kathy we have early dinner and would love to hook ressies.I'll send you our info.
I loved the rainforest, dh did not do it just me. It was wonderful relaxing alone time but I'm sure would be enjoyable with friends. The showers(you wear bathing suits) have multiple nozzles and some are scented (think aromatherapy), sauna, steam room and the chairs which are heated. I never had champagne:mad: there is lemon water and towels. I believe the spa specials were offered on port days. Dh enjoyed his massage on board but not at serenity bay(too much noise to relax).

The actual origin of the dancing bananaheads is in question. No one REALLY knows for sure who started the wacky thing. I've heard stories that it started way back in the 18th century....in China....or Canada (same thing-they both start with C). Its like how many licks does it take to finish a tootsie roll tootie pop....the world may NEVER know.

Hi, all...I guess we learn the new World ticket rates today...let's face it, we'd pay anything, wouldn't we??? Judy and I scam and save all year so we can splurge on vacations.:cool2: :cool2: :cool2: pixiedust: We're headed to Myrtle Beach for fun, sun, and (dare I say it, Josh.)..back to school shopping. Judy and I both work in the school system and we TRY not to mention the back to _______ thing. We LOVE what we do, but we tend to act like we are on vacation on weekends, etc. See, that imaginary world thing really works!:rolleyes1

The rainforest is the BEST...so great for just relaxation...you'll have a robe for the heated tile lounges...wonderful. The dry steam room is amazing...couldn't breath in the steam room, but most love it. Aroma showers...fabulous. The $150 package is great...Judy, I think that's what we had with champagne...

Have a magical morning...:wizard:

Morning all,

Meme glad your one of the "COOL" people and booking the Radisson;)
I will be looking for your info for dining when you get the chance.
Don't let Bill (Mutt) fool you about the name, if you poll all the folks from last years cruise they will tell you it was BILL who started this who name thing:thumbsup2 This year he has taken to Monkeys but he will throw in a  now and then.

Well folks we are going to hit 97 again today and with humidity it will be 105 or more!:scared:
Going to a movie this morning to escape the heat and will be home by noon so wont be out in the worst of it. Plus I want to watch the onder pull out at 5:00 p.m.

Hope everyone has a good day today.
I will check back this afternoon to see who is around today.

Mutt, Shell, how did the family reunion go? Did they like your dish you made?

Kathy

Morning all....

Kathy? ME????? nanahead???? never heard of them.

The reunion was a big success as was Shells dish. We had a great time, ate way too much and passed the Football Hall of Fame on the way back. We saw 4 jets taking off to go to the festivities( thats what we're assuming, anyways) and the Metlife blimp hovering over the Firestone golf tourney. Good times.

Back to business....I cant believe Kathys blaming the nanahead thing on me...geez (I'm an innocent mutt-stander in this)

Good morning everyone. Wanted to say hi and then off to church to teach the kiddies:thumbsup2

MeMe, you are a wealth of information. I'm just so torn as to what to do. I want to see the islands but this is our first cruise and so I also want to take advantage of all the ship has to offer. :confused3 Maybe some sangria when I get home will clear my mind.

Definitely doing the Rainforest thing. Sounds too good to miss. I want to take Jacob snorkeling and I have heard mixed reviews about the different excursions. If they could only control the fish................

Anyone have any suggestions for which snorkeling excursion to do with a nine year old?

See you in a while...............

If there is an excursion to Trunk Bay in St. John, do it. There is a marked underwater snorkel trail there that you just follow along and see all kinds of living creatures and coral. It's way fun and easy to do. You just walk in off the beach. I didn't do it as part of the cruise but we stayed in St. John a few years ago when my oldest was only about 2 1/2 and it was a nice way to snorkel as my wife and DD could play on the beach while I did the snorkel trail.

Hey Kim.... trust me on this. You'll have plenty of time to explore the aspects of the ship. Its really a good long stretch between Saturday evening and Tuesday. Those two complete days at sea allow you to roam free and experience everything (I love those days...such a peaceful time--)
Remember last year, gang? Wheres Woo? Oh I saw her with Tonya on deck 9 aft a few minutes ago. Wheres mutt? Just saw him with Mike on deck 4 fowards. They'll meet up at dinner and the show (a few rare appearances together).

As for the snorkeling. I cant imagine too many of the snorkel excursions would be unsuitable for kids. I'm curious to see the St Johns snorkel trail. I've heard that you see a lot of wildlife on that one. Kathy? You've done all those, haven't you?

I agree ... I wouldn't do the cabana massage again either. I really thought the atmosphere would be so relaxing and enticing, but it just didn't do it for me.

I think this is the one that we are leaning towards, because of Jeff's recommendation. But, again, I can't say anything but good things about the Golden Eagle if you want to snorkle in St. Maarten. It was the highlight of my trip last time. And Kim ... there were tons of kids in the 8-12 age range on that excursion.

And guess what...I CAN'T do this one - at least not with DCL because for some reason, kids under 5 aren't allowed even to ride along. Now, if they are truly going to bus you or whatever to Trunk Bay, then why can't the family hang at the beach while I snorkel? I dont' get it. The funny thing is that they are willing to let us on the St. John's island tour but in my opinion that's more of a safety risk since you ride in these open air cabs (basically pick up trucks with benches in the back) around the windy roads of St. John... Well we may just go to Magen's Bay on STT for the day.

Oh goodie- we are talking about excursions.... wanna snorkle on St. Thomas day-St. Marteen is reserved for Orient Beach and lunch at Kon Tiki and would love to see the airport beach at sunset...
so, which snorle trip to do.... looked at doubloon and now I am now looking at the Golden Eagle.. more comments? Wil have three teens with me:eek:

Hey all... We're back from camping. I'll get some pics on when I get around to it. (I know that Im slow with the picture thing.:lmao: ) We did get Lucy to swim, she looked soooo goofy :goofy: .
We went fishing at the river near by, and I caught two sunnys!  We also saw a huge carp, but couldnt catch it... :sad2:
We also went swimming yesterday and there wasnt a lot of people, so we had fun. Dad had back pain on Saturday (everyone pity him...) So that's when we went swimming.

And that's about it! An okay weekend, didnt get to keep the fish, but I guess we werent allowed to keep them anyways.... :sad1:

Bill,

our St. John's excursion was an eco hike not a snorkel and an island tour.
We had family snorkel at Pinel Island which is just off St.johns and loved it.

Josh, glad you had fun camping. Ask your mom if she want to link up with the rest of the early diners? I am asking people who want to eat together for early dining to PM me their reservation number and last name so I can call and get us linked together. let me know if you guys are interested.

Just saw the Simpsons movie, it was cute but not as good a sall the hype on TV. Next weekend we hope to see the newest Bourne identity movie.
Anyone seen it yet? No details please just say good or bad?

welloff to buy a few groceries for the week,

catch ya later, keep up all the good chatter about excursion because we are still debating them.

Kathy

Ok....another question aimed at our resident expert but anyone with info, please chime in anytime.

Heres the dilema. We're gonna have the Palo brunch but we've decided not to do dinner on semi-formal night like we did last year. I had a marvelous side dish that I haven't stopped talking about. Is there ANY way that I can get someone to farm that particular dish over to one of our rotationals. I know its a pretty outrageous request but its Disney and I was told a long time ago, "if you want something on the Magic, it never hurts to ask".

Any thoughts would be helpful....

Good Morning...:scared1: oh my gosh, afternoon. Where is this day gone to! Been sitting around most of the morning playing Lights, Camera, Action with Christian. I was Patrick Star! Skylar spent the night with his best friend who is MOVING to Cincinnati in a couple weeks, they'll switch houses this afternoon and spend the night here.

IT IS RAINING! Actually a good soaking one too! :cool1:

Kim, We are going to do both of Sunny's tours St. Thomas and St. Maarten. We are anxious to explore the islands chaperoned for the first time! Sunny is going to pick us up at 9 a.m. in St. Thomas.
