I have signed up at least 4 times to parasail at the Contemporary. Every time the weather was too bad and they canceled the trips. The very last time, when my husband and I were at WDW alone, I was going to, but was suffering from some anxiety issues and chickened out.

As a celebration of conquering those issues, I am going to do it this time. I can not think of a better place than CC. My husband is going to go also...we are going to try tandem, but we might be just over the weight limit. (all the more excuse to hit the gym!) It would be kind a cool to have a boat full of dis'ers.

Make sure you take cash with you to the Dolphin Encounter. They will bargin with you on pictures and videos but only if you have cash.

I can't believe it's time to sign up for Palo (ok, not for the newbies yet). I hope there is a Palo reservation left by the time it's 75 days. Does anyone know if you can cancel Palo and is it 24 hours before? I am still up in the air about trying it. I really want to, but I am afraid I will be too full to really enjoy it. Also, our son has been really clingy recently. Hopefully preschool starting next week will help him relax.

Its always full, but it is set up so nicely, it doesn't feel full. I would highly recommend it - esp on a longer trip. For a 3 nighter, it would be nice for you to dine in the other 3 restaurants if you've never been on the ship before.

Not sure of the cancellation policy??

Well, I've been able to book Palo and the dolphin encounter -- but not for MIL! Not sure what the problem is -- from what I understand, I should be able to book everyone since our ressies are linked even though she's not a CC member. So I'll be trying again at the 75 day mark for her.

However -- I did go ahead and book Palo for 2! I'm hoping DMIL will want to dine with her grandsons, so I won't have to worry about changing the ressie.

And don't worry, there was lots of Palo times still left!

You can add us to the passenger list. We were going to do the 5-day Magic over Labor Day, but decided it was too much time off of school, and switched to this cruise.
After booking this cruise, we then ran into problems with our flights. Midwest Airlines had big-time cuts (40% of their personnel were laid off), and they went from many flights a day to Orlando down to one. We were fortunate enough to still get a flight, but had to leave a few days earlier than planned, meaning the kids will miss the same amount of school as if we had done the 5-day double-dip.

We found the rates at the Value Resorts to be reasonable for Friday night - we are staying at Pop Century.

I really hate to cancel because we got such a great deal on this but it is not looking good and I just want to screem. We are going on money and that darn new AC just hate that!!!!!!!!!!

We are on the edge of Gustav here in NE Fla but so far have been lucky. Lots of tornado watches. There are about 2 weeks each year that I count my blessings NOT to be living next to the water. To top things off, my parents live on the Ga. coast, so now I have to start worrying about them with Hanna.

Well, we got lucky with Gustav and Hanna (my parents live on the Ga. coast). The funny thing is that my in-laws all live in New York and are actually getting the remains of Hanna more than the two families that live anywhere near the beach. Who would have thought?

So, anyone excited about the nearness of the 75-day mark?! I'm going to be staying up to get DMIL's ressies taken care of.

Hurricane Ivan was devastating to the Pittsburgh area in 2004. It is surprising where hurricanes can make damage.

I was able to get everything booked in 10 minutes -- other than the confusion about not getting to book MIL's stuff. (We are CC members and she is not. I thought that since our ressies were linked, I could do everyone's but apparently not.) You want to book at 12:00:01 am EST on the 9th (that's a second past midnight). It's a bit easier here since we are CST and I'm usually still up at 11.

That said, I've never before booked at midnight and have never been shut out of anything.

Hello Everyone!,

I hope the weather has not hit anyone to bad lately and here is hoping the new one doesn't end up as bad as they say it could be.

Well, we tried but with the unplanned AC going out years earlier then it should we just can't do this cruise!

I still have the hotel on hold but couldn't take the chance with the refund policy and not getting the money back.

But thats the way it goes sometimes!!

I will keep updating the front page for any new comers and for sure will keep checking back here and there to see how all of you are doing etc.

So how did everyone do with their Palo, shore excursions, spa, etc. ressies???? (And if you haven't booked them yet, you can now as long as you've paid!) I was able to book DMIL along with us on the Dolphin Meet without problem. Took all of 4 minutes.

I still haven't been able to get a Palo table for 3 since it keeps giving me an error sign. I've just going to keep it as it for now, esp. since I really want Palo to be the last night (first night we want to show DMIL what the restaurants are like, and the second night is Toy Story show and Pirates Party -- way too much going on already). As I've mentioned about a million times, I'm hoping she will offer to take the boys to supper while DH and I go to Palo's. But at least now I can say I tried -- and will "offer" to try to change it once we're onboard (I'm already going to try to change to early/main dining).

I booked Palo last night for the last night of the cruise. I was a little thrown by how much was available. I thought I would just take whatever I could get and every half hour was there.

I thought that Toy Story was on the first night of the cruise?

I booked that last night in hopes that my son will adjust to going in the clubs. I figured if he didn't adjust that at least gives us time to cancel. We have early seating so I booked later at Palo just in case we have AP on the last night. I don't want to miss the show there.

I almost booked the massage at CC last night. That just sounds awesome, but so expensive.

Toy Story is on the second night of the cruise. I can't believe I missed that one. I just figured because it replaced Hercules that they put it on the same night. Good to know.
