Just wanted to join the group. We just confirmed our Thanksgiving 08 cruise. This will be our 4th cruise, our 2nd Thanksgiving DD cruise. It will be me, Judy, and my DD Mindy, who will be turning 21 on the second day of the cruise. Last cruise we did over Thanksgiving, she had a pin on that said today is my birthday, and it was so cool how many of the CM 's sang happy birthday to her in their native languages.Look forward to joining the cruise!

Welcome Judy!!:welcome:
We are off to an early start...and having fun already!!

Were in PA are you from?? I grew up in NE Philly and Bucks County!

Okay - I'm bumping us back to page one.....

Hi Mommykeg,

We're doing the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins Tour ($43.00 per adult). It's only a 4 hour tour which should give us time to do something else afterwards. :cool1:

K
We are looking into booking with this tour company too. Still looking between Chaccoben tour or maybe Kohunlich tour which is a bit longer.

I think we may try the Fury Catamaran in Cozumel....we will see!!

Definitely hoping to snorkel in Cozumel although DD would like to do the horseback riding/mayan ruin tour. I noticed a few snorkeling excursions won't let people with asthma participate. DS(16 at cruise time) has asthma, but it is very much under control; he rarely uses an inhaler. Do you think they would let him participate if we had clearance in writing from his doctor??

We'll be bringing down 3 backpacks filled with school supplies for the kids. Plus, maybe some extra bags of candy for them, too. ;)

Karen

Where do you find info on this?

Okay....question of the day!!

If you are going a day early...where do you think you will stay??

Plans are to drive from IL to southern GA Friday and meet up with AF5FAM and then drive the rest of the way Sat morning. However, the "WHAT IF" demon has started attacking me with "What if we have car trouble????":scared1:

Ok CJCKclan, you know perfectly well that the only thing we have to worry about on the road are motorcycles that jump out from behind trees and run into the back of our minivan!! :rotfl2: We'll cover your six again this time and you should be safe. :thumbsup2

It sounds like you all have traveled together before!:)

Yes, we've been friends since 1988! (Can it really be that long?) The above mentioned incident happend on our dream vacation together to Disney World a few years ago. We'd planned forever to take a trip to Orlando "when the kids are old enough to remember it" and we were finally stationed together near St. Louis so ROADTRIP! And there we were, driving along on cruise control in the right hand lane with cjckclan in front, somewhere in Kentucky:drive: when out of nowhere CRUNCH!!!! As I look in the rearview mirror I see a body and motorcycle fly through the air, we flash the lights, pull over and my DH runs back to see what happened. Turns out the guy fell asleep (yes while driving a motocycle down the road at 75 MPH!!) and just ran into the back bumper of our van. Luckily since he was asleep and flew into the soft sand along the side of the road, he walked away with only minor injuries! My van had an interesting stripe on the bumper, the width of a motorcycle tire, and other than shot nerves we were all fine.:scared: So we did the only logical thing and drove on for a wonderful week staying at the Contemporary and hitting all the parks.pixiedust:

Good morning all!
Well, our group is growing!
We are adding to our group;
DSil 41
DBil 49
DNephew 20
DNephew 17

This is their first cruise. We basically talked them into going. I am a bit nervous about my nephews...being older. I know I saw some older teens on the tread....any advice??

(PS. Found out Friday that we will be relocating to MA in June....I am freaking out....I may be distracted for a bit...but my mind will escape to my chair on CC and a Konk Kooler whenever the stress gets too much!!)

:yay: Our group is growing, too! My brother and niece will also be joining us for our cruise. I also talked them into it, so can't wait to share the fun. :woohoo:

Hey tjeagle - we're moving from FL to GA this summer, so I'll be joining you for that temporary escape! It may take a couple of Konk Koolers before I'm ready to return to reality.

Hi Everyone!

I am getting ready to leave for FL today and board the Wonder tomorrow. I will let you know if I am able to lower my price on the Thanksgiving 2008 cruise! I have a list I am rebooking for, lol. :rolleyes1

I can't wait to see Hercules again tomorrow night!

Karen

Karen--I'll be anxious to hear what kind of deal you get on rebooking for 08! We are leaving in about two weeks to board the Magic!:cool1: I, too, want to try to rebook for the Thanksgiving cruise and get a better deal. Have a wonderful trip!

Giving us a bump!

Hope everyone is staying warm! It is cold and windy her in MD!! I'm ready for spring!

Well everyone...

I rebooked onboard the Wonder and was able to save 10% AND get the $200 onboard credit for each room! That is a savings of over $500 PLUS $400 onboard credit!

Well worth the trip on the Wonder! :cool1:

Now I just have to wait until February 2008 to sail again... then only a few months after that!!! :upsidedow

Karen

Alright, TJeagle - Jackie!!!!

I am LOVING your Trip Report! :rotfl: But I have some questions:

1) What are we going to be named? Can we even compare to the Happy and Laid Backs?

2) How soon can we make our Martini Tasting ressies? :cool1:

Any ideas on a group name?

Karen

Congrats on the savings!!! I was just thinking about you yesterday when I reread the last two pages of this thread and realized that you should be enjoying the sun in the Caribbean. I was just a bit envious as I'm sitting here in IL freezing my tush off!!! and wishing I were on the Wonder too. :teleport: Okay, so it's not as cold here as Jackie has it in MN, but I'm a cold weather wimp; anything under 50 and I'm cold. :sad2:

Karen, Congrats on the savings!! Wasn't that an awesome feeling!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Our name will come! The happy and Laid back thing happened just a week or two before that trip from something one of the group said...I am sure in the next 20 months we will think of something!!
Wine/Martini and Margarhita tastings can be booked at guest services when you board...we went before we even ate!! : ) There was 2 times for each...we'll have to decide which to book when it gets closer so we are all together! That made it so much fun!!

I'll be waiting for your trip report!!
