11-23-2008 DCL per-Thanksgiving 3 night Wonder cruise!!

It's only suppose to be 85 today. We have been enjoying our pool time. I am dreaming of going to the beach this weekend. There are not many beaches near us. Sometimes I wish I lived in Florida.

I just thought of a cruise question someone might know the answer to.

Are there lifejackets for the kids on the cruise? Is the Goofy pool even deep enough to need one?

Don't think you need it in the kids pool.

Guess what? My dh has been selected for Jury duty the week of our July beach vacation (Dis resort at Hilton Head). I'm crossing my fingers he can get excused. Grrr!!

Yes, its a nice park. We like to go in the Fall when its cooler and they've decorated for Halloween. They also have a water park which is nice as well. You can pair the parks with Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown for a fun mini-vacation.

I like going everywhere better in the fall. We are trying to think of something to do this weekend. I think Williamsburg is just a little too far. My son loves roller coasters and it looks like they have a few that are within his height range. He just got over 42".

What about Wash DC or Baltimore. I think there is a 6 Flags near DC, but I don't know anything about it. Or maybe Hershey Park? I haven't been there either, but would like to try it. Isn't there a little kids' park somewhere near Amish country? I can't remember the name, but have memories of going there when I was a kid. I think my sister in law took her kids there last summer. They also took some kind of train ride - think the train was suited up as Thomas???

I have another idea. Have you ever been to Snowshoe, WV? Its a ski resort in the winter - beautiful in summer with a lake and a pool and some nice restaurants. No roller coasters, but they have a railroad just down the road in Cass if your son likes that kind of thing. I think its about 4 hours from Pittsburgh. We love it there.

Hey All,

It has been a rough week. I have been trying to keep my mind off of what happened to my youngest son,( age 5).
He fainted, stopped breathing for about 10 sec. and then had some sort of mini stroke or sezisure. He is doing much better now. We were just playing at the playground and he comes up saying he can't breath and starts grabbing his cheast, fainted and then I was holding him saying " Don't you leave me!! Don't you leave me!!" His body was limp on one side and the other side very very tight. We took him to the hospital and he had a MRI on his brain which looked normal and then we saw a cardo doc yesterday and it showed a heart murmmer ( but one that shouldn't effect his health overall). And then the poor little guy had to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours and that ended today and it is now been 3 days and next we go to see a nerulogisted? Not sure on spelling. But I think the longer he goes without having another one the better!!! We are making him take it easy for the most part.

Yeah, it's crazy. I was telling my friend who lives in Florida about us going on the cruise, but I told her it was way too expensive now. There are still spots on the Thanksgiving 4 day, but they are very expensive.

I have really good news so far. Today I got back some of the test results and they looked normal!! We still need to keep an eye on him but we are hoping it is a one time thing and won't happen again. The Cat scan also showed normal but did show a very bad sinus infection and he is now on some really good antibiotics for the next 14 days that should help him also.
So right now we still don't have an answer why but at least his brain looks fine, heart, and EEG report. Which we are told is a very good thing at this point.
So the longer he goes without it happing again the better. So keep praying for him and I really ThankYOU for your support about this!!!!!!

DisneyFans, I am glad your son is doing well. We will still be thinking of you.

It's been cold here. No pool this week, unless it is in the inside pool. I was just at DL but I can't stop myself from wanted to go to DW. I know I really do not like DW in the summer, but I really need to get away. It doesn't help that my friend that lives in Floriday took her 9 month old to DW for the first time. Now she is addicted too. She wants someone to come down and go with her.
