11-23-2008 DCL per-Thanksgiving 3 night Wonder cruise!!

My son will be 4 also. We watched the travel channel special on DCL the other day and I think DS is excited. Of course, for some reason he started begging to go to DW last night. He never asks to go so I don't know where that came from. I guess he is getting older and knows what he likes.

I forgot to say my two sons are about the same ages.

Since I just got back today and not thinking to clear.LOL

( For you new families that joined the group) Do you want me to add you to the list we have on the 1st page of this Thread??

If so then let me know.

Thanks!

And how is everyone else doing??? We had a GREAT time in Maui!!! It was sad to leave the weather was great the whole time!! Tell me how you all are.
My son is still doing well!!

Hellllllloooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! It has been forever since I posted. It has been a long summer and I am already planning on heading back to teach on Aug. 11th....the kids don't start until the 18th. Nov. will be here before we know it. I was looking back on the threads...so I want to welcome all those that were added after me; I also want to let Disney Fans know that I hope her son is doing better; And TCB, this is my first 3 day cruise....does it really just fly through.....do you even bother doing excursions in Nassau. I have yet to try Atantis but I really think I want to. MY only question is....."How's the weather during that time and did the water at Castaway Cay feel too cold???

I am making my final payment next week...........YIPPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can add us to the list too!

Also, thanks to those of you who gave suggestions about shade at CC. Glad to see there will be lots of boys in the same age range as our two.

Yes, the water felt cold to me -- but I like my beach water warm -- I won't go in here (Fla. panhandle) unless it's mid-summer! We did the stingray meet last year and it was tough getting in the water, esp. early in the a.m. But the boys were happy playing totally in the water by afternoon, and even I was sitting with my feet in. And the water was a lot warmer than in our first cruise at the end of Jan. Weather was quite nice -- shorts during the day, light sweater in the evenings.

Yes, the cruise goes by WAY too quickly! DH just can't get off work for long periods of time, so it's the shorter cruises or nothing. We really hoped to go on a 4-day cruise this time but we didn't want the boys to miss too much school or soccer. We didn't do excursions at Nassau either time -- nothing worked for a 3-year-old the first time, so we just walked around, went to the Pirate museum and shopped, then back on the ship. Last time we stayed onboard and had fun in the pools, activities, etc. I think we are going over to Atlantis this time just to look around. DS2 is a bit small for the water slides now, so we'll save that for the future.

Thanks for the info TCB....it helps when it comes to packing....I think we'll go to Atlantis:)LOL....HUGS!!!! Great meeting ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did everyone give some thought to the fish extenders???

Thanks for caring!! When is final payment due?? ( Sad I don't recall LOL) Are you making it early?
Glad to here from you again!

I just looked and final payment is September 9th. I was going to transfer my reservation so I better get on it. I also didn't get insurance yet. Better do that too.

How's everyone doing with the planning? The Castaway members can book Palo soon right?

Hi there. Nothing else for me to plan at this point. We're still booked at the Dolphin post cruise. The waiting list has not opened up at Beach Club or Animal Kingdom. Dinners are booked - just waiting for November to get here.:rolleyes1

You wouldn't happen to have recorded that Travel Channel special?? I would love to see it, but we don't have cable or satellite. My boys like to watch the one that DCL sends...but I think the other would be cool!

Did everyone give some thought to the fish extenders???

Hi NenaCruise -
I haven't read this entire thread yet (you've all been so busy planning over the past few months!), but I saw your mention of fish extenders. Is there a group doing these? From reading the posts on the main cruise board, it sound like fun.

Two weeks until Palo opens up!!!! :cool1: Now I have to decide to either get a ressie for 2 (DH and I) or for 3 (with MIL). I'm hoping she will decide to take DS#1 and DS#2 to dinner solo and let us have a romantic dinner -- after all, she doesn't want to miss out on one of the restaurants on her first Disney Cruise, does she??? (Now, how to convince her that it was her idea to do so!)

I am glad to here that a lot of you are happy that the cruise is coming!!

We also, but................................................

Our main AC went out yesterday and had to replace with a New one so this might cause us now to cancel the trip.:scared1: :headache: :sad2: :scared: :sad1: It was ALOT! of $$$$$. :scared1: But since it is so hot here in good old TX. We don't have any choice.

So if we end up cancelling, you all know why.

How is everyone else doing? Is everyone getting ready for kids to go back to school. I am happy but then again sad because I LOVE them being home for the summer!!

Bummer about the AC!! It seems like there is always something that comes up.

I'm happy that school is about to start. I've been a bit too lazy this summer - am ready for a routine again. Plus, I'm ready for some cooler weather. I would not do well in Texas for sure!

Hope the trip works out for you and you don't end up having to cancel.

We lived in San Antonio for 21/2 years, and man, that state is HOT! Life without AC would be impossible. Hope things cool down for you and that the cruise remains in the budget.

School starts next week for my guys -- first time they've both been on the same school schedule! :cool1: I'm not going to know what to do with myself! We've been busy this summer with tons of sports camps, VBS, tae kwon do, a trip to Oregon, visitors, and my Jazzercise schedule. I'm ready to get back on a regular school routine.

I have it on my DVR and I don't know how to get it onto a DVD. If I taped it on my other DVR it would be easy.

Oh no, that's too bad. I hope you don't have to cancel.

I am excited for my son to go back to school. He's only in 4 year old preschool, but he is getting pretty bored with mom and dad. He has been swimming like crazy though so I am excited for him to swim in the ocean. He likes snorkeling too, so that is something to really look forward to.

You can add us to the passenger list. We were going to do the 5-day Magic over Labor Day, but decided it was too much time off of school, and switched to this cruise.
After booking this cruise, we then ran into problems with our flights. Midwest Airlines had big-time cuts (40% of their personnel were laid off), and they went from many flights a day to Orlando down to one. We were fortunate enough to still get a flight, but had to leave a few days earlier than planned, meaning the kids will miss the same amount of school as if we had done the 5-day double-dip.

DW - Laura
DH - Vince
DD - Michelle 16
DD - Kristin 11

First time on the Wonder for the kids! They are looking forward to comparing the two ships.
