Ok. Just so I have the rules straight -

1. Never ever let your kids participate in Toy Story Mania while challenging your spouse. They must learn to fend for themselves.
2. All Florida residents must be at the port no later than 10:00am or they will be denied entry. I'm assuming no refunds will be given.
3. All flights out of Pittsburgh to Orlando MCO depart no later than 6:30am.
4. No matter how far in debt you are and how you just can't afford it, you can always do Disney. This is called "Disney magic"! Make sure you rebook on board.
5. No matter how old you are, you are always 10 at Disney. Make sure you act your age! It's the only place in the word where it's socially acceptable.
6. I'm a damn fool if I don't join DVC!!!!!

Did I forget any?

Judy

You got it. And I bolded the important part. I will be staying at the Vero Beach Beach Cottage in a few weeks. It's the final DVC owned resort I have to stay out. I've loved them all. But this is a 3-bedroom right on the beach.   You should definitely do the DVC info meeting while on the cruise.

Oh, and a note for other DVC members. On my last cruise, the DVC stand guy gave us cool stuff each time we passed him wearing anything that showed we were DVC members. So get your DVC gear ready!

You guys are aweful tricking your spouses like that! The only thing I told my DW is that we have to be to the port before 10:00. Its a Florida Resident rule. I know I read it on this board somewhere, but I just cant seem to find it.
 I hadn't heard about that rule. I can't remember... what time do they start letting cars in? I think we had to wait in line last time, until they opened a gate or something. DH wasn't happy about getting there early and having to wait.

So how long does it take you and Shay to drive to the port? For us I think it's around an hour and a half.

Well then I wouldn't want to be a rule breaker.:lmao:

Just got off the phone with my TA. I've not received my confirmation for AKL for Friday nor my ground transfer info. This is only the 4th time I've asked her to take care of this!!!! Her name is Patti Hurlbutt. (I delight in saying her name. I can do that because my last name is Hickey. Live with that one!!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: )
I think I'm getting anxious. It must be the 70 day mark.

I want to be the DVC stand guy. Are they hiring and how do I apply?pirate:

Well, it took us a little over 2 hours last time. But we had a blow out. Not the tire variety. The diaper variety. My littlest foiled my plan to have us all wearing matching Mickey tropical gear for our boarding picture. So I think if we leave our house around 8, we'll be there about 10.

Good morning all,

Wow, just 70 days. The thought makes me anxious for what I still need to do. I got my FE items two days ago and I put a packet together. It didn't thrill me so now I'm trying to jazz it up somehow. I'm going to try to tackle the sewing on my FE this afternoon. That won't be pretty!!

I was reading on another thread that a group had ordered custom rubber bracelets, each family paying for their own. They got them ahead of time, and wore them to the terminal, so all the dis'ers were easily recognizable. Does anyone have any contacts for ordering these items? I'd check into it but I'm swamped for the next 4-5 weeks. Is anyone else interested?

I'm hoping to find some time this week end to work on my magnets. I think I have all of my clip art together, it just needs to be personalized, and printed.

I plan to head over to ABC Liquors to pick up my supply... not Crown Royal, but Ballatore Gran Spumonte. :0) Dh will probably get beer. I noticed some families bringing on cases of beer and water last trip, and having the porters tag them with their luggage. They were then delivered straight to their rooms. I'm going to give that a try.

Have a great week end everyone!

I Think they open the gates around 10:00. We waited in the parking lot last time for about 1/2 hour. Michelene was NOT happy. the good thing is we parked in that small lot right next to the ship. On disembarkation, we only had to lug everything a short distance. Lifes simple pleasures . . .

On our last cruise a DIS'er made everyone lime green Mickey pins. She used the Home Depot paint chips, wrote our names on with a Sharpie, laminated them and stuck craft pins to the back. I still have mine and will probably wear it on the first day.

I just did a quick Google for the bracelets. The place I looked at had them for around 1.70 a piece, the more you order the cheaper they are. They had both youth and adult sizes. You can pick the color and the saying.

I think this would be an easy way to recognize others. I'm willing to coordinate it, if there is an interest.

It's raining here again, supposed to rain through tomorrow night. We're all glad it's Friday!!!

Are you Floridians getting rain from Ike? It is a huge storm, it looks like it is filling up the entire gulf.

We're in for the 3 of us. I think it's a great idea and the price is right.

I'm on the east coast of FL and we've had unusually nice weather the last few days. Normally we'll get a thunderstorm every afternoon, but we haven't even seen a heavy rain lately. Pure sunshine today. I love it.

When I was looking for rubber bracelets for Cub Scouts (a few years ago) theawristocrat.com had decent prices. We ended up doing something else though, so I never actually ordered from the.

I didn't even think about making t-shirts out of the tags! Great idea. Now I think I'll have t-shirts to match my magnets.

On the West coast, it's been rainy off and on as Ike moved by. But nothing major. Just all day overcast rather than our usual Summer thunderstorms.

TwoByFour,

If you do end up placing an order, I would take 2 adult and 2 kids. I'll send you the money and a prepaid envelope. Thanks for looking into it!

Shay - Have you ever made t-shirts before? I was wondering what the best transfers are to use.
