11-23-2008 DCL per-Thanksgiving 3 night Wonder cruise!!

Are you having a big breakfast on Sunday before the cruise? I figure I should maybe make an ADR for that day. I figure I don't want to eat too much before I get on the cruise, but it might be close to 12:30-1:00 before we eat lunch. I was thinking about trying to make an ADR at Chef Mickey's, but I have never eaten there before. I have also really been wanting to try Kona Cafe for breakfast.

I think I am over thinking this. My plan right now is to arrive around 2 on Friday and spend the afternoon at the pool. Then spend Saturday at the parks with some afternoon swimming. I wish they would publish the hours for November. I also can't wait until I can see Southwest's schedule and prices. Right now I could book a pretty good fare on AirTran and USAir, but the extra bag fee makes me really mad. We have to check my son's car seat so we usually have one extra bag.

We are coming in Nov.20th ( that evening) and have ADR for Nov.21 the Marrakesh dinner time ( we haven't ever done that one before). Nov.22nd we have ADR for Chef Mickey (dinner time) per boys request.LOL
On Nov 23rd we have a light breakfast because when we get on the ship the boys always want to hit the lunch on DCL and then swim after.LOL

I forgot to add. Wed. Nov 26 we have ADR for GG and Ohanos. I know bad us, we like to eat.LOL and then Prime Time for MGM but I am wondering if I ment to make H and V? I like one but not the other I need to look those two up.LOL

Me too! I just don't like the super early times.

J

Yep, understand that.:)
Where are you guys staying at WDW? I think you said before but I forgot. We are staying at the POP. I like the POP and since we won't be in the room much it is great for the price!!

Loooong story. Right now, we've got 3 rooms reserved at the Dolphin. We have DVC and called EXACTLY 7 months out to get a 2 bedroom (we have several family members going with us). Believe it or not, there were no 2 bedrooms at all left. So, now we're on the waiting list for either AK Villas or Beach Club Villas, with the Dolphin as a backup.

BTW if anyone is interested, the rooms at the Dolphin are only $159 - special promo price!! Great price for the Dolphin. I think with tax, it comes to $188/night. The Swan wasn't that much more if you want/need the Queen bed instead of Dolphin's Double.

I ate at Hollywood and Vine last March for the Fantasmic package and I thought it was pretty good.

I can't decide what places I am interested in eat this time. I have never been to the Peppermarket and that is about all I have come up with so far. I need to do some menu surfing.

We have been thinking about changing to the W&D because of that 159 plus resort fee of $20 but still paying $179.00 a night for that time of the year is really good I think.:) But then again my kids love the POP?? So I don't know.

Do you think you will get the rooms needed? from WDW? Will they let you have 2 one bedrooms DVC right next to each another for the same points?

Yep.:hyper: Get some ADR's now! and cancel later if you want to. Better to get ADR's and to cancel rather then to have none I always say.LOL

Where are you all staying? I forgot also.

We are staying at the Beach Club Villas before the cruise, then off to southern Florida after the cruise.

I was just looking at the Spoodles breakfast menu and it looks pretty good. I think we might try to avoid buffets this time because my son doesn't eat anything. I just had a huge fight with him to get him to eat 4 macaroni and cheese noodles.

Has anyone ever been to Fresh? It's at the Swan or the Dolphin. Their breakfast menu looked really good. I also tried some of the pastries from the Beach Club last time, and they were good. We might just stick with that the morning of the cruise.

What's GG?

South FL sounds FUN!!
We use to have issues and sometimes still do once an awhile when they (my boys ages 5 and 8 now) don't want to eat. If you do run into that and you let the wait staff know and they can see that the child didn't end up eating, they will usually not charge you the childs rate.:)

GG is Epcot Gardren Grill where it turns while you eat and they have Mickey, Chip or Dale and another 2 of the characters walking around taking photos with you and signing books. Really cool and you can see part of a ride as it goes around the back area.:woohoo:

We saw the Garden Grill when we were there last time. It looked good. This will be our first trip without the dining plan, so I feel like we need to try some counter service. That is good to know about the buffet and the kids not eating. Not only does our son not eat, he doesn't like characters either. He will ride the Tower of Terror, but holds on to me for dear life if Mickey gets within 5 feet of him.

They finally put out the November hours.

You could always book the additional room and then cancel after you pick one. We really liked the location of the Dolphin. We walked to Epcot and over to the Boardwalk - and also to putt putt.

I can't do 2 1 bedrooms - way too many points. My mother and her husband are paying cash for their own room, so the 2 bedroom is for 7-8 more of us. We could potentially do 2 studios, but I don't really want that. I'm crossing my fingers!! If not, the Dolphin will be fine.

Gonna go check the schedule now.

The food court in the Land is excellent!!!!! Great food!!!

I was just looking at the menu on allears and it does look good. I don't know if we were planning on going to Epcot or not. It is going to be hard to keep my son away from Test Track. I was thinking about going to the Studios in the morning and MK in the evening. I would say we could just go through Epcot, but I know once we get there we will want to ride everything. I guess I have 5 months to decide.

Has anyone ever had the Kitchen Sink from Beaches and Cream? I really want to try it.

I think I've seen people eating that. Doesn't it have like 15 scoops of ice cream or something crazy like that???

Well, there are only 2 of us. My son doesn't really eat ice cream either. Maybe we will just have to have a regular sunday.

We are in the middle of a major heat wave here. Going to the pool today to try and survive.

The kitchen sink is crazy fun. The kids loved it. There were four of us and plenty left over.

I haven't been on the boards in a month, so it took some time to catch up. Nice to "see" you all again. You've got me motivated to finally do ADR's (I'm procrastinating).

Off to work and school for the kids. Last week!

Yep, I agree it is hot!! I am so glad we have a pool!! We have 3 water falls and love to have them on and then float just right in front of one and it is kind of like getting a water massage. :goodvibes
