We heard about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party from Stacie (momtosupers). The tickets were $59.59 a piece including tax. I had enough Disney reward dollars to pay for my tickets and my room at Coronado Springs for the night for the four of us, so that was nice. Stacie told us all about the party, and it sounds like it's going to be great! Thanks, Stacie!:goodvibes

I have a DS16, if your DS wants to IM or e-mail let me know.

I know he would love that! Last cruise he had 2 buddies his age. He's a little nervous this time and isn't sure he'll meet anyone. I'm techno challenged so how do I get the IM/e-main info to you?

Went to dinner last night with friends traveling with us this trip. Made some decisions about shore excursions. My DH is parasailing and the eco-tour on CC and the 4 Elements trip in Cozumel. He wants desperately to do a zip line! I am doing the Dolphin swim in Cozumel and the hammock on CC.
We all decided to do Mickey's Christmas Party on Friday night. I didn't think we could stay away from the Magic Kingdom since we are going to be so close! Thanks to everyone for the info!

Downloaded 2 Disney shows from the Travel Channel (cruise and the 4 parks) on my IPOD last night. I take the bus to work and this will be great entertainment for the ride there and back. If anyone is interested you can get them from iTunes. $1.99 each or the entire Disney series for $14.99.:3dglasses

Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party the night before a DCL cruise, HOW AWESOME! I am completely jealous. The DW would kill me if I even mentioned it. She will be so focused on the cruise and to add THAT to the mix would be instant death for me. :rotfl: Have a blast, eat some gingerbread cookies for us and we'll see you on the ship.

Just went on Deb's and read that DCL has modified recommended tipping guidelines for all cruises beginning 7/13. Total per guest for 7 day is $84.00.

Great!!! I will make the list for the grab bag. Thanks for adding to the website.:thumbsup2

Would the grab bag be the same thing as the fish extender that I have read so much about? There are 5 rooms of us going and we were hoping to do the FE thing. I will gladly add to the grab bag if that is the FE alternative. Sounds like fun! I am so excited about this trip!:yay:

What's the reason for the change?

There was no reason given. Just good old inflation I imagine!

I also read that major changes are in store for Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island. All of the clubs on Pleasure Island will be closing on Sept 27. I'm glad we decided to do Mickey's Party on the night before the cruise. DD and PI were our alternative activities.
We're in for the grab bag as well. What's a fish extender?

No the grab bag is different than the FE. At our DIS Meet anybody that wants to participate would bring an item, drop it into the bag and than when everybody leaves the Meet that could pick an item out of the bag. Just something fun to do.

Can we discuss this "Fish Extender Thingy" a bit further?? I saw pictures and need to know exactly what needs to be done...Do we bring our own extenders and then find each other and leave little trinkets in their extenders?? THese extenders don't get stolen? Some of them are sooo cute...I'd be worried that mine would be taken! (We had a door magnet taken from us a few years ago. :sad2:

I don't know what people want to do, here is what we did on our last cruise. Everyone had a goody bag to hang on their fish. I made them for our group last time (there were only 8 or so of us). I just used two sheets of felt sewn together with a Mickey head on the front and a ribbon handle. Everybody brought goodies for everybody else. Some people brought a gift a day for everybody, some just one gift. The things ranged from glow sticks, to candy, to Christmas ornaments. I did bring a couple extra bags in case they were stolen but we had no problem, I had also brought plastic cable ties to secure them but it wasn't necessary. It was fun to come back to the room and find things in the bag.

I don't know how it would work for a group this size. Would everyone make their own bags? Would we do it grab-bag style, each family draws another family so your only doing gifts for one, then reveal who you had after the cruise? I'm game.

I absolutely love this idea! I think we could definitely draw (or) "adopt" another family for the cruise and if you wish to do someone else's as well that's entirely up to you! I do think that we should do the family selection at The Meet as an incentive to get people to show up there! In addition to this you're meeting the family rather than placing gifts in their "Fishy Thingymerbabber" :fish: and never knowing who it is!

Thank you!

I'm having a wonderful birthday over here in NJ sharing this special day with my children. Soon the hubby will be home and my day will be complete!! :cloud9:

Happy belated birthday! I hope the remainder of your day was festive and magical!:wizard:

So we are planning to do the Merry Christmas Micky party too. We are just tying up some loose ends and will purchase them by Aug.
My DD wants a friend to come but we are not sure if one will be coming yet or not. So now my DD said she may not go if she doesn't have someone to hang out with. I don't really blame her as her sister was suppose to come and now she can't. So it's going to be 3 adults and on 10 year old boy and my 17 going on 21 DD. :worship: So I guess if she decides not to come I will have some extra spending money for sure:rotfl2:

My sister who is travelling with us recd a letter from DCL saying the itinerary changed and we are no longer going to Costa Maya. :confused3 Because of Hurricane Dean last year. SO they added Grand Cayman on Wed the day after Cozumel. We were sad about missing the ruins.

We have not recd the letter yet but I am sure any day

Also count the 8 of us in for the GRAB BAG great idea.

Kim:cheer2:

I am just catching up on the posts and saw that it was mentioned about Costa Maya middle of June.. That is why I should be keeping us with these posts everyday!!!

Sorry for the repeat

Kim

Calling all 11 to 13 year olds!

Now that most kids are out of school, I thought it would be a good time to have the kids get to know each other before the cruise. If your 11-13 year old (Ocean Quest age) would like to have an email penpal and/or a Nintendo Wii friend, please PM me. My DS12.5 Brendan is interested...
My son would love to have more wii friends he is 11 Not sure how to PM can you please PM me...
