11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

Hi, everyone! I haven't been posting much lately either because I've been overwhelmed working on my master's degree! I will NEED this cruise by the time it finally arrives! In fact, I've been trying to convince DH that I will need a cruise when my classes get over in July. He's not buying it though! If I feel like I do now when we get on that ship in November, I'll be joining a few of you at the bar!

Ages have changed for Oceaneers Lab, Ocean Quest, and The Stack. At least that's what someone posted on the above thread. Is there really enough to do in Ocean Quest? DS12 hasn't been to OQ yet, but I was under the impression that it wasn't that big.

8-10 in the lab
11-13 in Ocean Quest
14-17 in the Stack

My DD will be so upset! She is now 13 and has looked forward to being able to go to the teen area for so long! Will this affect any activities on CC? I know my daughter and a friend were wanting to do the Wild Side excursion. I think that's what it's called.

I don't know anything first hand, just what's in that post. You could try asking your question there to see if anyone knows about CC excursions. I think they wanted to keep the 13 year olds out of The Stack with the older teens. I've read about some not so great things that have happened and can understand why DCL would do this.

That's too bad! I hadn't heard anything bad about the Stack, but I guess having older teens with younger ones could be a bad situation. I hadn't even thought about it like that. My DD just thought of the stack as a milestone. She couldn't wait to be old enough to go there. I'll keep her young for as long as I can though.

We'll be there and can't wait! My kids are 13 and 10. We just did a Hawaiian cruise, and although Hawaii is beautiful, we all missed Disney! I'm counting down the days!

I haven't checked in to this thread for awhile. We almost had to cancel the cruise, so I didn't want to get more depressed by reading about something I may not do. But it looks like we don't have to cancel, so I'm back.

The kids club changes may cause some problems with our party. My friends kids will be 9 and 11. The oldest will only go to the club if his sister is there. So if they can't be together, he'll just hang with us adults all the time. Ugh.

Hawaii was probably the most beautiful place I've ever seen, but I'm ready to be back on Disney! Now, if Disney ever does Hawaii, we'll be there for sure!
