Alright, we'll get started a little early for Monday...

Question of the day, Monday, February 12, 2007

What do you think you'd like to do at Costa May?

Me: Mayan Ruins, no doubt about it. Probably on our own, rather than through Disney.

Hello all! Just back from our first Magic-al Cruise!! We were able to transfer the ressie I made on the 31st on board so we are definitely in! I'll check in later and get caught up with all the chatting!!

Woooo hooo

Definitely want to do Mayan ruins, so if y'all have info on the best Mayan ruin tour (through Disney or not) please share. I suppose our second choice would be snorkeling.

Definately the ruins. The 12/09/06 Double Dippers arranged a tour with David and Ivan and they gave rave reviews in their trip reports. They customized it to where they still had time to go shopping and/or do other things in port.

Here's the link for their website: http://www.chacchobenruins.com/

I read about this! They sounded awesome! Maybe if we get enough interest we can all do the same!

Still getting caught up (in between cruise laundry and clean up!!)
Here are my answers to the list of questions...

How about we answer some questions to get to know one another:

1) What # cruise will this one be for you?
2nd Disney Cruise
6th Cruise

2) Are you cruising anytime between now and then (on any cruiseline)?
Just got of the ship yesterday!!:cool2:
That will be it until 11-08

3) Main or Late Dining?
Late! Worked awesome for us!

4) Favorite show on any Disney Ship?
Loved them all! Probably Disney Dreams...

5) Favorite Restaurant on and Disney Ship?
PALO!! Brunch and Dinner....FABULOUS!!

6) Favorite Activity on any Disney Ship?
Castaway Cay!! Can't wait to do it twice!!:cool1: :cool1:

7) Usual place you eat lunch at on boarding day?
Parrot Cay...was yummy!!

That should get us started... have fun!!!!

Jackie--I'm so glad you had a wonderful trip! Can you tell me how the rebooking onboard went? Did you have to "repay" your deposit or just actually transfer everything over? We booked on the 31st as well but hope to rebook onboard on our March cruise to save some $. Was it still 10 percent and $200 onboard credit? Did it save you much? TIA for any help! I keep checking Disney's website every day to see if the price of this cruise has gone up or not.:surfweb: I'm hoping it doesn't before March 17th!:surfweb:

We'll definitely do the Mayan Ruins!:thumbsup2 I don't know if we'll book thru DCL or do the David and Ivan tour. I'm worried about not getting back to the ship on time with David and Ivan. Everything I've read about them has been wonderful, but I've read several posts where people just barely made it back in time. Has anyone else read that?

We re-booked with Leslie. She was wonderful. What she told me is, she is able to transfer a ressie and get the on board perks if....
#1 if you booked directly with DCL and not through a TA
#2 is the cruise is not sold out or the catagory you want is not in gty status.

The 10% off will be for the price of the room on the date you re-book, not what you booked it for on the 31st. It didn't change in the 4 or 5 days between my changes. Hopefully it won't change before March!

What she did was transfer the ressie (basically cancelled it and rebooked it immediately) and also transferred the deposit.
I got 10% of the cruise rate (not including tax, charges or insurance) and did get the $200 OBC.
We saved almost $400 for the same room plus the $200 OBC......Pixie dust!!

I would definitely be interested in putting together a group for David & Ivan. I have already emailed them about the date (November 25h, 2008) and will let you know what I find out. We would be interested in doing the trip early in the morning so there is no rush back to the ship in the afternoon.

Jackie--thank you so much for getting back to me on my rebooking questions. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that the prices don't go up! I did book directly through DCL, so I'm safe there. I am constantly checking this trip on DCL's site to see if prices have gone up. The other day when I checked, there were no cat. 9's listed.:confused3 I then checked later in the day and they were back again. Not sure what that was all about, but it did put me in panic mode.:lmao:

Question of the Day February 9th, 2007

It's sunny and 85 degrees out and your sitting with your feet in the water at Castaway Cay. You can hear Jimmy Buffet playing from the Conked Out Bar and there isn't a cloud in the sky. Here comes the drink waiter... WHAT do you order?

:

Sorry, still getting caught up on this thread.....
My answer...favorite sittin' in the sun drink...Margarita (on the rocks with salt)....But....favorite last Friday....2 for 1 Bahama Mamas!!:woohoo:

We'd love to do the David and Ivan tour too. If you get some information on it, please let me know. I have read nothing but really good reviews about their tour.:thumbsup2

Ditto on the info about the David and Ivan tour. I checked out their website and it looks pretty good. As long as we can arrange it so we won't be in a panic about getting back to the ship I think it would be awesome. So any ideas for Cozumel?

Hi Everyone!

I have an official reservation from David & Ivan! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We are all set for Tuesday, November 25, 2008. The tour starts one hour after the Magic docks in Costa Maya. We'll have to take the small bus into the main village to meet them.

I cannot wait! Who else will be on our tour with us? I asked them if my kids could bring anything down for the local school children - I will let you know what they say.

I can't believe I have a confirmed reservation for November 25, 2008 already! How funny is THAT?

Their new website is www.thenativechoice.com. I hope that works!!!

Terrific! I love a planner!!
Count us in! 2 adults and 2 kids (will both be 10yo)
Do they provide the bus?? I have to check out the new website!
Thanks for doing the leg work (or finger work:lmao: )

You will need to take the bus from the Port into the small village nearby. It costs $3 per person. Once you are in the small village and check in, they take care of all the transportation from there on.

 Costa Maya done...

Cozumel will be Chankanaab - snorkeling. Hopefully the rest will be open by then!

Castaway Cay - hanging... soaking in the sun.

What else am I supposed to do for the next 20 months? :confused3

That works! I love the idea about taking school supplies to the kids.

I'm sure we'll find something to keep us entertained until then!:confused3
Their is always pirate night.....cruise meets.....shopping....shopping....and shopping.....;)

I wonder how their Thanksgiving Dinner is?? I really look forward to seeing the ship decorated for the holidays!!

I'm pretty sure we'll be in on this one too.:thumbsup2 It would be two adults and two kids. I have read really good things about this tour, and I love the idea of taking supplies to the children!:goodvibes
