Okay - I am just so excited that I have to share.
DD and I were out shopping for a dress for her confirmation & graduation when I noticed this formal gown on the sale rack - half price. I tried it on for fun, and yes, it fit! DD said, "Buy it!", but she says that about everything (you know, it's not her money:rotfl: ). She even managed to get DH to agree that I should buy it. Now I'm much more practical than that. Spend $$$ for a dress I'll wear once or twice??? A few days later we were back at the store and the dress is still there. DD and DH again tell me to buy it, but I'm pressed for time and hurry out. I finally decided to cave and go buy the dress the next day. You guessed it... it's not there. :sad2: DD says, "I told you to buy it. You always do that." :rolleyes1 Well, a wonderful sales assistant ended up finding it in a store room, and the price was half of the half off! :thumbsup2 She said that it would be on sale even more if I waited until the weekend. I've learned my lesson. Better safe with the dress than wait and end up without the dress and a DD saying, "I told you so." However, I did go back on the weekend and it was on sale even more and they credited my card the difference. Are you ready for this? I got a strapless, chocolate brown formal gown at Macy's Department store for $28.00!!:cool1: :cool1: Original price $188.00. I can't wait to wear it. :woohoo: Now if I could just get DH to get his pirate costume for cheap.... fat chance on that one.

I'm sure my son would love to meet someone via the internet before the cruise. My son is also into video games as well as basketball. He spends most of his time playing basketball on the ship. He never gets on the computer but might if he knew someone was going to email him. Let me know what you think.:goodvibes
Do you want to exchange email addresses through PM?

:chat: Does anyone else in the 10-12 age group want to cyber meet before the cruise?

:woohoo: Congrats on the great dress deal! I love when that happens. I get so excited when I find a fantastic sale. :goodvibes

Great find on the dress! You just reminded me that I better get dieting so that I can fit into the 2 dresses I outgrew while eating on the last cruise I went on. :rotfl2:

Happy 22nd Everybody!!!!

Glad to see that we're not on page 3. There is no school today because of parent/teacher conferences. There hasn't been a full week of school since before winter break because of the weather. The poor kids are going to be going to school halfway through June. :sad2: I know it's got to be spring eventually.

Joan--Congrats on the dress, that is a REALLY good price. DD has been shopping the Internet for a dress but I don't know if I'm going to cave in a buy her one or not, she has two from our last cruises that still fit her. I have to say that if we found one for $28 I would buy it.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I am SO looking forward to spring. The kids are home again today because of the icy roads. We didn't get any snow, but the sleet and freezing rain did us in. I think DD's school had 3-5 weather days built into the schedule, but DS's school does not plan on weather days. They have to add each day missed to the end of the year schedule. :sad2: If this keeps up, he'll still be in school when the summer session starts.

For anyone in the northeast....stay safe. I've noticed you are getting what hit us early yesterday and more. :cold:

I guess us Floridians will just keep our mouth shut about the weather. :rolleyes1 But I will say Winter never really came.

We're at the halfway mark. I made our ressies 18 months out. Hopefully this next nine months will fly.

I was wondering if anyone sailing is from Central Virginia - Richmond area? That's where I hail from. :thumbsup2

I might have my DS and her family coming along - that would be another 4 people. They hail from New Hampshire.

What are you guys doing in Costa Maya? Any thoughts? We're thinking about staying onboard since nothing is striking our fancy.

We're in that general location. Are you planning on driving or flying down?

WOW!!! My girls keep drooling over every fancy dress that catches their eye and begging. I am hoping to catch something in the after prom sales for them.

Hello all! I haven't been online for a bit, the kids had last week off school for winter break so we were in MD and PA visiting friends...then came home to a nasty computer virus.....all is finally well.
I have had fun catching up on all the chatting!
I too had a great find at Macy's for a formal dress....not quite as cheap as cjckclan...but bought a $120 dress for $40....you gotta love the "great deal high" you get with a bargain like that!!

We are having yet ANOTHER snow fall as I write! I must say our first winter in New England has been a white one!! We were away for last Friday's storm but still had the miserable weather on a trip to NYC to see Wicked...
I am so ready for the cruise!!!:surfweb:

I got your PM and PM'ed you back. I had to clean out my inbox and sent box.

I just read that there's a new soccer "field" on the sports deck. DS didn't believe me when I told him. He wanted to know if they put astro-turf on it. Anyone know anything about it?

Hope to see you soon!! popcorn::

I forgot to update the girls buddy lists until today. If y'all were trying to PM them and couldn't, try again and it should work now. Sorry for the delay.
